Chapter 84 

Yolanda was sick. News had spread that she had been frightened out of her wits. When the Walker family knew about it, they knew they had to show 

their concern for her. 

Mary was tasked to bring Elizabeth to visit her and apologize. 

Elizabeth was extremely reluctant to do so. 

She grumbled, “Why do I have to apologize for her being sick? Who knows if she’s sick or faking it? I can also say that Annabelle fell sick because she was angry with that woman.” 

Of course, as soon as Elizabeth said this, Mary slapped her twice on the face. “Tsk, tsk, what nonsense are you talking about? How can you curse your sister–in–law and say she is sick?” 

Mary then forced Elizabeth to apologize to the gods for cursing Annabelle.. 

Elizabeth thought that Mary was too superstitious. 

On the other hand, Mary felt that it was better to be safe than sorry. 

“Mom, I’ll go with you.” Annabelle thought for a moment and said, “Eliza did this to avenge me. So, I’m responsible for this matter.” 

She could not let Elizabeth take the blame alone. 

On Monday morning, both girls handed in their self–reflection essays to Timothy. He took a look at them before he went off to work. 

As they were on their best behavior in front of him, Timothy decided to let the matter rest. 

As for Mary, she felt that no matter what happened, they had to make sure they did not misbehave. They could not use another’s bad behavior as an excuse for their wrongdoing. 

If Yolanda did something wrong, they could talk to her, or stay away from her. 

“I’m here to uphold justice.” Elizabeth declared as she made a gesture with her arms, preparing to take off. 

When Mary saw this, she rolled her eyes. She wondered when Elizabeth intended to find a boyfriend. She was not ladylike at all. Why could she not learn from the demure Annabelle? 

“Put your hands down!” Seeing that she was still standing there in that posture, Mary was so angry that her head was starting to hurt. She wished she could kick her daughter. 

“Oh!” Elizabeth was shocked by her mother’s stern reproach. She quickly put her hands down and stood upright. 

“Let’s go. Oh, forget it, you girls don’t have to go. I’ll visit her myself.” Mary warned, “Both of you stay home and be good” 

“All right, Mom. Be safe. Goodbye, Mom!” Annabelle and Elizabeth said in unison.. 

Mary rolled her eyes in exasperation. 

Taking a deep breath, Mary left home with a fruit basket. 

Annabelle and Elizabeth did not sit around. With their plans to open a flower shop, there was a lot of work to be done. 

They decided that the shop would not only sell flowers. They would serve tea too. 

They would make and brew all kinds of floral tea themselves. The customers could drink tea while reading books. They would also take in customers confessions with their loved ones. 

It was all Annabelle’s idea, and Elizabeth and Hazel did not object to her proposal. 

Now, they had to find a suitable location before deciding on the interior design and renovation. 

“Annabelle, aren’t you an artist? When the shop is open, you can draw some paintings and hang them in the shop. It will save us the trouble of buying paintings,” Elizabeth suggested. 

Annabelle glanced at her. She did not know how to tell Elizabeth that she had not drawn in a while. 

“What’s wrong?” Seeing that Annabelle was quiet, Elizabeth could not help but raise her eyebrows. “Are you like me? You forgot what you’ve been taught after graduation?” 

Annabelle thought to herself that Elizabeth did appear to be embarrassed at all about her grades in school. 

“Not all of them. Annabelle whispered, “I still remember a little!” 

“Then draw something.” Elizabeth said. “I don’t know anything about art. There are many art pieces that I don’t understand. People always comment that these art pieces are very beautiful.” In fact, not only did she not understand, but she also felt that the flowers were very ugly. There are also art pieces that she thought were beautiful, but no one thought likewise. 

Elizabeth thought that even if Annabelle’s drawing was average, no one would criticize them. Who would dare to say her artwork was no good if she displayed some abstract paintings in the shop? She would think that they did not know how to appreciate art. 

Chapter 84 

“All right then!” Annabelle thought for a moment and agreed. She was not drawing for any competition, so there would not be any problems with her starting to draw again. She just did not want people commenting on her art pieces. 

“Let’s talk about it after I give birth,” Annabelle said. 

Elizabeth waved her hand dismissively and did not think much about it. “Okay. There’s no hurry.” 

The two of them discussed their plans for the flower shop at home. Then, they thought about Hazel, who also had a share in the shop. They decided that she should not get away scot free and called her to go over to discuss together. 

When Hazel received the call, she packed her things and prepared to go to the Walker residence. 

Seeing that she was about to go out, Howard stopped her. “Where are you going? I’ll send you there.” 

Hazel pretended not to hear him and walked around him on her way out. 

“Hazel!” Howard felt helpless. He had no choice but to reach out and pull the expressionless Hazel back. “Didn’t I already apologize to you?” 

Hazel scoffed when she heard that. 

‘So what? Do I have to accept your apology?” 

She said impatiently, “Let go, I don’t need you to send me. I can drive. Besides, since when do you have the time to spend with me? Your Yolanda is sick. Aren’t you going to rush over immediately?” 

“Hazel!” Howard’s tone was filled with disapproval. “What do you mean by my Yolanda? She’s our common friend.” 

Hazel looked as though she heard a funny joke and could not help but laugh. 

“I don’t have such a friend.” Hazel thought of her childhood in her younger days. She would be dumb if she treated Yolanda as a friend. 

“Hazel, don’t be willful.” Howard’s head was spinning. He did not understand why Hazel disliked Yolanda. Was it true that girls were always catty toward each other? 

When Hazel heard that, she could not control her irritation. 

How was she being willful? She merely did not worship Yolanda as how Howard did. Was that considered willful? 

“Howard Underhill! Don’t provoke me.” Hazel looked at him and said with a serious expression, “In your heart, I, Hazel, am not as important as an outsider like Yolanda. You believed her every word, no matter how frivolous it was. Whenever she accused me of doing something wrong, you would believe her. You even scolded me. I’ve gone through this many times. Since I was young, you’ve always been like this. Sometimes, I feel that you don’t treat me like your sister. If you really treat me as your blood sister, why don’t you trust me a little? Do you know that many of my classmates envied me for having such a capable brother? However, since young, I wished I never had you as a brother.” 

Howard was shocked. He could not believe what he had just heard. 

“So, can we mind our own business?” Hazel continued, “Do whatever you want. I won’t interfere with your business. I hope you won’t interfere with mine as well.”
