Luna's POV

"Where do I need to take you this evening Ma'am?". Haha Ma'am, so formal and not needed in light of the current situation. "Whittaker Street please. And you can stop the Ma'am business. My name is Luna.". I notice the drivers' slight smile reflect in the rear view mirror. He has a trimmed dark brown moustache, that is kept neatly above his lip, matching a short goatie. His gelled back dark brown hair, looks as hard as a rock from the shine coming from it and I notice in the rear view mirror reflection, that his black jacket coat has an emblem on it but I'm too tired and unfocussed to make it out. "Sorry Ma'am, I mean Miss Luna.". I smile and shrug it off, just wanting this night to be over with. "It's not far from here and when you see a white apartment building with tall black columns, that's me. You can just drop me off out the front I will be ok.". The driver's smile begins to turn to a slight frown, "Unfortunately Miss Luna, I can not do that. I must ensure your safety and make sure you are in your home and safe.". Seriously, what was this guy's deal. I used to walk home from my late shift at the Cafe every night and I always got home safe.

Things weren't that bad around here. "I'm fine. I don't need an escort. I know the area.". He looks back at me in the rear view mirror, a sad look on his face like he doesn't want to accept my answer but knows he will get a fight out of me if he pushes it. He just simply nods his head in agreement. "So, I need to know something...." my mind beginning to wander, "Do you normally offer random ladies you find on dark streets a ride home?". He threw his head back and laughed loudly, before beginning to shake his head. "I mean, come on, it's a little creepy that when I thought someone was following me, you pull up out of nowhere and offer me a ride to safety....so come on....let it out...." I began gesturing with my hand for him to give me some information. He kept a straight face but would glance every so often at the rear view mirror...."Look, I don't even know your name. At least we can start with that.". He smiled, "Mason. My name is Mason and no. I don't normally patrol the streets looking for damsels in distress. My Master sent me on an errand and by chance, I find you.". Hmm....interesting. Just as more thoughts and questions rolled into my head, we pull up outside my apartment complex. The tall white building with the overarching black columns made the place seem a little fancy, but it was anything but. Most of the inside was run down, with cracks and holes in the walls, stains that you would not dare to imagine where they came from. "Well, thanks for the ride Mason. Hope you don't get into too much trouble with your Master for giving me a ride.". He smiled at me through the window as I hopped out of the black, sleek car and turned to say goodbye. "No problem Miss Luna. I'm sure my Master will be pleased with my errand run regardless." A cheeky smile filling his pale, white face. His eyes, I now noticed, were a shimmering grey, that sparkled like the night sky. "Who knows, maybe I'll see you around sometime." I laughed and waved him off. Yeah right! I ain't going back to that club any time soon and I'm definitely not walking home again from there.

The long walk up the 6 flights of stairs to my apartment left me exhausted. I know, there is an elevator, but when my head was still buzzing from all that has occurred in the last few hours, I need something to help me let off some steam and have some time to think. I unlocked my door and slammed it shut behind me, locking the 3 deadbolts and 2 chains as I did. I never truly felt safe here, but I'm guessing its the same for almost any young women that moves to the big city on their own. My apartment doesn't have much in the way of furniture or expensive items but only items that serve a purpose. My armchair faces the open bay windows that let's me view the entire city. It's my comfort spot. I usually fall asleep there with a book quite regularly. My kitchen is quite small with only enough room for one person to fiddle around in there. My bedroom fits just my bed, a small wooden bedside table and has a walk in robe that connects to the bathroom. As I said, it's not all it seems from the outside but it's home to me. I need to shake off the feeling of everything that happened tonight, so I strip off my party clothes and head for a hot shower before climbing into bed. I pull the blankets over my head and quickly drift off to sleep.

I must be dreaming, as I'm standing in the middle of a ballroom. I look down and touch the long silken gown, its a beautiful deep red colour, with black and silver embellishments that reach from my waist to the bottom of the dress. Its tightly fitting and I must say, it hugs my curves a little more than I'm used to. I begin to sway, and am in awe of the movement of the dress and the way it flows. I look up to notice a figure walking towards me. I can't quite make them out, but I notice their eyes straight away. A deep crimson, with golden streaks through them. "My dear, you look stunning. Breath taking even." I feel my cheeks begin to blush and take a step back before I begin to slip. He grabs my hand and pulls me into his chest, wrapping his arms around me. My hands landing on his chest as I steady myself, and I use them to push back to get some distance between us. I can feel his chiselled muscles that are as hard as stone, his heart beating strongly against my palms, the smell of him, intoxicating and overwhelming. I could die right now and be a happy lady. His shirt feels like its made of the finest silk in the world. I run my hands down the white shirt, taking in his masculine physique as much as I can before returning them back to my own dress. I begin to fidget out of nerves before twirling my fingers around the fabric of my dress. I watch my fingers twirl the dress back and forth before he gently places a bent finger under my chin to tilt my head up to meet his gaze. The only thing I can see is those piercing eyes, that are burning into my soul. I feel like I'm connected to him somehow. Like I've know him my whole life. I would dare say that this is because for the past few months, since I moved here, he has been haunting my dreams in one way or another. I am always somewhere amazing and breath taking, and I try as I might to remember details, I never can. Not long ago, I purchased a small journal and began to write in it. It was my way of remembering them. All I know is that when I wake, it still feels like he is here. I miss the feeling of him being near when I wake or breathing in his intoxicating scent.

I jot down notes of what I remembered in my journal as quickly as I can, knowing the entire time I will forget some detail. I always do. 3:14am....every morning is the same. I wake from the dreams always at this time and I can't help but feel there's a meaning to it somewhere. I leave my bed and head out to my armchair. A regular practice for me once I wake from these dreams. I sit down and pull my knitted blanket up to my chin. My Nanna knitted this when I was 5 and it comes everywhere with me. It's my comfort and reminds me of her. I gaze out my bay windows, the starry night sky is softly sprinkled with clouds that allow the moonlight to flood in my windows. It truly was a beautiful night and soon the morning will be here. I pick up my book off the side table and open it to the bookmarked page. Time to get lost in this for a while and forget about tonight and these crazy dreams.
