The Sky People Kingdom

The next day came as everyone was up before the sun and kept going up the stairs till they made it to the gates of the kingdom and the sun was setting on the tip of the mountains. Looking at the golden gates as it was shining brightly like the sun and on the sides of the gates are two bird-like people. Everyone was awestruck by the gates and the two statues of the bird people. Peter walked up to the gate and was about to knock. The gate moved on its own, like it was waiting for their arrival. Peter looked at his friends as they shrugged, looking back at the open gate as there was a white puffy cloud in the way. Peter steps closer to the cloud with Sam, Zoey, Zozo, and Jojo behind him. Reaching out as his pointed finger touched the cloud as it was soft and smoky feeling, the cloud parted away and there it was. The kingdom of the sky-people. There were a lot of birds flying around, many birds, like peacocks, robbins, blue jays, and even some birds that Peter had never seen before. All of them walked into the kingdom, looking around them with fascinated expression. As they are going deeper into the kingdom, they see people, but not just normal people. Birds like people. They have feathers ever were on their bodies and they look at us with human faces but with pointy noses. They have massive wings behind them with the colour of their feather bodies. Peter thought they looked like the tooth fairy from the movie Rise of the Guardians, one of Samie’s (his little sister) favourite movies. Peter steps forward and looks at each of them before kneeling to the white ground floor, so did Sam and the others. Everything was quiet, as Peter didn’t know what to say. Then a sound was above them. Peter looked up and saw a rainbow bird coming down from the sky. Once they landed on the ground, they had a woman ’s body with a silver dress on and her rainbow wings folded behind her. Her piercing gold eyes looked at Peter like he was some prey. Her black hair was fluttering like they were in the water.

“My name is Peter, Peter Williams. These are my friends. Sam, Zoey, Zozo, and Jojo. We used to have two other elves, but one got hurt, so they are staying behind.” Peter said while looking up at her as she looked at him as some of her hair moved in front of her face before moving away.

“Peter Williams…oh yes, I have been waiting for your arrival. Please stand up.” She said in a soft toon.

Everyone stood up and looked at her as she gave a small smile as she had sharp fangs poking out from her smile. With a wave of her hand, every bird flew away and she turned around and walked up the stairs as her throne chair was there. Once she turns back around and sits down on her throne chair that was gold, leading back in her chair while her black hair slowly goes down to her shoulders as she looks at the small group with her gold eyes.

“My name is Breena, the queen and king of the sky-people, including the world of Zarlakarla when the one true king died. Now, Peter, what can I do for you?” Breena said as she looked at him.

“Sofie and Filly told me to come here and talk to you,” Said Peter while Breena looked at him hard wondering what those two ment for them to come to her and talk.

“I see, well to me, you all look hungry. Let’s eat first, then we can talk.” Said Breena with a smile.

“Thank you, your majesty,” Peter said, so did the other in a whisper tone.

“Flick, please come here.” Breena ordered out as a little ball of light appeared from behind the throne chair.

The little ball of light comes down and swirls around Peter and the others as they watch the light till the light goes back up to Breena as she has a small smile. The ball of light goes around Breena’s head before landing in her hand as she had her hand out.

“Flick, could you please show these nice guests to the banquet hall?” Breena said in a soft, kind voice.

“Bezrd, myclum bezzwack.” (Yes, my queen) Flick buzzed while doing a little twirl before going over to Peter.

“Flick will show you the way to the banquet hall. I will join you later. I am waiting for someone that will be here soon.” Breena said while Peter bowed his head.

“Thank you, your majesty,” Said Peter, while Breena smiled at him and bowed her head back.

Flick buzzed in front of Peter’s face as Peter saw a little ball of light and nothing else. Flick led the way and Peter with the others followed him. Flick waits for them to catch up a bit before going ahead of them while Peter and the others are still following the light. Sam walked beside Peter.

“So, what do you think about the queen?” Sam asked as Peter smiled.

“She is beautiful and full of power. I can tell by her eyes. Plus, this kingdom is amazing.” Peter said, while Sam nodded with a smile.

“Yeah, I have to say this place is amazing. Too bad that they only come down for some many years.” Said Sam with a sad voice and Peter just chuckled.

Flick stopped at a massive blue door, Flick buzzed and went through the door and Peter follow but by pushing the door open. There in the room was a long table with floating lanterns and the night sky above with other planets moving slowly in the stars’ night sky. The walls were white with a little bit of beige colour. There were about twenty chairs, including the high chair that was sitting in the middle. The colour of the chairs are navy wood (that came from the land of shadows, and the high chair is gold with white markings around it. Peter and his friends go to the table and sit down and the food that appeared on the table. There was pig, chicken, pork, roast beef, bread, grapes, fruits, and vegetables. There was also wine, water, pints, and fresh honey bee wine. (That the gods made with the sweet nectar from the honeybees honey and mixed it with clear, unflavored wine.) Flick buzzed loudly as plates came on the table where Peter and his friends sat with spoons, forks and knives.

“Well, let’s dig in!” Jojo cried out while reaching over to grab a leg off of chicken and start eating it.

Jojo was with her sister but was eating part of the pig’s legs as they just gobbled the food down while Zoey and Sam were picking what they wanted on their plates before the twins took everything. Peter looks at the food and fills his plate up and starts eating. The food was so luscious he wants to know how they make their food the way they are. There’s also mashed potatoes with corn in it and gravy. Everyone was enjoying their food, as Peter was missing his mother’s home cooking. He felt down by thinking of his mother’s cooking. Just then another plate appeared and there on the plate was homemade pizza with hotdogs inside the buns, and mashed potatoes on top of the hotdogs with melted cheese. Also homemade chocolate that his mothers always made for him when he was sick. Peter looked at the plate and moved the plate that he already had to the side and pulled the plate to be in front of him. Picking up the fork and knife, and cutting into the pizza and taking a bite. Tears filled in his eyes as the food tasted like his mother’s cooking. He took his time eating the luscious food while enjoying the food. Once everyone was full and the table was a bit of a mess from the twins as they are rubbing their big belly as Zoey patted her mouth with a napkin and Sam sit there with his arms cross as for Peter, he put the chocolate in a napkin and fold it and place it in his bag.

“That was appetising!” Jojo called out with a little burp as Sam looked a little disgusted by her actions till Zozo let out a loud bit burp.

Zozo and Jojo look at each other before laughing while Sam looks even more disgusted and huffed as Zoey giggled at this and Peter smiled at them.

“What is it with you dwarves have to be so,” Sam pauses trying to think of a word to describe them.

“Nasty?” Zozo asked.

“Terrible?” Jojo asked before looking at her sister as she looked at Jojo and then looked back at Sam.

“Horrible?” Both of them said at the same time.

Sam thought a bit before nodding his head with his face frown a little before looking normal and looking at the twins. They smiled wide and laughed before looking at Sam.

“Why thank you, kind sir.” Zozo teased before laughing hard while Jojo sat there smiling while leaning on her right hand.

“Why did you say that?” Sam asked while Zoey leaned over and whispered to him.

“If anyone said those things to a dwarf, that means you are saying you like them in that way.” Zoey whispers as Sam looks puzzled before his face turns bright red and looks at the twins as both of them are now smiling at him.

“Um…Peter?” Sam looked over at Peter as Peter held up his hands.

“Sorry, this is your jar in the pickle.” Said Peter with a little laugh.

“Great…” Sam looks at the twins as they smile at him. “You know I really don’t like you guys that way, I just like you as a friend.” Sam said as both of the twins’ smiles never dropped but smiled more.

“We know that!” Zozo and Jojo said together before laughing and started talking to each other as Sam sighed.

Peter chuckled and sat there and waited till Breena came in and he was wondering why she has not come in yet. Maybe she was busy with that person who she was waiting for. The doors were open and there was Breena as she walked in and behind her was a fairy that he had not seen for a while. Raine Astar.
