Chapter 87

Colter's POV

When I took Alexa up to our room so she could lie down and she started crying. I couldn't leave her, not until she was asleep I had a pile of paperwork to go through. I was still trying to sort out merging her pack with ours. I also had to get the same done on her father's pack. He has offered to help but when he came here he officially retired and so I didn't want to make him do it.

After she fell asleep I gently got out from under her and headed back to my office. I got there and went back to my paperwork and had been at it for a while when she mind-linked me asking where I was. I could tell that she was crying. That's when all hell broke loose. She thinks I don't want her, which is so far from the truth. She ran from me and fell in the bathroom and broke her wrist. I felt so guilty. If I would have just stayed with her she wouldn't be in extra pain.

We've been at the hospital for a few hours now and she is slowly making progress. The doctor said it could take a while since itt was her first. She has been refusing all pain meds saying she doesn't want a drugged-up pup. Sloane and I've tried telling her it won't drug the baby or her but she is stubborn and won't listen.

“Princess, what do you need? What will help?"

“You should have never had sex with me. Go back and change that"

“If I remember correctly you are the one who started it.”

She just growled at me and rolled away.

“Stop pissing off mate. She hurts and needs us right now,” Grey linked me.

“She doesn't want me around her right now. Do you have any better suggestions?”

“Rub her back. Rub her head like she likes. Find a way to touch her. sometimes that helps ease the pain”

I got up and went to her bed and started to rub her back and I could feel her relax slightly.

“Ym so sorry. I know I'm not being nice but I can't help it. Something is wrong with me," She said as she started crying again. “loane give us a few minutes I mind-linked her.

She left and I crawled into bed with Alexa, she turned to me and I just held her as she cried and then a contraction hit and her whole body tensed up.

“Princess you need to relax as much as you can. Please consider some type of pain relief”

“No.”

Ten hours later and we still didn't have a pup. The doctor was starting to get worried because she hadn't really progressed and is pushing for an epidural.

“Luna, I know you don't want it but I promise it will help. I think you're not progressing because you can't relax and you are going to run out of time before we have to do a c-section,” the doctor urged her.

“Fine but I'm not happy about it”

I went back to rubbing her back as this seemed to help slightly. The doctor walked out and came back ten minutes later. “Alpha please step outside while we do this”

I kissed her head and stepped out with Sloane.

“Don't worry she will be ok” Sloane said.

“I know but I hate seeing her in pain”

We both just stood there waiting for the doctor. It felt like forever before they finally came out.

“You can go back in," the doctor told us.

We walked in and for the first time in hours, she looked a little bit comfortable.

“How are you feeling princess?”

“Why didn't you tell me to get this sooner?”

Was she for real right now? We've tried so many times.

She started laughing and says “you should see your face right now!” and started laughing again.

“I can see you feel better!”

“Yes and 'm sorry I know I've been difficult”

“Princess you have nothing to be sorry for. You are doing all the work here and it's ok”

We all settled down and tried to get some sleep. I had crawled into bed with Alexa and just held her and rubbed her head like she likes. She finally fell asleep and so did I.

The doctor walking in woke us all up.

“Luna let's see if you've made any progress”

I got up off the bed and let the doctor do her exam. I had to look away because it was awkward as F**k.

“Luna the epidural is working. You are getting close. You are at an eight and need to be a ten. So it shouldn't be long” The doctor washed her hands and walked out.

“Princess you're doing an amazing job. I can't believe we're going to be parents soon."

“I am going to let you guys be and just let me know when the baby is here” Sloane suddenly announced.

She got up and kissed Alexa's cheek and walked out.

“What was that about? I thought you wanted her here?”

“I want it to be us when this baby arrives and she understood.”

I walked over and grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it. I had my ring ready to ask her to be my Luna and wife. I wanted to do this so much sooner but after she found out she was pregnant I wanted to wait until the pup was here. “Have you thought about any names?” She asked me.

“No not really, what about you?”

“Well for a girl I really like the name Taylor but I have no clue if it is a boy”

“I like Taylor. If it's a girl that will be here be her name."

She just smiled at me. I was racking my brain for a boy's name but was coming up short.

“You could always name him Grey,” My wold linked me.

“You want me to name my son after my wolf?"

“Ya, there is no better name!”

“There is I just haven't come up with it yet"

He cut our link and went huffed when he flopped down in my head.

“What about Kasen?"

“I don't know it's kind of weird" She said.

“Ok, I will keep thinking”

Nothing was coming to me. I don't know how long I had zoned out thinking but Alexa was letting out little snores. I closed m eyes trying to join her and I did for a while until she shook my hand to wake me.

“Colt something is wrong?” She said through tears.

“What do you mean?”

“I can feel something. We need a doctor”

She looked terrified. I ran out of the room and grabbed the first nurse I found and dragged her back in.

“What's wrong Luna?”

“I don't know I feel something down there and it doesn't feel right”

“Let me do a quick exam and then we will call the doctor”

Iturned so I couldn't see and the nurse did her exam.

“Luna everything is fine. You're just fully dilated and it's time to have your baby. I am just going to get the doctor here.”

I turned back around and you could see the nurse mind linking.

“Ok she says to start pushing and she will be right here.”

Everything became a blur. It was exciting and scary at the same time. I was feeling emotions I'd never felt before but I couldn't wait to meet our pup.

The doctor showed up and Alexa kept pushing but it seemed nothing was happening. I don't know how long she tried but I could see her energy leaving her.

“Ok Luna, you're going to have to push really hard. This is a big pup.”

I was holding her leg and I could see everything but wasn't sure if I really wanted to but I wouldn't leave her ever.

She pushed hard and was screaming and I could see the head start to come out and then nothing.

I opened my eyes to a nurse waving something under my nose.

“Welcome back Alpha. How do you feel?”

“Did I miss it? What happened?”

“Ym sorry sir, you passed out and it's not like she can just stop what she was doing” the doctor said,

Ijumped up as fast as I could and there sat a slimy bloody gross but the most beautiful pup I've ever seen laying on my mate's chest.

“I am so sorry. I missed it. I don’t know how that happened” I said as I walked to her.

She had tears in her eyes as she looked at me.

“Come meet our pup,” She said.

“What is it?"

“We waited for you before I looked."

She moved the pup and that's when I saw I had a boy.

“We have a boy. We have a son. Oh, goddess a boy”

I leaned down and kissed her. We were both crying now. The nurse came over and took him so he could be cleaned up and measured.

“Princess you did amazing. He is perfect. You are perfect. I can't believe we are parents.”

The nurse walked back over and placed him in Alexa’s arms and told us congratulations.

“He weighed 9lbs 7oz and was 23 inches long. A strong future Alpha,” She said before leaving the room.

Alexa started crying again and just held him up to her face.

“Why are you crying, Princess?"

“I don’t know. I just can't stop,” She sobbed out.

I crawled into bed with her and just held both of them while she cried.

“Do you want to hold him?"

“Yes.”

She handed him to me and I moved to the chair beside her. He was asleep and I could hear her yawning.

“Princess get some sleep. You have to be exhausted. We will be right here.”

She closed her eyes and I stayed there looking at the both of them. I had a small wave of sadness hit me as I realized my parents would never meet him. They would have loved to be grandparents. Maybe we could give him my dad's name as a middle name.

I don't know how long she slept but our pup started crying and she was instantly awake.

“What's wrong with him?" She asked.

“I don’t know."

“Hand him here”

I handed him to her and she dropped her shirt and tried to nurse him. It must have been what was wrong because he latched on and stopped crying.

I could see a wince of pain cross her face.

“Does it hurt?” I asked her.

“A little bit”

“You don't have to. He can formula’

“No this is better for him.”

“That's great but what about a first name?”

“I guess we need one of those don't we.”

“What about Callen john?” She asked.

I mulled it over a few times in my head and I liked it. It was different but not so different that it was weird.

“I think it's perfect”

“Me too!”

someone knocked on the door and in flew Sloane and Liam.

“Let me see that baby!” She squealed as she ran to her bed.

“What is it, a boy or girl?” Sloane asked as she sat down next to her.

“This is Callen John,” Alexa said as she stroked his head. He was still nursing.

“I love that. I am so happy for you,” Sloane said crying.

These girls and their tears today are killing me.

“Congrats Alpha,” Liam said.

The room quickly filled up. Mac and Aubree showed up along with Alexa's dad and his wife.

After everyone had been here a while I kicked everyone out. I could see Alexa getting overwhelmed and she looked flat exhausted.

“Thank you” She said after everyone was gone.
