Chapter 42

Alexa's POV

“Princess, what do you mean you have two wolves?”

“Can we talk about this later? I need to go address the pack so people can make up their minds about what they want to do. Colter got up off the bed and came over to me and wrapped his arms around me, and kissed the top of my head.

“Princess, we will figure this out, and I will be with you for everything"

Ilet out a big breath because I didn't know how he would feel, but he just keeps surprising me.

“Mate loves us,” said Storm, my other wolf. She was just in love with him as Jade.

“Yes, mate loves us,” said Jade.

This whole two-wolf thing is going to take some getting used to. I now had two voices to contend with.

“We need to get down there," I said as I pulled away from Colter.

He grabbed my hand, and we walked out of my room. When we made it to the second landing, we found Liam and Sloane coming out of their room. Sloane ran up to me and threw her arms around me.

“Lex, you had me worried. Are you OK?"

“Iam fine. I just need to get this over with and process a few things."

“Well, Iam here if you need me."

I didn’t reply, but we continued down the stairs. When we made it to the conference room, people had already started to file in and were talking amongst themselves. The four of us headed up to the platform and waited for the rest of everyone to ge there.

“Princess, are you nervous?”

“No, I will be fine. I've known these people all of my life!’

He leaned in and placed a kiss on my cheek. He really had this PDA thing down. I wasn't complaining. I looked up, and it looked like everyone was here, 50 I got up and started to go to the podium, and Colter got up with me. He was showing me support by coming up there. I stepped up to the microphone and tapped on it a few times to make sure that it was on. It wa: and it got everyone's attention. I didn't notice it, but the four council members had made it and were sitting up front watching me.

“Welcome everyone. I have a few announcements to make. The first is that Ryan is dead. He had committed some horrific crimes and has now paid for those. Luna Cheryl is also dead for those same crimes. I will not be discussing those with you. I anyone has anything that they would like to discuss with me regarding those crimes, please see me later. The previous Alph: Robert is missing. We will be starting a search for him so that he can also be brought to justice for the crimes he has committed. If anyone knows of his were abouts and you chose not to tell us, there will be severe consequences.”

The room became a buzz with chatter. As people were talking about the death of both Ryan and Cheryl.

“Please, I am not done. Unfortunately, Alpha Robert has run this pack dry, as I am sure you can tell by the state everything is in. There is no money and at this time I am not sure what he has done with it, but it has left me no choice but to merge our pack with Alpha Colter’s pack, the Full Moon Pack.”

The room was silent. You could hear a pin drop. I was waiting for anyone who had questions to stand up and ask, and it didn't take long for a big man in the back to stand up.

“What do you mean we are merging with his pack?”

“Alpha Colter is my mate and has agreed to help all of us. It may take a while to get everything done, but we will all be moving there. If you do not wish to come with us, Alpha Colter has arranged for another pack to take you in as well, and if you don’t want to do that, you are free to go where you want."

“When is this taking place?” A woman in the back asked.

“This is something that we have yet to figure out, but we will be discussing it soon and will communicate everything with you. We will need to know what you would like to do by the end of the day tomorrow, and then we can formulate a plan for moving from there. If you would like to go to another pack, you need to see me by tomorrow. If I don't hear from you by ther I will assume that you will be coming with us.”

I stepped down from the podium because I was done speaking. They knew their options. There was nothing left to discuss. I grabbed Colter’s hand and left the conference room. I went straight back up to my room.

“Mark mate,” Storm said.

“Storm, I can't just mark him. He needs to give us permission.”

“Lex, he wants it, I promise.” Jade piped in.

“Seriously, you guys need to chill. It will happen when it happens.”

“Princess, we need to talk. Please tell me what is going on in that pretty little head of yours." He said as we got to my room. “Well, it's full of voices now," I said.

“What is your new wolf's name?”

“Storm.”

“What is she like?”

“Well, she likes to talk, and her and Jade seem to get along great.”

“That's great. Do you want to talk about your brother and mother?”

“Not really, but I can tell you they were actually horrible people, and I don't know how I lived with them my whole life and never saw it”

“People can hide things easily from you. Just know that I am here whenever you are ready to talk”

“Thank you.”

“Aubree is out of surgery and doing great.”

“Oh crap, I forgot I was supposed to be there with her when she woke up. I have to go" I said, jumping up.

“Princess, she is OK, I have guards there with her, and Liam went to visit her and explained everything that has happened. Just relax and rest a little”

“I need to go try and hack into that laptop and figure out what is on there. I know my brother said all the passwords were written down, but I don't know where he kept them. I need to do another search.”

“I can help you with that”

We got up and left my room and headed back to the office, but then it dawned on me that we hadn't looked in my parent's room.

“Colter, wait, we haven't looked in my parent's room. They never let me in there. There could be things in there."

I'turned and went to their room. When I opened the door, I was shocked by all the lavish things that they had. Everything wa over the top. Huge bed, expensive furniture, a large television, and so much more.

“Well, they definitely didn't have a problem spending money on themselves,” Colter said.

“Apparently. They always put money in my account, so I never questioned anything.”

We continued to look through things. I went through their nightstands and didn't find anything, so I decided to go through their closet. I walked in, and it was even more ridiculous than their bedroom. The expensive dresses my mom had and the jewelry. I started to pull the boxes down but found nothing but shoes in them. I kept looking when I found a little doorway cut into the floor. I lifted it up and found another box. Something told me that this box held something more sinister in it. “Colter, I think I found something” I hollered at him. “What is it, princess?”

“I found a box hidden in a secret door on the floor" I said, holding up the box for him.

We both jumped up because, before we could open the box, the alarm bells went off, signaling we were under attack. We rar out of the room and headed outside. There were wolves everywhere fighting. I could feel Storm pushing forward to shift and take over, and I let her. She was the complete opposite of Jade. Where Jade had dark fur, she had light, and where she had light fur, Jade had dark. Their markings were identical, however.

She let out the loudest roar I've ever heard. It had some stopping their fighting and looking at me, but I took that time to start my attack. I started taking down as many rouges as I could. It was like Storm was a killing machine. She saw a rouge an; had them down before they knew what hit them.

We started looking around to see if anyone in my pack was in trouble, and that's when I saw a young warrior with one on his back and struggling. I took off running towards them and jumped right before I got there and tackled this rouge off of him and ripped their neck out, and moved on to the next one. We continue to kill wolves as we come up to them.

I could see someone along the tree line just watching. I couldn't make out who it was, but I definitely saw someone there. It looked like we had the upper hand, and they were starting to retreat. I shifted back and started checking on anyone who may be hurt.

Someone came up and handed me a shirt that I put on, and it came down to my knees. Thankfully, because I was naked. Not that we weren't used to being naked around people, but it was nice to be covered up.

“Alexa, you can mind link everyone here,” Storm said.

“What? I am not part of any of these packs officially.”

“I know, but you can with my help. Just focus on a broad mind link and everyone that is here.”

“Everyone, please let's get our injured to the hospital,’ I linked out.

Everyone stopped and looked at me since they could hear me, but they quickly recovered from their shock and got busy. I was trying to help people up and check their injuries. Most seemed minor, and we didn't have any lost lives.

“Princess, are you OK?" Colter came up to me and asked.

“I am fine. Are you OK?"

“All good, and I think everyone is going to be OK."

We got back to cleaning up and helping people who needed it. When everyone was taken care of, we headed back to the pack house to get a quick shower and go back to my parent's room. As soon as we walked into the room, we could hear Colter’s phone going off. He walked over and answered it.

I went and got in the shower while he was on the phone. I made it quick and washed my body and hair really fast. I got out and went to my closet to get dressed when I could hear Colter yelling at someone on the other end.

I walked out, and just as he was hanging up.

“What's wrong?” I asked.

“Your dad attacked Julian's pack today, and I think this attack may have been linked. We need to get the Silver Moon pack moved as quickly as possible. I don't want to be a sitting duck, and if we combine forces, we will be stronger.”

“We can get everyone moved and sort through everything once we get there. Why do you think that it was my dad behind today’s attack?”

“Because he told Julian that he had ruined his life and is going after everyone involved. I think there is more going on than we know.”

“We need to go to their room and take a look at what is in that box”

We got up and went back to my parent's room and found the box right where we left it. I bent down and picked it up and walked to the bed, and sat down. For some reason, I was nervous about opening this.

“Lex, we have to figure out what your dad was involved with," Jade said.
