I looked at Crystal’s calm face with a pang of guilt in my heart. It was me who ruined my chances with her. It was not on her but on me. I didn’t have romantic feelings for her in the past, but we were good friends. The girl in front of me was still the same Crystal, but she was now more intelligent and mature than in the past.

She paused and took a deep breath later when she was giving them the instructions. We were outside the pack house right now. 

“There is another attack in the north side,” she told me in a cold tone, making me chew on my inner cheeks. “You go inside and let me take care of this, Crystal,” Martha said to her in a worried tone. Crystal looked at her with a light smile on her face.

I nodded to him and took a deep breath. “Let’s go now. We can’t be late,” I instructed them in a calm tone, and everyone howled aloud, confirming my command to them.
