Brock’s point of view:

I loved seeing her so happy. She was completely in her element when she talked to all the privates and their pets. Every once in a while, she looked at my direction and smiled to me and I smiled back at her.

Arch sat on a bench with me, and I took a moment to talk to him, about something that bothered me. I told him about the Orc, that had spoken to Emily and that she could understand him. We had to figure out a way to find out if there were indeed more Orcs on the way, but also what their reason was for going after her. Of course, I also told him what had happened at the forest with the Elves and the possibility for our offspring to have different specialties. Maybe the Orcs knew of Emily and her abilities and wanted to have it as well for their race. We finished this subject and Arch asked me if I wanted to stay longer with Emily.

“Each month we have some sort of competition to see which is the best hunter of the month. Let it be that, that day is tomorrow.” He said smiling and I know he was planning to see more of Emily’s abilities and this was an excellent way for him.

“You have to ask her, I’m not going to put her in the spotlight as I know she hates that.” I said to him. But before I knew, he got up on his feet and walked in her direction. I followed him, wandering what she was going to say.

Emily’s point of view:

Archeops was walking in my direction determined to ask me something, Brock was following him right behind. When he was close enough, he told me about the competition tomorrow and I actually wanted to respectfully decline. But the privates wouldn’t have it, they all told me to join in and were practically begging to see me fight.

He has seen me use my bow, and shoot headshots even from the back of a flying gryphon, so he knew what I am capable of. I actually liked what had happened so far today and I felt bold enough to join in. At least I got some training out of it, as well as I could see other hunters perform in close range.

“Game on Archeops! But only if you join in as well!” I said and the privates all cheered and waited for Archeops to reply to what I said.

“I never participate in the games, but let’s see how close you get to my score.” He laughed hard and agreed to join in tomorrow. Now the crowd got mental, they never had to compare their skills to their colonel and they got excited to do so tomorrow.

“You might want to start stretching your muscles today, old man.” Brock said while slamming onto Archeops’ shoulders and the privates all started laughing really hard, including me.

Lunch was served, and everyone came to sit at the long tables, that were lined up close to the building. I noticed pretty much everyone wanted to sit close to me, giving Brock and Archeops no room to sit anywhere near me.

“Is it true that you can shoot an Arcane arrow?” One of the privates asked me and all eyes were directed my way. I told them that I managed to do that once, and only because I had to save my best friend. So, I wasn’t sure if I could do it again though. Then they asked me all sorts of questions about what I could and could not do. The weirdest gossips had spread through their ranks, as apparently I could make a Gryphon shoot balls of fire out of its eyes. I figured, that it was an exaggerated story about the heath signatures I let Nightwing show me, so I explained that to them. They all listened in awe and they wouldn’t let me stop answering their questions. But I didn’t mind, I felt at ease and comfortable enough to talk, so I let them ask any questions they had, while in the meantime I tried to eat some soup and bread.

After half an hour, suddenly they all turned quiet and the private in front of me looked at something above my head.

“Is it the general?” I whispered really softly and the private nodded.

“By the way guys, do you know that the general his Gryphon only listens to me, and that the Gryphon used his butt to push him on the ground and sit on him?” Some of the privates chocked on their bread, trying to not let their general know that they couldn’t control themselves, and others reacted to that with laughs.

Brock picked me up and put me in his arms, he grunted and all the privates became silent again. He took me towards the building.

“You know what happens when you try to embarrass me, right?”

“Nope, not a clue.” I answered with sarcasm and Brock rolled his eyes.

Brock’s point of view:

“It was just an attempt to boost morale, big bad general.” She said smiling to me and I growled.

I took her inside the building, to the second floor where I have a private room. The room was set up for me if I chose to visit this place. Every month or so I would come here for a day or two, to see the training progress on the hunters.

I closed the door with my foot, and continued to walk her to my bed. This bed was simpler build, so no curtains around it and a bit smaller than the one in the castle, but still large enough for both of us to sleep on. Although 'sleeping' not one of the actions was, that I had in mind right now. Neither did Emily as she had red cheeks already, and I haven’t done a thing yet. We laid on the bed, me on top of her.

“What do you want me to do, love?” I asked her.

“Less talking. More action.” She said and started kissing me.

I had to laugh in my mind though. She never cared what she said to me, she is the only one to question my commands, or try to make me feel embarrassed. She knows she can do that, as I could never hurt her for anything she does. Not because she is the Princess and the Queen to be, but because she is the love of my life. I love it, how she talks to the hunters and just let them all approach to her as she is one of them. Of course, she is a hunter as well, but she is also the Princess.

The title of Princess didn’t do much to her though, she just wanted to be treated as an equal. She hates to be formal, but can be just and strongly opinionated when she needs to be. I think she will be a great Queen one day, but will I be able to be her partner in ruling the lands?
