My parents took care of Fynn after I knocked him out so I could stay until the end of the fight. Serena’s reasons were so futile but I know her words hurt Selina. I wish I could comfort her but after the last two days, we spent together I know she doesn’t want my comfort. Hopefully, one day I will be able to change that. I need to change that. I just need to find how.

“We will! I know we will!” My wolf says.

“I hope. Thanks!” It’s good to have his support.

Anyway, right now it’s not the time. Now, I need to understand how and why Fynn was involved in the destruction of my mate. How did he become so evil? I mean I saw what he said to Tom and he didn’t mind sending all these men to their death. How it’s even possible?!

As I enter my parents' house, I see them sitting on the couch in the living room. Lila is with them and her eyes are red and she’s still sniffing. This means she knows.

“Where is he?” I ask.

“Still out. You punched him hard.” Dad says disapprovingly.

“He was trying to arm my mate! Why nobody is checking him? He could run away if he wakes up.” I reply.

“He can’t.” Mom just says.

“Do you think they could be mates?” I ask.

“Is she dead?” Dad asks.

I nod.

“Then no, even unconscious he would have felt her death and we would have known.” He states.

“Then why?”

Mom sighs: “We will have to wait for him to wake up to answer that.”

And to wait we have! Fynn was too angry and uncontrollable when he woke up so mom put him under a sleeping spell. But every time we woke up him, he was still the same. And it was like that for the last 3 days. Tom told us about the fight between Selina and her parents and the fact she left right after. He doesn't want to tell us where she went but he told us she was safe. I hope he's right. Anna-Lynn and Anton know about Fynn and my deal with Selina. They will respect that but like all of us, they want answers. Anyway, we are going to try to wake up Fynn again in a few minutes. Hopefully, this time he will be calmer. Mom blocked all his magic just by safety.

"Peanut, I need your help. When we wake up Fynn, I want to force him to drink that potion. It will calm him down but we need to force him." Mom says, my father with her.

"I'm coming!" I reply. Cross fingers, it will work because I'm losing my patience here.

"Me too!" My Wolf comments. He is not a patient wolf.

"Okay, you block his legs, your fathers will block his arms and I will force him to drink it. Ready?" Mom explains. Dad and I nod.

Mom recites the spell and Fynn starts to move. Before he can realize what is happening dad and I pinch him while mom forces him to drink the potion. I have to say she is super-efficient. He doesn't have time to think that she is already making drink it. I'm impressed! He struggles for few more minutes before to calm down. It worked!

"How are you feeling?" Dad asks him releasing him.

"Like shit!" Fynn replies.

"Watch your tongue!" Mom says.

"Sorry, mom. What happened?" He asks.

"Serena is dead. Everything is over." I tell him.

"Noah!" Mom and dad scream.

"What? I will not sugar coat the truth! Not after all what he did, they did!" I defend myself.

Fynn starts to cry.

"Was she your mate?" Mom asks him while she is hugging him. As he was agitated every time we tried to wake him up we don't know if they were mate or not and if this why he is so upset.

"She was the love of my life!" He says between two cries.

"So she was your mate?" Dad asks.

"I don't know. I just know that I love her. It was like love at first sight."

"Love at first sight? You were 5 or 6 when you met her for the first time. You love her since that time?" Mom questions.

"No, not when I was in high school."

"When you were around 16?" Mom says but it's more an affirmation than a question.

"Yes! How do you know? The first weeks she always told he should have been you, Noah. I don't know why." He says looking at me.

"This is so confusing! Can I take a shower?" He says after minutes of silence.

Dad nods: " I will stay with him."

We walk in the kitchen with mom, where Lila is waiting for us.

"So? How it went this time?" She asks us.

"We gave in a potion. So he was calm this time." Mom replies.

"He told us he loves Serena. When he was 16, it was like love at first sight. But it's weird, what changed? And why he said it should have been me? It doesn't make any sense."

"Except if you use a love potion. The question is how she was able to procure it?" Mom explain.

"You said, it was when he was 16?" Lila says. She looks pale.

"Yes, it's when he starts to change. It's clearly her that change him." Mom replies.

"It's me. She used to be my best friends and she used to be bullied during our sophomore year. One day, she went back and she was really hurt so I decided to help her to get revenge. It was her idea to make fall in love her bully but I'm the one who did the potion." She confesses.

"Do you know the consequences of this kind of potion!?" Mom asks her.

"I was 15! I'm sorry! I didn't know she will use it like against my own brother. Few weeks later, she stopped speaking to me and I didn’t understand. Now I know why." Lila says sobbing.

"Still, it's not an excuse that she was bullied. We're only using magic to do the good around us! Nothing more." Mom says.

" Easy, she asks him to do his own love potion. She used it to force men to try to mark Selina. He was just drinking it too." I say.

“I will help you with that.” Lila proposes her. Mom nods.

I know I’m harsh with him but I can’t forget what I did to Selina. She suffered too much because of them and she didn’t deserve that. She already suffered too much because of me.

“Yeah! He deserves the hard truth! For Selina! He was ready to let Tom die too!” My wolf says, angry against Fynn.

“I know... At the same time, I’m relieved that Selina doesn’t ask for his death.”

“I know me too.”He says.

“I hope your wolf was scolding at you!” Mom tells me.

“Sort of...” I reply, not wanting to make her angrier.

“You’re lying! You’re just jealous as you are not capable of love.” Fynn tells me with venom.

I’m mimicking him.

“You’re not helping! Go for a run and come back only when you're in your right mind.” Dad orders me in his alpha voice.

I have no choice to follow his order but my wolf wants to go run so it’s not a bad idea.
