Chapter No 21 Stone Heart

A few hours later

She woke up, her window was open and the cold breeze was coming inside. She slowly opened her eyes and recognized her surroundings.

It was already 9 O’clock. She turned to the other side. The bed was empty. She moved her hand over the bed. She smiled bitterly.

“It was a dream,” she said in disbelief.

She tried to get up but her back was aching badly. It was unknown pain in her body.

“No, No, it was not a dream” she muttered.

She moved a bit to the side where he was laying a few hours ago. She checked her side. It was all bloody.

“So it was not a dream, we really did that,” she thought.

She looked around.

“Where did he go?” she said panicked.

She tried to get up, she felt her legs numb.

She felt something solid and cold near her left elbow. She looked, it was Tyler’s locket.

“Oh he left it here,” she thought.

“I should go and check up on him, I still can’t believe it, he claimed me as his mate,” she thought and got up.

She cleaned the bloody sheet and the entire room and went to take a shower.

After a while, she got out and wore her favorite green top and black jeans. She could not decide if it was really her who looked beautiful or her happiness.

She smiled at her reflection and got out of her room.

She slowly walked towards the kitchen no one was there. She mind-linked Mateo who said he is on the ground with new trainees.

She ate her favorite pancake. “He might be in Alpha’s office,” she thought, smiling.

“Should I mind-link him Lilly?” she asked.

“I think we should give him a surprise,” she said.

She made churros and took them to Alpha’s office. She knocked on the door but no one answered. She went inside and the whole office was empty.

“Alpha, where are you?” she mind-linked Julius.

“Sorry Althea, I did not inform the pack that I and Grace are at a pack meeting in another pack today, could you take care of Eden for a while we left him with Wanda,” he replied.

“Yeah sure!” she said.

“But Alpha why did you leave? I mean Alpha of my fellow pack is here,” she asked.

“Oh, that? Didn’t you know? They left this morning,” he replied.

The tray full of churros fell from her hand. She fell over her knees slowly and tears started falling from her eyes.

“He betrayed me,” she said in a whisper.

“He used me and left me, he did this to me, how could he?” she screamed, Mateo, Alex, and Wanda came hearing her screams.

“Althea what happened?” asked Alex.

She did not reply. Wanda was holding Eden in her arms. She gives him to Mateo. She walked slowly towards her.

“Are you crying because he left? He has to leave Althea you knew it,” she said in a whisper.

But Althea was crying so loud and in pain that she was about to faint.

“Hey, hey relax, come here,” said Mateo while giving Eden to Alex.

He hugged her softly.

“Hey, it’s okay, it’s okay,” he said while moving his fingers in her hair.

“He left me,” she said in a whisper-like voice.

It has been two weeks, she closed herself inside the room. Nobody has seen her anywhere in the pack house.

“I am worried about Mateo,” said Wanda.

“Me too, she is not saying anything,” said Mateo.

“We have to cheer her up guys, it’s not good for her,” said Alex.

“But she is not opening the door,” said Mateo, puzzled.

“Okay how about we should take her somewhere outside?” asked Alex.

“That’s a good idea, I like it,” said Mateo.

“Banggg” They were talking when they heard a huge explosion.

“What is this?” asked Wanda, scared.

“Take Eden and Max to safety with all women and children, I think we are under attack,” said Mateo while getting up.

Wanda was staring at him in shock.

“Go” he shouts.

She left the room in a rush.

Both Alex and Mateo ran outside. But there was no fighting, there were few wolves who were holding wolf-bane guns.

“What do you want? Who are you? Rogues?” screamed Alex.

“We are not here to fight, we are from a fellow pack, our Alpha Tyler Rawlins visit this place weeks ago, we are here for personal purposes, we don’t have any grudges with this pack since we made our allegiance all we want is that rogue girl, hand her over to us,” said a man standing at the front.

“Which rogue?” asked Mateo angrily.

“The girl with purple eyes,” he said.

Alex and Mateo suddenly felt blood rush in their veins.

“She is our friend, she is our family, and we will never give her up at any cost,” said Alex.

“Sorry we got the orders from our Alpha, we have to take her, she is wanted there, she is suspected of killing a girl,” he said.

“This is all bullshit,” said Wanda who just came out of the house.

“What? I should let my brother fight alone” she said angrily.

“She did not kill anyone and we will not let you take her,” she said angrily.

“We have to take her,” said a voice behind them. It was Peter, he walked towards the house.

“Alpha,” said a man in front and he bowed down.

He was followed by Elena, Ruby, Jack, Regina, James, and Jacob.

“Who are they brother?” whispered Wanda.

“I don’t know I have already mind-linked Julius, he would be here anytime,” he said.

“Where is she?” asked Jack, his expression stone.

“Brother, they are not good,” said Wanda.

“No matter what, I would not let them harm her,” he said angrily.

“Mom, Dad?” screamed Althea. She came after hearing sounds and recognizing their scent.

“Althea stops,” screamed Alex.

She was running towards Jack and Ruby when the armed men pointed a wolf-bane gun toward her.

She stopped dead.

“What’s happening? Mom, Dad?” she asked in disbelief.

“Stop calling us that rogue, you have never been our daughter, taking you was a mistake,” said Ruby angrily.

“Mom?” she whispered.

Then a car stopped by and a figure came out of it, it was Tyler with Julia.

She ran towards him.

“Tyler, Tyler where have you been, what happened to them? Why are they acting so weird?” she said crying. She was holding his hand when he pushed her away, she fell upon the ground.

Mateo ran towards her. He looked at Tyler with disgust.

“Don’t you dare to touch me,” he said harshly.

She got up and ran again towards Tyler.

He let her go. She fell down when Mateo held her while bending over his knees; her head was over his chest. He hugs her softly.

“Althea wake up, Althea,” he screamed. Alex and Wanda came ahead.

“Peter,” said a voice from behind. They all looked back and it was Julius.

They all were leaving; Tyler gave a nasty glare at faint Althea and turned. Julia was holding his arm.

Everyone left but Wanda was staring at someone.

“Wanda give me some hand Althea is faint,” said Mateo, annoyed.

“Mate” she whispered.

“Wanda?” he screamed while looking up but she was looking at someone else.

“It’s him,” she said.

“What?” he asked while narrowing his eyes.

“He is my mate,” she said while looking at the figure sitting inside the car.

Mateo and Alex helped Althea to settle over the bed; she was still unconscious.

“If she had not gone unconscious he might have already rejected her, luckily he was unable to complete his sentence, and she could have died,” said Julius.

“Poor girl she has to go through a lot,” said Grace sadly.

“I hate this pack,” said Mateo.

“I have canceled all of the allegiances with them,” said Julius while putting his arm around his Luna.

“She is getting so weak,” Grace said.

“First we thought we were under attack,” said Alex.

“It was almost an attack,” said Julius.

“Peter is racist,” said Grace.

“They have prejudiced against rogue wolves,” said Wanda.

“But this much they wanted to kill her?” said Grace.

Mateo gives Althea a sad sigh.

“I can’t believe her own parents who took her in and treated her like their own. They were about to kill her,” said Alex.

“We won’t let anything happen to her, she has been so humiliated today, and I felt so sorry for her,” Mateo said while moving his fingers in her hair.

She was so exhausted that she did not get up for another day. Finally, she regained consciousness. She looked around and called his name,

“Tyler?” she said.

“Relax, Relax, Althea you are fine,” said Wanda.

“It’s fine we are here Althea, we won’t let anything happen to you,” said Alex.

She got up slowly; she was feeling so much pain.

“It’s okay your wolf is in pain,” said Grace.

“Did he?” she asked worriedly. His words regarding rejection were echoing in her head.

“No he did not, you fell unconscious,” said Julius.

“Everyone has changed, my parents, it’s like they don’t recognize me anymore,” she said with tears in her eyes.

“It’s okay Althea, we are your family now,” said Alex while putting his hand on her shoulder.

She was so exhausted.

“I once thought he loved me,” she said in a whisper.

“You still? He was going to kill you Althea” screamed Wanda.

“Wanda!” said Mateo trying to calm her.

“I want some time alone,” she said sadly.

They left the room.

She walked slowly towards the mirror, she looked at her reflection, her eyes were swollen due to crying. She looked inside her purple eyes. She grabbed the solid hairbrush and threw it over the reflection, the mirror shattered into pieces. She slowly sat down and started crying slowly.

2 week later

Everyone was sitting at the dining table when Althea came down, it’s been two weeks since she came down.

Everyone was looking at her like she was kind of an alien. She looked up at everyone and sat on the chair.

“You okay Althea?” asked Grace.

“Yeah I am fine,” she said and she smiled widely

Mateo was unusually quiet. He was eating his favorite salmon fish. Alex was looking at Althea with disbelief.

“What is it Alex?” she asked without looking at him.

“Nothing, nothing,” he said while taking a sip of his favorite drink.

“Where is Wanda?” she asked calmly.

“She must be in her room. Something fishy is going on with her these days” said Alex.

“I will check up on her later,” she said, smiling.

“Althea Are you okay?” asked Grace.

“Yeah, why?” she asked in return.

Then they heard Eden crying.

“Mother, he is awake,” said Max.

“This boy is only a few months older and too stubborn he would be my early death,” said Grace exhausted. She got up and left.
