Chapter 86 

They were Lucas‘ buddies. As Annabelle was Lucas‘ wife, she naturally had to maintain a cordial relationship with both Josh and Irving 

“Why are you looking so hostile?” Compared to the two young ladies, Annabelle was simply too friendly. After greeting Annabelle, both of them went on to chide Elizabeth and Hazel. “Don’t you know how to welcome your brothers?” 

When Elizabeth heard this, she rolled her eyes. On the other hand, Hazel was already sick at the mention of the word brother for the past two days. She felt even more nauseous now. 

Seeing their hostility, Josh would not help but raise his eyebrows. Then, he directly went up and pinched Elizabeth’s ear. “Irving, go tell Aunt Mary that we’re here. Tell her that Eliza is ignoring us. 

“I can accept that Hazel is ignoring us, but this is Eliza’s house. How can she treat her guests like this?” 

Elizabeth gritted her teeth. “Irving, Josh, did you guys visit the sick Yolanda? What happened? Didn’t she ask you to stay for lunch?” 

“Yolanda is taking a rest.” Josh could not help but laugh when he saw her indignant look. “So, we came to your house for a free meal.” 

“Why should you get a free meal?” Elizabeth was displeased. “Do you think you’ll be able to get a free meal here when you come to our house empty–handed? On the other hand, you went to visit the Littleton family with loads of presents.” 

“You’re such a petty girl.” Josh was disgusted. He then took out a small box from his pocket and stuffed it into Elizabeth’s hand. “Can I eat now?” 

Elizabeth opened the box and saw an exquisite ruby brooch inside. It was very beautiful, but Elizabeth closed the box and stuffed it back into Josh’s 

hand. 

“Is this a gift for your beloved? How can you give it to me now? Aren’t you afraid that your precious lover will be angry and scratch your face?” Elizabeth rolled her eyes. 

“Since when do I have a lover? Don’t slander my good name.” Joshi stuffed the box into Elizabeth’s hands again. “I bought it for my niece. I didn’t have time to give it to her before she went back. You’re lucky to benefit from this. I’m a man, and it’s useless for me to keep this thing.” 

Elizabeth looked at the box in her hand and hesitated if she should return it. 

However, before she could state her stand, Hazel whispered, “I want to benefit from this too.” 

Annabelle looked at Josh’s stunned expression and ran over to join in the fun. “I also want to benefit from this.” 

Josh was flabbergasted. He had given the brooch to Elizabeth without much thought. Since he had already given it away, he could not possibly take it 

back now. 

“Hazel, Annabelle, can I give them to you tomorrow?” Josh was feeling very helpless. 

Seeing this, Hazel could not help but laugh. “I was only joking. I don’t wear these.” 

Annabelle smiled and waved her hand dismissively. “I’ll ask my husband to give me. I don’t want anything from you.” 

When Elizabeth heard this, she thought that the ruby brooch was in great demand. 

“Just keep it since he has given it to you,” Irving told Elizabeth before she could open her mouth. “You’ll be stupid if you don’t want to gain anything 

from this.” 

Elizabeth looked at Irving and thought for a moment before putting the box away. She was in the early stages of her business, and her share of the capital was sponsored by Lucas and Annabelle. She was now short of money. The brooch looked expensive. If she had no other way out, she could always sell it to get some money. 

“All right, I’ll let you stay for lunch today.” Elizabeth waved her hand magnanimously and said, “On account of this brooch, I’ll allow you to decide what you want to eat for lunch.” 

Josh rolled his eyes. Elizabeth was such a pragmatic girl. 

“I don’t need to decide on the menu. I just want to ask you what happened that day. What did Yolanda do to you? Why did you scare her so much that she fell sick?” 

As soon as Josh said that, Elizabeth’s face darkened. Seeing that she was about to get angry, Josh quickly raised his hands in surrender. 

“Don’t be angry. Please don’t be angry” Josh knew Elizabeth quite well. When he saw her face, he immediately knew what she was thinking and hurriedly explained his intentions. “I’m just curious. I’m not here to rebuke you on behalf of Yolanda.” 

When Hazel heard him say this, her tense body finally relaxed. 

In the past, she would often be rebuked by Howard because of Yolanda. She knew how it felt to be wronged. 

Fortunately, Elizabeth was different from her. 

When Elizabeth heard what Josh said, her anger dissipated. She thought, “At least you know what’s good for you.” 

“She investigated Annabelle’s background and even spouted nonsense to my brother. I’ve already let her off lightly by scaring her with the snake. I didn’t hit her on account of my grandparents and parents. My parents never interfered in Lucas and Annabelle’s relationship, so why should she interfere? Who does she think she is?”

Josh and Irving were astonished to hear that. They did not understand why Yolanda would do such a thing

Josh did not know what to say. 

Irving was equally stunned. 

“Annabelle, don’t be angry. Let’s find some time to talk to her about this, Josh said. 

Annabelle shook her head. She did not want to be angry over this anymore. Elizabeth was right. Who did Yolanda think she was? If Annabelle got angry and made herself unhappy, Yolanda would be the one gloating 

Josh and Irving thought, “Luckily, Annabelle has a mild temper if it was Eliza, she would have beaten Yolanda immediately” 

After having lunch at the Walker family, the two of them went back to work 

The three girls were not in a hurry to work. They watched TV for a while. Annabelle was in no mood to work. 

Annabelle then saw Noah on TV 

She learned that Noah’s movie would be screening tonight. 

It was her idol’s movie! Annabelle felt that she should show her support for him. How could she miss such an important event? 

“I’m not going!” Annabelle wanted to ask her business partners to go with her to support Noah’s movie premiere. Unfortunately, as soon as she brought it up, Elizabeth turned her down flatly. 

“I have to think about my brother. I don’t want to cause any trouble” Elizabeth was adamant. “I can’t go to the movie premiere.” 

Annabelle tried to persuade her. “Noah’s acting is really good. You don’t know how to appreciate his talent.” 

“In any case, I’m not going.” No matter what she said, Elizabeth refused to go. She was not a young girl. Why should she bother to watch a movie? 

“Hazel…”

“I’ll find someone else to go with you.” Hazel smiled, “Annabelle, you should get Lucas to accompany you.”
