Dominic's POV

Is it weird that I want to drag Bethany out of this house and keep her far away from her own father?

Yeah, I know I'm being paranoid. Don't blame me, I have so much on my plate right now, I can't bear it if something happens to her, I'l just break down. Everything is just happening so fast and it's so overwhelming. My boys are still being held by Lorenzo and he is bent on keeping them there until he gets them to talk. I really don't blame him for being so careful, if you've been through hell like him, you would be forced to play smart in everything. I know he'll come around, I just have to give ita little time, besides, I now have Graciela in there. There is no way she would turn her back on me, at some point, she would be forced to help out and speak up for the boys that had kept her safe when she first got back to the city. Even if she doesn't want to help me, I'm sure she would come around when Bethany talks to her, or better yet, I can have Dwayne talk tc her sister Fiona. She is practically a part of the pack now, so I'm pretty sure that she can help us convince her sister to speak to her boyfriend on our behalf. 'm sure she wouldn't want us to lose this war, that would mean death for her best friend anc her kid sister. She has so much at stake here, she has to do something to help us, she won't turn her back on family right? Well, I hope not.

I spoke to a few guards, trying to find out if they have seen anything out of the ordinary, but they all had the same response They don't know anything and they haven't seen anything. I can't believe that I don't trust my own warriors, how did I even get here, how did I let things get too complicated, how did Ashford find his way into my team. That guy is nothing but a snake, a slithering serpent, that's what he is. There is no way he could have gotten past my security system the only plausible explanation here is that he had someone on the inside already. It's Robert, it's got to be him. Everything points to him, my gut is telling me that it's him, and trust me, my hunch is always correct. Not to mention the fact that I've dealt with this man before, I know just how desperate he can be when he wants to get something. He loves his Alpha title and he is ready to do anything to retain his title. I thought locking him with the other Alphas would tame his selfish desires and greed but I was wrong. He would never change, no matter how hard I try and that is why I don't want Bethany anywhere around him. He is nothing but bad news, he could hurt her, or worse still, he could try and convince her to get involved in his tricky business and that could ruin our relationship.

She had insisted on coming here, I guess she doesn't want to condemn her father based on my words alone. She wants to see it for herself, she wants to confirm it for herself. I just hope she doesn't get hurt in the process, this guy is bad luck, I jus know it. I went about my normal routine, talking to the guards, and questioning everyone that could have some information about the moles in this build. All the while I acted oblivious to her reunion with her family, but I never took my eyes off her, not even for a second. I could see the honesty in her mom and her kid sister, even a blind man could tell that they are surprised to see her and they are so happy to be reunited with her. But not Robert Delaney, Nah, not him. He is certainly faking it, it is so obvious that he is only pretending to be surprised. He must have been informed about her return before now, but he never told his family. He kept it to himself because he has other agendas. How I want to slap that fake smile off his face, I want to beat him to a pulp until he confesses everything puts us out of this misery and stress. He just stood there like a f*****g mannequin, looking at her with hate in his eye. He is trying to his anger and hatred behind his fake smile, but trust me, it ain't working at all, I can see right through him, his acting skills definitely needs some polishing.

“Where have you been for the past five years Bethany, and what have you been doing all these years, why didn't you search for your family?” he asked her sternly, his eyes fixed on her, watching her closely. I wonder why he is asking her these questions when he already knows the answers to them. I am sure that he knows everything there is to know about her, he has been well informed of her activities already. I guess this is a trick question, he just wants to know what her response would be, he wants to find out if she is on my side, he wants to know if she'll ie about being in the castle with me. Damn, he's so F*++g good.

“It's a trick Beth, Tell him the truth, tell him you've been living in the castle because you came for a job, he knows the truth already, don't bother lying to him. Lie to him now and he would never trust you again, and you will get on his bad side. We don't want him to see you as an enemy he could have you killed.” I warned her through our mind link.

“You make him sound like such a monster, for f**s sake, he is my father. But don't worry, I'll be careful, I don't want to die yet. I still want to bear pups for my Alpha king” She teased me through our mind link. I can't believe that she could be jokin atthis time, if only she knows what is at risk here, if only she knows that her own father could have her killed if he thinks that she is not worthy to be by his side. I waited a few minutes to see how she would handle the situation, her mom and sister were looking at her curiously as well, and I wondered if she would be able to stand up to the occasion. She took a deep breath, then she started from the very beginning, telling them about her secret meeting with Carl and how she had been in the woods when it all began. As she spoke, I felt the emotions in her voice and I thought she was faking it, but when raised my head and looked in her direction, I saw the tears rolling down her cheeks, that was when I realized that she is reliving the past and it really hurts. Now I'm also feeling guilty for all the pain that I caused her many years ago. I couldn't stay there and listen to her explanations anymore, it was obvious that she can handle the situation without me, so I asked Carl to keep the guards engaged while I take a walk around the building. Since our cameras have been hacked, the best thin we could do right now is to install some more cameras, but this time, nobody else would know about these cameras, not even the guards stationed here. Tyler has hacked into the building's security cameras already. He is the only one that can se what is happening here, nobody else. When we leave this building, he is going to wipe out every footage, nobody would kno that I have planted so hidden cameras around. This time, I didn't leave any footprints, so I'm certain that no one will find ou about them.

I started inside, then I used the back door to go outside to put cameras in some hidden spots, good thing that Carl is having a meeting with the guards and other staffers in this building There is no way anyone would see me doing all this, except kin; Ashford has installed his own secret cameras here, which I doubt very much because Tyler would have picked up the signal. After installing the last camera, I went back inside and say with Harriet and her father, ignoring the Delaneys as they kept listening to Beth's stories. It's. Not a secret that Alpha Gerald and I are friends, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that I'm having a private chit-chat with him and his daughter. Harriet had already briefed him on the situation of things here but he has no idea what is happening around him. He confirmed to us that most of the Alphas are forming separate groups and the each have different agendas. He listed the different groups and the Alphas that belong to each group, it wasn't much, but it would sure help us to narrow down the particular group that we are searching for. I handed him a little package that I brought for him, it contains some weapons that he could use to defend himself in case things go south. I ordered him to rea one of the rings always, he is never to take it off because it is the only weapon that will not be detected easily. The rest of the weapons will be kept hidden in his room, he can only bring them out if it is absolutely necessary. I was still talking to hir when Carl walked over with a message from Dwayne, I stood up immediately when I found out that Lorenzo has released my boys and they have returned back to the castle. I need to get back to the castle right now.

“Say your goodbyes, Beth, it's time to go” I told her through our mind link, standing up to head for the door when she did not respond to me through our link. I don't want anyone to know that Bethany and I have established a mind link, it would raise a lot of questions that I am not prepared to answer. I decided to speak out loud so everyone would know that it was time to go.

“It's time to go guys, I have an appointment in a few minutes.” I announced calmly. Carl and Harriet stood up immediately and followed me, but Bethany sat still, refusing to leave. Then that slithering snake that she calls a father stood up and turned to me with a stupid smile on his face,

“Thank you for returning my daughter back to me, King Dominic. You have once again proven to everyone that you are indeed a great king that looks after his people. If it pleases you, my king, I would like my daughter to remain right here with us, her family. We have missed her dearly, we wish to spend time with her and bond as a family." He let out softly, making m; grind my teeth in anger. Gosh, I want to punch this guy in the face until he bleeds to death.

“Cool it, man, you'll ruin everything" Carl warned me through our link when he noticed that I was about to lose it. The veins on my forehead stand out as evidence of my anger, I tried folding my knuckles to curb my anger but it wasn't working right now, I'm just too pissed. Bethany noticed it too, and she also tried to get me to calm down,

“I can sense your anger Dom, you need to stay calm, or else my father or any other mole in this building will know that you have feelings for me and it could put me in danger. We need to play it right or we are going to lose." She told me calmly. I ha no choice, I had to stay calm because of her. I could put her in danger if I don't control my anger.

“I have no problem with you spending time with your runway daughter, although you need to know that your w***e of a daughter and her friends signed a contract with me when I brought them into my castle. I had no idea that she was your daughter when the contract was signed and I'm not prepared to change the terms of our contract because you long to spenc time with your daughter. As you said I am a good king, so I'm going to let her stay here today. By tomorrow I need my w***e back in my bed. I paid for her services, and I intend to get the services I paid for” I told him pointedly.

“How dare you, Dominic, how dare you?" he spat out in anger.

“Oh shut up, Robert. You should have trained your daughter well, then she wouldn't have ended up like a whore! I retorted, making him even angrier. I could see that my rude words were having the desired effect. He doesn't have that smug look on his face anymore, he must now know that I don't give a damn about his daughter.

“I'll send a car to come get you tomorrow evening. Don't make me come here myself, Beth, you won't like what I would do to you." I told her sternly before turning back to head for the exit, leaving Bethany behind.

“'m so sorry my love. I had to say those things to make him believe that I don't really care about you. I apologized to her through our mind link.

“You have to be very careful in there. Try and outsmart him, don't get caught in his web of lies, okay. I'll come get you tomorrow, I'm coming to take you out of there tomorrow.” I told her softly.
