Graciela's POV

It's been three days since the king let me out of the castle. He gave me some boys, giving us instructions on how to find the Mafia Lord, Marco Lorenzo. We lodged in a fancy five-star hotel that belongs to king Dominic. I was taken to the VIP suite in his hotel, with his guards following me around to keep me safe, treating me like a queen.

He is letting me his personal suite, sending his guards to assist me in my search for the Mafia lord, giving me enough money to help me pay my debt, and still having enough money left to take care of my family. Its all a big mystery to me, I have no freereg idea why he is helping me, I don't even know how he got to know about my debt. Somehow, he got to find out about my problems and he didn't hate me for it instead, he chose to help me. I know I should be so grateful to him for putting in such a great effort to save my life, but I still can't help thinking that there is more to all of this, he must have a reason for doing all this.

Don't blame me for thinking rationally, I just have to say it as it is. There is something else going on here and I intend to find out what it is, he is not some good Samaritan that would just decide to be helping me, there is something else prompting him to do all this for and I'm going to find out everything in due time, but first, I need to pay off my debts and get Lucas Dorego and the drug lord off my back, then I'll find out how king Dominic found out about my problems and why the hell dic he not simply kick me out of his castle, why is he helping me instead, what does he stand to gain from helping me. I'm pretty sure that he isn't doing this because of some romantic interest he has for me, he has Bethany for that so he doesn't need m ago that. It's got to be something else and that is why I am so worried, I have no ticking idea what he would want from a nobody like me. I just hope that I'm able to give him what he wants, I hope I have what he takes to repay this kindness that he has shown me, it would be such a big shame if I can't give him what he wants, he would have spent all this money for nothing, it would be such a big waste of time and money. I shudder to think of what his reaction would be when he finds out that I'm just a useless crackhead and a stripper, I have nothing to pay him back with.

King Dominic told me that he had been secretly helping me find my mom, but he has not been successful because Lucas hac left no trail that he could follow and he changed hideout, making it impossible for anyone to find him. After settling down in my suite, I took a trip to our house to see if mom is back, but she wasn't back still. Our house looks cold and lonely and it has begun collecting dust already. It's been so long since my mom got missing, just don't know why they would want to hurt her, she is not fit for such treatment, she is sick and weak, and I'm not sure she would survive for long. We have to find her, we have to find her soon before they kill her. I've been trying to call Lucas Dorego but he is not taking my call anymore.

He stopped taking my calls since he called to warn me about my association with King Dominic. He had made it clear to me that King Dominic would not be able to save me from his hands. I guess King Dominic must have known that he won't be abl to save me, that is why he had referred me to the one person that can help me get out of this problem alive, Marco Lorenzo. As I stood in our little living room, I couldn't help thinking about my family and all the things that have happened this past few months. Damnit! What the f**k am I even doing here, I should have let the guards come in alone. I knew she won't be there, but I just have to go over to clear all doubts. I have money in this house as well, how the hell did I forget about this, what am I even thinking. All my previous savings, all the money I've been saving to use in paying up my debts is in this house. I kept it in my room, under the floorboards, that is where I always hide anything that I don't want my mom or my sisters to see which is mainly money and hard drugs. I ran int my room, with the two guards following closely behind me, calling out to me, telling me to hold on. I ignored it and continue heading deeper into the house, heading to my room. When I got into the room, I pushed the mini couch out of the way, pulling out the floorboards one after the other, and just like I thought, it was completely empty, all my money has been stolen by that evi, heartless drug lord, Lucas Dorego.

King Dominic is right. Even if I manage to pay off my debt, there is no way the drug lot is letting me go, he has no plans of releasing me. I guess he plans to make me his slave forever, or worse, yet, kill me. I can't help wondering how they found my money, nobody else knows that I have a secret place to hide things in my room, I'm the only one who knows about it, and I didn't tell anyone, not even my family and friends. Nobody knows about it, so I'm pretty certain that nobody would tell Luca about it. This goes a long way to prove that he has been watching me for a long time now, he must have put someone close by to be stalking me, that is the only possible explanation. He took away all my money, leaving a note behind for me to find. He knows why I've been keeping that money, he knows I plan to settle my debt and be free, but he doesn't want that, he wants me to pay with my life, but I won't let him get the satisfaction of seeing me dead. I won't shed one more drop of tears anymore, this time, I'm taking the bull by the horn and I'm facing him squarely. I picked up the note and opened it slowly, “Thanks for the stipends Carol, I'm sure you know that this money doesn't cover even a quarter of your debts. Don't forget the additional interest that you just incurred by running to that Coward of a king. He is a spineless Coward and he can never save you from me. If you don't bring my money before the end of the week, your mom does, and if you try to trick me, if you come along with anyone, she still does. I know king Dominic said I shoul never leave their sights, but my mom's life is at risk here, I have to try and save her. I would have followed the instructions that Lucas penned down on his note, I would have gone alone and given him his money in full with all the outrageous interest that he is asking for, but I can't go against King Dominic, not after all he has done for me, not after his men just saw the address that was left for me.

They reported back to king Dominic and he ordered them to speed up our search for the Mafia lord, but it's becoming more difficult to find him every f*****g day. I pleaded with him to let me try first and see if Lucas would finally accept his money and free my mom and I, but he wasn't taking any chances. I think he knows more than he is telling me, when he talks about Lucas Dorego, he talks like someone who knows Lucas on a personal level, he speaks with so much conviction when he tells me that Lucas will never let me go, it seems like he has had dealings with Lucas before, that is why he is doing all this to try and stop him. Some day, when this is all over, 'm going to find out the truth about all this, but right now, I have to do exactl what he is asking.

We followed his instruction, searching everywhere for the Mafia lord, but it seem like he has fallen off the surface of the earth. The clues and address's that we received from the mafia lord turned out to be fake. For three days we have been searching for him, calling and dropping numerous messages to him, but he never responded to any of them, it was as if he has disappeared suddenly. I couldn't sit still and I couldn't think straight. I want to follow his instructions, I really want to, but my mom's life is in danger, I just can't wait any longer.

I think it's high time I stop listening to anyone. I have to at least try and see if Lucas would accept this money. There is no harm in trial right, I have to put in an effort to save her. It is said that he is heartless and evil, but even at that, he is a “money-hungry bastard and he is very greedy, so greedy that he would never let a debtor go scot-free.
