“This is Emily her bear? As in, she tamed it?” I asked Arch.

“Yes, and what’s so special about her hunter abilities, is that she can call for them on a long distance. So, she called for him to get to the castle. Ursai is going to help us get your children back. So, let’s go inside.” He said.

The hallways are pretty small for such a large bear as Ursai is, but I guess Emily trained him well, as he can be really quiet and doesn’t bump into anything.

Arch thinks that the children are kept together, and as we recently provided shelter to a few enslaved children; he thinks they have put the rest with them. So, we went downstairs to another hallway to get to the room.

I quickly glanced around the corner to see if there were guards. Luckily, there were none. Maybe Dennis and the Royal guards took care of them already.

We stepped closer, but could only hear some muttered screams. As if the people inside were gagged with something.

Silently I opened the door and got amazed by the scene.

On the right were all the children, and on the left were Tyler and two other boys, tying up the three warriors who were already gagged and bruised on different places.

“Tyler there are more! Get them!” One of the little girls said.

I stood there, arms crossed over my chest, waiting to see how Tyler would react.

“Daddy, I’m sorry that I hurt them! I just couldn’t wait any longer.” He said with his head bowed down.

“Don’t be ashamed boy, these people are bad. I’m proud you could take care of three big warriors.” I said proudly.

“Are they warriors? But daddy, they didn’t keep up a good defence. They left gaps open for me to hit them. You shouldn’t put them in our army.” He stated with a clear voice. Completely forgotten about his shame, acting like the strong warrior he is already. All he has to do is grow up into an adult and become the General of our army.

Seeing him standing there with his arms across his chest, just like me, made me remember all of the details of both my sons, and some of the moments where we shared some quality time as a family. So, some of the memories with Emily popped up as well.

Tyler greeted Ursai and laughed about the bear being inside the castle. I could see his eyes twinkle, already scheming plans to have fun later.

“Ursai will go outside once we are done; you don’t get to play with him inside!”

“But dad...”

“No ‘buts’.”

“Aawww...” Tyler pouted, and I laughed at him.

“Let’s get you and the others to a safe place now. Alright?” I said to him and he nodded.

I was worried about Emily and the baby, but I have to trust her judgement. Besides that, I have to safe our children and the others first, in order for me to be able to safe her. I can’t charge in there, attacking my brother, only for him to alarm his Dark Mages.

While we walked out of the room A loud massive roar was heard, and it wasn’t from Ursai.

Emily’s point of view:

“Good Emily, push her out!” Cirilya yelled at me.

I had heard Ayinthur roar outside of the castle, but I was too busy to talk to him. Sweat ran over my face, my screams were heard from miles away, draining my energy at the point of where I thought no amount of sleep could ever replenish it again, and then the pain...

My bottom felt like being torn apart! The scales of the egg that I was to get out, felt slightly rough to the touch, grazing the skin of my vagina. Everything burned down there, throbbing, tearing, trying to get the egg out as soon as possible. The egg was about the size of a baby’s head, so it should be able to come out.

But as the scales are rough, it was damaging the inside of the birth canal, leaving me in an unbearable pain. Besides that, I could feel blood pouring out of me because of the damage, like gushes. So, not only did my energy got drained from pushing, the loss of blood also helped with that.

I had to get the egg out now though. As Hayden hadn’t returned yet, from getting hot water out of the kitchen.

With one more go, one more contraction, one more scream, I shifted my hips a bit and pushed the egg out.

The purple glow that was around my belly, dissipated and made the egg glow now. It was beautiful! The dark purple scales radiating with power, the glow pulsating slightly, giving away the steady heartbeat of my little girl inside.

“Get her out of here.” I said to Cirilya.

As much as I want to keep her here, and don’t want to leave her at all, I had to get her to safety. She is the most precious thing in the world right now. Not only because she is my daughter, but also because she is part dragon. I don’t want Hayden to get a hold on a child that is this special. He might think of using her for his Dark Mages.

I was devastated that I couldn’t keep her here, that I couldn’t keep her save. Tears started rolling over my cheeks, I felt defenceless and powerless. Nothing I could possibly do, would end this charade that Hayden is causing.

“I understand why, but how?” She replied to me.

But my eyes had already turned purple, communicating with Ayinthur to get him to the window of this room.

The time of his arrival has been impeccable.

Soon a gush of wind made the window fly open and Ayinthur was hovering in front of it, on the outside of the castle. Cirilya had wrapped the egg in a blanket and went to walk over to the window, when the door of the room suddenly flew open.

“NO!” Hayden yelled and put a shield around Cirilya, making her stop in her movement, frozen in place.

He is not going to have my baby girl! No, this will not happen!

I screamed, loudly, while still lying in the bed all bloody and extremely exhausted. I mustered all the energy I had left and flicked my hand to the side, making Hayden fly in the air, backwards against a wall.

Without a second thought, Cirilya ran over to the window and threw the egg towards Ayinthur.

Ayinthur roared and caught the egg with one of his claws, grabbing the blanket gently at the knot. He turned around and flew away, his black obsidian scales shimmering in the moonlight.

“Safe her!” I yelled to him in the dragon’s link.

“I won’t fail my kind this time, she won’t leave my sight.” Ayinthur replied.

And without thinking about what Ayinthur was talking about, or how I was able to push Hayden away, I felt my consciousness falling. My breathing got slower, as I felt the blood streaming out from beneath me. I knew that the loss of blood was pulling me into an endless sleep.

I tried to look at what was happening, but I didn’t have any strength left, to keep my head up, to keep my eyes open.

My last moment awake, I saw a blinding light appear in the room, surrounding me in a warm embrace. I passed out, knowing that the world I leave behind is one where my daughter is safe, and my sons are about to be rescued by their father.
