Alpha Connor's chilly gaze fell on the head rolling on the floor then to Carey's body.

If only he had told him the truth, Alpha Connor could have at least spared him.

He could have done that but after everything, he still had the guts to lie to his face.

He slowly turned his head towards Dolphus direction whose face was livid and the two guards from earlier.

They both stood rooted in their place after what Alpha Connor just did.

To them, they haven't seen something as terrifying as this.

“You shouldn't be worried about me, I will be fine by myself” he said.

Without no any other way to argue with Alpha Connor, Dolphus nodded his head.

“Yes Alpha king” he bowed and left leaving Alpha Connor to walk to his door by himself.

His mind was clouded with different thoughts. His emotions were abstruse to himself.

He couldn't understand how he feels. It confused him the more as he try to assure himself of the hatred he has for Daciana but then, he couldn't stand her being hurt.

It must be because of his wolf's aggression and protectiveness.

Alpha Connor knows his rouge and cougar will never accept her yet,

they didn't show any sign of disapproval while he was infuriated about her being in that condition because of someone's selfish desires.

There is no way he will accept her,not her kind. Not when she is an Omega. His abnegation towards her is strong and changeless.

Alpha Connor forced himself to believe that as long as they are from the same specie, they'd have the same character. That female seems to be different but what if she is pretending to gain his favour? What if she is pretending so that she will be saved from dying?

He shook his head and entered into his room with the standby guards bowing to him.

He should clean up first, right now, he isn't in a good frame of mind to see anyone. He'd rather stay alone for sometime, but his mind wouldn't stay far away from that female and when she'd be awake.

He is amorously in need of her, maybe her body will go in as the right sentence.

He is growing attached to her, the kind of attachment he likes and hates.

Daciana woke up with a throbbing headache, she winced at the sudden pain that welcomed her back to life.

Athin line appeared on her forehead, she looked around the room only to find Kaira lying on the floor beside her bed. What is she doing there on the floor and why is Kaira in her room? She searched her mind for an answer but came up with nothing.

She tried to stand up by placing her hands on the bed forgetting that she has an injury on her arm.

She ended up wincing seconds later, that woke Kaira up from her light sleep.

Her eyes widened on seeing her Queen awake.

“My Queen, oh you are finally awake. I was so worried, I thought you were never going to wake up”

She said pulling Daciana into a tight hug, choking and hurting her arm but the overly excited female didn't seem to notice not until Daciana called her attention to it.

“Iam sorry my Queen, I got too carried away seeing you awake” Kaira said pulling out of the hug as possible as she can. “What happened? How long was I out and why?" Daciana queried. Kaira's face brighten elatedly then frowned afterwards. “Do you not remember what happened?” She asked searching Daciana’s eyes for answers and helped her sit-up after seeing her struggling to do so.

Daciana’s mind wandered back, flashes of her carrying bricks popped up in her head, Carey howling insults at her and Kaira fighting for her.

She stared at Kaira without saying anything, no one has ever stood up for her since she was a pup.

since her mum died, she was raised and taken in as slaves.

No one cared for her, not the Masters that kept selling her from one person to another just to make her work harder. Kaira caring so much about her made her cried, she didn’t cry because of the pain. She cried because someone stood up for her for the first time in her life.

She was dragged afterwards by Kaira and couldn't remember what happened next? Her mind became a little fuzzy.

She couldn't remember anything else happening and how she ended up in her room, on her bed.

And Carey? What if he decides to hunt Kaira for slapping him? Daciana’s amber eyes dilated in fear of someone getting hurt because of her.

She wouldn't be able to hear the guilt, it will weigh her forever.

“Are you okay my Queen? You are crying, is your arm still hurting you that much? Should I call the medicine man? Where else are you hurting? Please wipe your tears, I will inform him immediately”

Kaira rant in a worried tone, aside from the love she has for Daciana, she wouldn't want to be punished by Alpha Connor. What if he sees her crying and blames Kaira for it?

Daciana shook her head gesturing her hand to stop Kaira before she spoke up in a low voice.

“My arms hurt Kaira but not that serious, I am fine. No need to call anyone”

Kaira was cut off with the opening sound of the door.

“Kaira dear is the Luna awa...” Lynne paused on seeing Daciana seated on the bed.

The two young females’ eyes snapped to her.

“Luna, you are finally awake. I almost died of anxiety and anxiousness, I am so glad you are awake”

Lynne said, her eyes glistering as she stepped into the room.

Daciana smiled at her, she doesn't know what to say back to her.

“How are you feeling? Does your arm still hurt that much?” Lynne asked while Daciana nodded.

“It still sting but I think it is a little bit better now” she replied trying to keep a smile on her face despite the headache that seems like it's having a good time in her head.

“That's an improvement, the most important thing is that you are awake and nothing else happened to you Luna” Lynne replied.

Daciana didn’t understand what she meant by that but still nodded her head.

“Your arm will heal before you know it” Kaira added.

Daciana couldn't help the genuine smile that crept up on her face.

This two people she met here are blessings to her.

What could she have done without Lynne and Kaira?

“Thank you” she replied glancing from one person to the other in gratitude.

Lynne stared at the pale looking Luna and shook her head, she looks to weak to her to even move.

How's she going to walk on her feet then? She can't disobey their King’s order too.

“I am sorry you won't be having any more time to rest Luna, I wish I can do something about that” she said.

Both Daciana and Kaira shot her a confused stare.

“Am I resuming my work immediately?” Daciana asked weakly still maintaining the smile on her face to ease Lynn's mind. She could see the guilt that's washing over her. Daciana will understand if it's work, it's not Lynne's fault, she is just followin; instructions from her master.

She wouldn't blame the old woman for anything but how will she work with a left hand?

“No Luna, that's not the case. It's nothing related to work” Lynne quickly corrected seeing confliction in Daciana’s eyes. Daciana became more confused as to why she couldn't rest if she is not going to mine.

She stared at Lynne and waited patiently to say something.

“The Alpha king request your presence immediately, he asked you should be brought to his quarters the moment you are awake Luna”
