Alaric POV

When Angelica told me that she was the one who found the pelitas trees, I knew she was lying because all the time she was saying it, she was staring at the ground and not at me. it made me wonder why she lied about it. To make sure she was the one, I decided to ask about her the pelitas trees. “how were you able to find the trees?" I asked her.

“I...” she stuttered and pretend to look around my office as if she was searching for something whereas she wasn't. instead, she was trying to divert from what we were saying and I found it annoying because I hated people who lie a lot.

“This liar is going to be your bride?” Draca scoffed and tutted. “there is no way this liar is going to be ****d by me. it is bad for my energy and...”

“I never asked for your opinion Draca,” I cut him off and focused on angelica whose legs were shaking. “what is it you were saying?" I questioned her and she tured to face me with a smile on her face. ”

“The Pelita trees were not that difficult to notice,” she stated and rubbed her hands together. “I.” her words trailed off in m; ears when I heard Lorena's voice sounding from outside the office. Even her lavender was difficult to not notice. She smelled amazing and to be honest, I missed her badly and couldn't wait to meet her, touch, and f****d her while she screamed out “my name but doing that would only mean that I would give draca the chance to use up her energy and feed on it.

“can’t we just say anything aside from talking about the trees? I mean it is obvious that I found the tree so there is no reaso atall to talk about it any longer,” Angelica said and I nodded In response standing up from my chair opposite her and heading towards the entrance of the office. She was surprised when she saw me at the entrance of the office and stared at me as if I didn't know where I was going to but I do. I was heading out to go see if I could meet with Lorena. I had missed her and couldn't wait to see her face.

“where are you going your highness?” Angelica asked.

“out,” I answered. “I have a business to attend to at the moment and I don't think you would be needed there," I told her an, she stared at me yet again with her mouth wide open.

“I thought you called me here to ask about how the competition was,” she stood up and walked towards me with her head lowered to the ground. That was the only thing I noticed about Angelica. It was her humbleness and although I hated that she had to lie, she was still the respectful person for the throne and I didn't make a mistake in accepting her as my Luna queen.

“I was in awe when they told me that you found the pelitas tree and I wanted to see how smart you are. To be honest, you are truly smart and the right person for the position of the luna queen,” I told her and she chuckled.

“Thank you, your highness," she smiled at me. just then, the person I expected to meet collided with us as we were walking out.

“Lorena” Angelica was quick to react as he grabbed Lorena's hand. From the way Lorena clenched her teeth, I could tell that Angelica had grabbed her injured arm. “what the hell are you doing here?” she asked her.

I saw the look Lorena gave me as if she was about to reveal something to me and when she finally opened her mouth to speak, I anticipated what she had to say.

“your highness, I am...” I knew she wanted to reveal the truth but Angelica covered her mouth.

That was a suspicious move.

“I shall now take my leave, your highness,” angelica said and lowered her head before dragging Lorena away to a corner in the hallways. I watched as they left unable to say anything. I knew that it had something to do with the pelitas tree and so I followed them.

I watched them from a corner and listened to what they had to say.

“Are you going to do anything about it?" Monster asked me.

“What do you expect him to do about a fight with women huh?” Draca asked him. “It seems your wolf is as dumb as you are, he commented and laughed.

Iignored both of them and instead focused on listening to what they had to say.

“what the hell were you thinking?" The voice belonged to Angelica as if she already why Lorena was there. Her questions were direct and I noticed the fear in her tone. She looked around as if she was searching for something or someone.

“How could you reveal to everyone that found the pelitas trees when I did! how could you do that to me when you called me your friend?"Lorena's voice shook terribly as she asked the question. I wondered why her voice was shaking when she was the rightful owner of finding out about the Pelitas trees.

“words are quick to spread,” Angelica answered her and chuckled. “Don't be such a bad friend Lorena. You and I are both friends and it's not bad that I took a little credit for your success," she said.

I already got what I needed to hear but I still stood in the corner waiting to hear the rest of their conversations.

“A little!” Lorena scoffed. “you took all credit for it!” she shouted at her.

“And it helps me because the king recognized my smartness and it all thanks to you," she smiled at Lorena. "it was all thank: to your smart brains,” she rubbed her shoulders.

Smart brains? I clenched my fists and was on the verge of revealing myself when I remembered that it would mean that I wa eavesdropping on their conversation and I wanted to catch Angelica in her mindless games.

“who is going to believe a human over a werewolf, “she chuckled. “have you forgotten the world we live in huh?" she tutted. “it's a world of werewolves darling. I hope you don't forget that” she chuckled and turned to leave.

Angelica was right at some point because I was the one who created the world where the humans didn't mean anything and we were nothing but prey to the werewolves. Maybe Angelica was right when she said that no one was going to believe Angelica but I would. I knew it was Lorena who found the Pelitas trees as soon as I saw them because it wasn't difficult to notice the lies from the truth.

“Did you even see me as your friend huh?" Lorena asked Angelica the question and she stopped walking and turned back to face her.

“you are still my friend Lorena and I know that you hate me right now but I had to do it and I don't regret it,” Angelica tapped Lorena on the shoulders and walked away leaving her all alone in the hallway. I watched as she clenched her fists and punched the wall.

“Coward!” Monster shouted at me making me stop abruptly. “You are a coward and it is so sad to see you walking away rathe than consoling your mate!”

“Then go ahead and console her!”

“I could if I could shift to my form. Your stupidity led you to be possessed by a crazy Demon that had taken over your body!" “Hey! Don't call me crazy!” Draca shouted at him.

“Lorena hates me!” I said making them understand that no matter how hard I tried to prove myself. Lorena was never going to acknowledge me because she sees me as her enemy already.

“Then make her love you,” Monster suggested.
