Marco Lorenzo's POV

Lucas Durego...

I knew he was a bastard, but I did not expect him to be so smart. He had tricked my men, he wasn't at the location that we thought he would be in, before we got to his last known base, he had cleared out and left, abandoning the building and all his properties. It's a good thing that I had asked my boys to first tap into the buildings security camera before we moved in, if we had all gone in together, we would have been killed in that building, I would have been dead right now if I was not smart enough and very observant.

When we saw that the building was completely empty, I knew immediately that something wasn't right. I sent two guys to go in first and check it out and I regretted my actions immediately when their footsteps triggered the bomb that was planted in the building. Lucas had planted a motion sensor bomb on the building before he left, he had known that we were coming and he had planted a bomb in the building, setting a trap for us. I lost two men as the charges won't off, while the rest of us sustained minor injuries.

He had known that we were coming, and I know exactly how he got to know that. He wants me to doubt my boys, but I won't let him get into my head, I won't let him. I know his tricks, I was stupid enough to fall for it the first time, but not again, no, not anymore. He wants me to question the loyalty of my boys, he wants me to think that I have a mole in my camp, but that" alie, it's just not true. I vetted every one of these guys myself, I personally did a background check on all of them, so I'm pretty sure that they would never betray me, besides, they know what is at stake here, they know what they stand to lose if I find out that they are stitching on me. I know what Lucas did, he knew that I was coming for him, he knew I was close to finding out his hideout, so he got out before I could locate and he put words out on the street, telling them to give out his location to anyone that comes to ask fc it. He knows I would ask for it, he knows I would send my boys to the street to find out his location, he asked them to lead me straight to his doorstep because he knows that he has set a trap for us.

I have to give it to him, he is one hell of a man, so smart and over calculative, but not today. No, not today. Today, I'm out to get him and he would never escape from me. I sent my guys back to the street, giving them strict warnings to find me the guys that had led us to that location. I have guys on the street too, so I know how these street snitches operate. There is a popular saying that “You can get any information you need on the street, you just have to know who to ask."

I know how they go about their jobs, I know about the guys they use for their undercover operations. They make it their goal to find out everything about the drug lords and the Mafia, they know everything, I mean everything. I did not want to use brute force because I wanted to do things the right way. I had honored them by sending my boys to buy information from them. But they deceived me, they f*****g breached our contract. They knew about the bomb, they f*****g knew and they didn't say a word about it, not a f*****g word, not even hinting at my boys. Because of their misplaced loyalty which I always see as stupidity, because of them I lost two guys today, I mean two of my best guys.

I'm going to get what I'm searching for, I'm going to find out where Lucas is hiding out. I'l get the real location out of them and time, I ain't paying a dime. That's what they will get for deceiving me the first time. I sent my guys to go back to the street and fetch me Drake Murray and two of his right-hand men. Drake used to be one of my rivals, he had wanted to compete with me in the cartel and steal the title Mafia lord, but I had fought him for my title and I defeated him effortlessly and I retained y title as Mafia Lord. He knew he couldn't defeat me, so he settled on the street and after a few months, he was able to control the information on the streets and he became the head of the street snitches. I don't know if he had hidden information from me as payback for what had transpired between us in the past, but what I know is that Drake know everything that is happening in the street, and before noon today, he is going to spill everything he knows or he loses his life.

He should have known better, he should never have tried to fool me in the first place. Or maybe he wants to go at it a secon: time, maybe he is just bidding for a second beatdown. He knows he doesn't stand a chance to win a fight against me, despit his broad chest and abs, despite his muscles and huge body, I can still take him down without breaking a sweat, and that is exactly what I'm going to do today. I'm going to make him talk, and after he spills out everything he knows, I'll make him pay for lying to me and making me lose two men. I won't let it slide this time, I'm not the Marco they used to know, I've been through hell and back and I've learned my lesson about trust and pity. I'l use him as an example and I'm sure he would get the word out to everyone who doesn't know already that I'm back, Marco Lorenzo is back, and this time, I don't take s**t fror anyone, I mean, no one at all.

I went home and waited for their arrival while I asked some guys to prepare the basement for their arrival. They know the drill, they know how I love to torture my prisoners, I won't spare anyone, not since I fell in love with that b***h and got my heartbroken. The old Marco was weak and lenient, that is why they could get to me easily. When I got the call that they were on their way with Drake and his two top guys, I went to the dungeon, sat down patiently, and waited for them. I watched as they dragged them into the dungeon, forcing them to kneel before me. I sat in the dark corner, watching their every move, but they couldn't see me yet, only my boys know that I'm in there.

“Hi Drake, did you miss me?" I asked with a smirk on my face, although they couldn't see it, but I'm pretty sure that they could hear it in my tone of voice.

“What the hell man, why the hell would you do this?" he asked me in shock, straining his eyes to search for me in the darkness.

“Why don't we skip this pretense and get right to business, Drake. You know what you have done, you know why I brought you here, why don't you save both our times and tell me exactly what I want to know." I told him pointedly, keeping my tone flat to hide how I truly feel. I know he can't see my face right now, if he could, he would know that I'm not in the mood to banter words with him.

“This is not how we work, you know it. The street has always been free from the Cartels, we only share information if we wan to. You should know that by now, Lorenzo. You can't force us to talk if we don't want to. My boys and I go by a strict code anc if you don't follow the code, we won't transact any business with you." He threatened in a fierce tone, using his words to hid his fear. But I could still hear it in his voice and I know that he is more than terrified right now.

“Don't push me, Drake, I am still toying with the idea of shooting you right where you stand. You have no idea what you have done, do you? I lot two guys, Drake, two f*****g guys. You had better start talking right now or I swear I'm going to...

“To do what?" he asked back fiercely, cutting my words short, smiling evily.

“You stay holed up for years and you suddenly appear and you think things would remain the way it was before you left, right. Well let me burst your bubble, Lorenzo, I'm not scared of you, not one bit. You lost all right to that position when you f**+++g abandoned it and ran away to God knows where. I own the streets and I ain't telling you s**t!" he spat out in disgus smirking evilly.
