Chapter No 22 This was not meant to be

She grabbed the tray full of salmon and transferred the fish onto her plate. She took a bite of fish and it was delicious.

“Yum, who cooked today it’s so delicious,” she said while closing her eyes.

She started eating faster; First Alex noticed her and then Mateo.

They exchanged looks and shrugs. She ate all of the salmon. Julius was looking at his phone.

Max looked up at the table, he was looking for salmon.

“Hey, where are all the fish gone? I have not eaten one yet” he said, whining.

“I want more. It was so delicious,” said Althea sadly.

Julius had looked up at her and then to the tray, she ate almost 9 fish.

“Althea, are you okay?” he asked.

“Yeah, I am fine, Alpha, how are pack matters going?” she said smiling.

“Well they are fine,” he said.

“Althea I was thinking….” Mateo was about to say something when she got up in a rush.

“Excuse me,” she said in a rush and ran out of the kitchen.

“Althea,” called out Mateo.

“What’s wrong with her?” asked Alex.

“She is not looking fine,” he said and ran after her followed by Alex.

She ran towards the nearby bathroom in a rush. She was suddenly feeling nauseous. She threw out everything she ate. She was exhausted when she got up she almost fell but luckily Mateo had held her.

“Whoa, Althea what happened?” he asked worriedly. She was looking so exhausted.

Alex, who was standing out, was also worried.

“I am calling a pack doctor,” he said.

“No I am fine,” she said while raising her hand.

“We are late,” said Lilly in her head.

“What?” she asked, mortified.

Her expressions were turning darker.

“Lilly this can’t be happening,” she said in a dark tone.

“Althea what is it?” asked Mateo worried.

She looked at him panicked and then she had gone unconscious.

“Alex, call the pack doctor now,” Mateo said and he lifted Althea in his arms and took her towards her room.

Lara was checked up on her for twenty minutes. She was one of the best pack doctors. Wanda and Grace were standing at the side of the bed. After a while, Lara took a deep breath.

“What is it, Lara?” Grace asked worriedly.

“She is four weeks pregnant,” she said calmly.

“Pregnant? How?” asked Grace.

“When?” Asked Wanda, she was about to faint.

“I think you know how and for when I already told you, one month,” said Lara sheepishly.

Both women were in shock. “Luna, The girl is under stress, it is not good for her and the baby, so please keep her away from the stress,” said Lara.

Grace was unable to say anything. Lara left them alone.

Trio Julius, Mateo, and Alex came inside the room in a rush.

“What is it?” asked Mateo.

But both were staring at Althea in disbelief.

“Grace what is it?” asked Julius.

Althea had opened her eyes and she got up.

“Althea you okay” Mateo ran towards her in a rush,

“Althea, who is the father?” asked Grace while looking at her in pity. Althea turned bright pink.

She looked away avoiding his gaze.

“Who is he?” asked Wanda.

Wanda and Luna walked ahead and hugged her.

“You know him?” asked Grace.

“Yeah he was my only friend in the pack,” she said while staring at Mateo.

“Jacob? The guy you told me about once?” asked Mateo she nodded.

“Gena was his girlfriend and I am accused of her murder, I was defamed,” she said.

When she used the word “girlfriend” Wanda’s wolf growled.

“Relax wolf girl, she is dead,” said Alex mischievously.

“But what will we do now,” asked her wolf Ulva.

“I don’t know Ulva, we have to think of something,” she said getting up.

“I think we should not go outside,” said Ulva.

“Am, Nate, I think you should wear something,” said Ulva.

She looked down at her body and rolled her eyes.

“They are destroyed during shifts,” she said.

She looked around, it was an old cave, and no one had visited this place for years.

She walked ahead in the dark and looked around.

“Here we go, it is my lucky day,” said.

“Yeah, lucky enough,” said Ulva.

She took the white clock she found on the floor.

“This is amazing,” said Ulva.

She wore that clock around her body and got out of the cave.

“Now, I look like a forest native,” she said.

She was walking in the woods when something fell from above.

She stopped herself from screaming. It was a man.

“Whoa, whoa, are you okay?” she asked but the man did not reply. He was all entangled with the parachute around her body. \He must be paragliding.

“Now what is this moon goddess’,” she said while looking up.

“Where are your manners, take him somewhere safe,” said Ulva.

“For God’s freaking sake, we are also in trouble,” she said.

The man moaned with pain.

She rolled her eyes and grabbed the man’s shoulder and started dragging him.

“What are you doing? Is this a way to help?” said Ulva.

“What do you want me to do?” she said, they were now near the cave.

She settled him beside the wall.

The weather was not good outside.

She checked upon the man.

“There is no noticeable injury,” she said.

“Well, I don’t think he needs our help,” said Nate.

She walked towards the wall and sat beside it.

After a while, she heard a moan and he got up moving fingers in his hair. He had silky blond hair.

“Where am I?” he asked in a deep voice.

Nate rolled her eyes.

“Heaven,” she said.

Just then the clouds thundered.

“Or hell,” she shrugged.

He looked around trying to recognize his surroundings. The rain started.

He got up and walked toward the edge of the cave.

He closed his eyes. She became startled.

“Ulva, wolf, he is the wolf,” she said instantly and got up.

He turned instantly.

“Don’t you dare to come any closer, I will rip your head out,” she said angrily.

“Excuse me, mam, I am not here to do such things,” he said while crossing his arm around his chest.

“Who are you?” she asked.

“Why should I tell you?” he shrugged.

She bent down slightly and took the only weapon she had, an arrow.

“Tell me or else I am going to stab you, this is made of silver,” she said.

He raised his hand.

“Whoa, Whoa, hold on, I am, I am Barclay Williams, son of Alpha Dalton William and upcoming Alpha of North-pole pack,” he said.

She stared at him for a while. He narrowed his eyes.

“Will you please put it down, I am not lying,” he said.

“Trust me,” he said while walking slowly ahead.

She raised the arrow a bit high towards his throat.

She threw the arrow down and sat beside the wall. She looked so tired.

He walked slowly ahead, she opened her eyes instantly.

“Relax, wolf girl, I am not on anything, just sitting,” he said smiling.

She closed her eyes again.

“She looked so scared,” he thought.

“What is your name?” he asked.

She remained quiet.

“Come on, we can at least talk,” he said.

“I don’t want to talk,” she said.

He looked at her for a while.

“Are you rogue?” he asked.

She opened her eyes instantly and looked at him, there was anger in her eyes.

“Whoa, sorry, no offense, it’s just a bad guess,” he said.

He looked ahead.

There was an awkward silence in them.

“I am not a rogue, I am the daughter of Alpha Victor of the Silver-stone pack,” she said while staring at the wall ahead. There were strange paintings on the wall, maybe made by cavemen who used to live there.

“You are the daughter of the Alpha Victor?” he asked, shocked.

“Yeah, why?” she asked while looking at him. She was trusting him for this information despite they knew all the mated and unmated wolves want her for the kingdom.
