Chapter 50

I took a few deep breaths to calm my nerves, and I can feel the fear that is radiating from Elana’s body, so I moved closer to her and held her hand in mine, and she looked at me before I smiled at her while the elevator door was gradually opening, letting in the sound of chaos that is taking place outside.

Once the elevator door completely opened, I saw that the entire hallway was swarming with the pack members trying to clean the place, and I looked around to see that the windows were completely destroyed, and the wallpaper on some of the walls was completely torn away.

“Let's go out.” Elana's voice brought me back to my senses, and I nodded my head before we stepped out of the elevator, the whispering started, and I know that I will not be able to hear what they were saying, but from the way that Elana’s eyes watered and her lips trembled, I know that they must be talking about her.

“Elana, pull yourself together. Don't listen to what they are saying, you are stronger than that.”

“I know Iris, but...” before she could finish her sentence, I heard a roar coming from the entrance, and everyone’s glance was in the doorway, but I was still unable to see who it was.

“Elana!” that was Jace, and from the tone of his voice, I can decipher that he is beyond livid. The crowd parted away to give way to their alpha and everyone’s eyes were downcast. And there Jace stood, wearing only track pants, his chiseled chest on full display with a few blood stains and his hair messy from all the fighting that he was involved in.

“I fucking let you stay in the pack, and now you have made the rogue attack us?” Jace spoke, and by the time he was finished, he was standing right in front of me, but his murderous eyes were focused behind me on Elana.

“Jace, believe me, I have nothing to do with this,” Elana’s voice was only a whisper, and I can feel that her body was shaking terribly. Right then, Walter and Mike arrived, and Walter commanded everyone to leave the pack house, within five minutes the packhouse was empty except for the five of us.

“What else did you plan to do, uh? Were you planning to kidnap my mate too?”

“Jace, I was trying to protect her when the rogues attacked. I took her...” Jace raised his hand, and Elana stopped her sentence midway.

“Do you think I would believe you after I just received this letter?” Jace yelled before he threw a paper toward Elana, but she was standing frozen in her spot, so I bend down and picked the paper up, smoothed the crashed paper, and read its contents aloud.

“Dear Alpha,

This was just the trailer for the movie that is going to come in a few days, and in two days not only will I destroy your pack and take the stone, but I will also take your Luna right from under your nose, and I don't even have to be present there to kidnap her. My beloved friend will do it for me. Just wait and watch.

Midnight.”

Once I was done reading the letter, I looked at Elana, who was rapidly shaking her head, denying the fact that was on the paper.

“Believe me, Jace, I have not seen Midnight at all. I have only heard about him.” Elana begged, and now she came out from behind me and stood right next to me.

“Don't you fucking call me by my name, Rogue,” Jace yelled roughly, holding Elana’s jaw in a firm grip “I am alpha to you.” he sneered, and I slightly back away in fright, I have never seen this side of Jace.

“Jace, you are hurting her. Please leave her. We can talk and solve this issue. I am sure that she isn't involved in this.” Mike tried to persuade Jace to let Elana go, but that only angered him even more, and he abruptly turned toward his Gamma. “You stay out of this.” and when he turned around again, I saw that his eyes were liquid gold.

“What is going on here?” another new voice interrupted our heated argument, and all of us turned to see who the new intruder was. The man standing there was similar to Jace but with salt and pepper hair, and that is when I realized that this must be Mr.Emerson, Jace’s father.

“Dad?”

“Let me handle this situation here. I must have done this a long time back.” He said.

“Gamma Mike Wyatt, under the alpha’s command, I want you to reject Elana Quinn as your mate and the Gamma female of the blue blood pack,” he commanded, and all of us looked shocked at him, but he held his poker face and looked at Mike waiting for him to do it.

“Please! Please, don't make him do that! I beg you. Please!” Elana broke down and cried, and she fell to the floor, begging Mr.Emerson to take back his command, but he held his head high and ignored her.

And I turned around to look at Mike, whose eyes have watered, and tears were continuously falling from his eyes, and his eyes held the pain that his words can not describe, he slowly moved towards Elana and stood right in front of her.

“Dad, but that is a harsh punishment. We can give something else.” Jace tried to reason with his father, but he gave him a death glare that shut him up. My heart broke in two at seeing this. I couldn't stop the tears that were continuously flowing down my cheek. How could he be so cruel?

My heart ached with pain, and my throat closed, I wasn't able to form any words. While the two most innocent couples looked at each other with so much pain and melancholy, I couldn't take it anymore. Mike cleared his throat a few times, and he locked his glance with Elana’s. Whose eyes almost looked dead, the spark from Elana‘s eyes that I always saw was now gone. Her lips trembled, and she shook her head lightly one last time at Mike, but she already knew that she wouldn't be able to do anything.
