Crystal’s P.O.V. 

“You are not going anywhere, Adam. Can’t you see this is a trap for you?” I replied to Adam in a stern voice when he told me that he was leaving to join the battles with our fathers at the border, where our patrollers spotted some vampires and rogues. 

“I can see that, Crystal. But, I promised Theo that I would keep you safe. There is no way that I will break my promise, not on my watch,” he argued, and I groaned in frustration. He was still as stubborn as he was in the past. 

“You promised him to keep me safe. So, stay with me, and let Dad and Alpha Adrian handle the situation. Both of them are still capable enough to beat the s**t out of them,” I argued back in a stern and angry tone. 

He opened his mouth in protest again but closed it while giving me a troubled look. I took a deep breath while closing my eyes. “Luna… Can we fight if needed?” I asked her in a gentle tone. “We can, girl…. But we are still weak to use our full strength. I can give it a try, but not sure about anything,” she answered me in the same tired tone. 

“Take a good rest, Luna. I will take care of things here,” I comforted her, and she just tilted her head on her paws, still keeping her eyes closed. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Adam looking at me worriedly. “You shouldn’t sit so long, honey. You are still too weak to take on any burden right now.” My mother, Martha, spoke this time in a worried tone. 

“I am okay, mom…and I promise you that I will not exhaust myself against my strength right now,” I comforted myself while giving her a small, assuring smile. Suddenly, Adam stood up from his chair and stopped in front of me. I looked at him, and in my peripheral vision, I saw both my mother and Theo’s mother taking an attack together. 

“Drink my blood, Crystal. As a werewolf, you are too weak to even stand firmly: You can strengthen your strength by drinking from me,” he said. further, and I smiled while tilting my head. “Thanks, Adam, but I don’t think that I need to drink blood now. They are here for you. They didn’t show up. when Theo was here. They waited for him to go away far enough that he couldn’t come back early.” I spoke to him in a calm tone.

“I told you that it doesn’t matter to me if they are here for me or not,” Adam replied to me in a stern tone. I sighed and looked at Luna Elena for help. “I am with Adam on this, Crystal. “Your life is more important than anything else. right now,” she said to me in a gentle but firm tone.
