Perhaps Nancy could help her after all. Gina’s tone was calm. “Calm down a bit.” 

Nancy stuttered, “Miss Miller, I. I can’t calm down. I’m really, really scared. Please, help me. Save me. I’ll do anything you ask. I don’t want to die. I’m still so young!” 

Gina handed Nancy a piece of tissue paper indifferently. Nancy took it and wiped her tears. “Thank you.” 

“If you can help me, I can protect you,” Gina said solemnly. 

“Help.. help you? What do you mean?” Nancy had only wanted to gain Gina’s sympathy by pouring out her troubles. 

Gina said, “I also suspect Henry has done some shady things, but I don’t have evidence. If you can help me find evidence of his crimes, I’ll agree to anything you need from me.”

She didn’t lack capable subordinates, but she needed someone who seemed non–threatening and wouldn’t arouse Henry’s suspicions. Nancy was quite suitable. 

“You can rest assured that if you help me. I will ensure your safety, Gina promised. 

Of course, Nancy was willing to trust Gina. She was her only lifeline. If she didn’t agree to be Gina’s informant, Nancy felt she would be walking into a dead end. 

Gina said, “Okay, then you can get off here. From now on, just interact with them naturally, as you would normally.” 

“Alright.” Nancy got out of the car. Still feeling uneasy, she asked, “Miss Miller, will you…. keep your promise?” 

“Do you think I was joking with you just now?” Gina asked back. 

“I understand.” Nancy didn’t want to continue bothering Gina, lest she provoke her annoyance. After closing the car door, Gina drove away. 

Nancy walked into the foundation’s building with trembling legs. She hadn’t gone far when she saw Shane and Henry standing in the corridor. 

They seemed to be chatting happily. Nancy couldn’t hear what they were talking about, but from their expressions, Shane and Henry seemed to be enjoying the conversation. 

Feeling increasingly suspicious, Nancy even thought that Shane might be discussing with Henry how to dispose of her after they were done playing with her. 

Shane noticed Nancy approaching and saw her eyes were red. “What happened? Didn’t you say you were going to talk to Miss Miller? Did you get scolded and cry?” 

Henry’s gaze fell on Nancy when he heard that she went to see Cina. He asked, “Mr. Benderson, is your new girlfriend friends with Miss Miller? That’s impressive.”

Shane replied, “Friends? Not at all. You never listen to me or even follow entertainment news. She offended Gina before and just happened to run into her at the entrance. She said she wanted to apologize to Gina, fearing Gina would blacklist her.” 

Shane insisted on boasting. “In fact, if Gina wasn’t friends with Nancy’s company’s boss, I could definitely protect my girlfriend’s career!” 

Henry smiled and didn’t say much. 

Shane continued, “So what happened? Stop crying and tell me. Did she not forgive you? Why didn’t you listen to me? I told you, that going to see her now would only humiliate yourself, but you didn’t believe me.”

Nancy was also trembling with nervousness, but luckily, her crying made Shane and the others think she was just sobbing. Shane couldn’t be bothered to console her. To him, Nancy was just a tool for his pleasure. He casually said, “I’ll go to the bathroom. You guys talk about the donation.” 

With her head down, Nancy’s pupils suddenly contracted. Though she felt that Shane was not a good person, she didn’t want to be alone with Henry either. He gave her a chilling feeling. But she couldn’t stop Shane from going to the bathroom, 

After Shane left, Nancy didn’t know how to start a conversation with Henry. She even felt a bit resistant to getting close to him.
