“Is it done?” I ask her

“Yes, it will be ready in a few minutes.” Anna-Lynn says.

“Are you ok?” Aiden asks me through the mind link.

“No. Part of me wants it to be wrong because it’s horrible and vicious. But the other part wants answers. And this will be a start.”

“I know I can’t believe Markus did that.” He replies.

“Me neither. You could have died today.”

“Maybe Anna-Lynn is wrong.”

“I don’t think so. We will know soon. You could have died if you have drunk my cup earlier.” I say with a lump in my throat. I cleat my throat.

So is it positive?” I ask getting impatient.

“Give me a few seconds more please.”

After a moment she looks up at GammaAlec.

“So?” I say getting impatient.

“It’s positive to the LB Toxin.” She says annoyed or pisses.

“That’s fucker! How dares he? He uses my coffee to poison me. That wimp! I will kill him.” I’m just beyond furious.

“Can you calm down. It’s not helping!” Gamma Alec.

“How could have ever drink that coffee again?” I say feeling defeat now.

“Don’t let him win. He chooses this way because of the symbolism. If you stop to drink that coffee he would win this battle.” Anna-Lynn tells me.

“You will give him more importance than he deserves if not.” She replies.

“What’s bothering you?” I ask her.

“That I have missed the smell. And the way you were poisoned. It could be used again.”

“The three of us weren’t able to smell it so even if you know the smell if we can’t you can’t. “ I say and Gamma Alec laughs dryly. What is his problem? I didn’t even say anything funny.

“Why it’s your business if that poison is used again?” Asks Aiden.

I can see she is reluctant to answer.

I can see Aiden is as stunned as I am.

“We need to know how he was able to hide the smell.” Gamma Alec says to her.

“The easiest way is to ask him directly.” She replies.

“No. Not a good idea. You know how vicious he is!” Says Gamma Alec Shaking his head.

“I need to know. And I will keep my wall up. Melinda will help me. And you will even see what he will tell me. Trust me.”

“You know I do. But I will not able to take action if needed.”

She raised an eyebrow. They do an eyes' contest. He sighs and adds: “I don’t really have a choice. “

“Nope.” She replies.

“I want to hear the conversation too.” I say.

“Me too.” Adds Aiden.

“Fine. Let me spoke with Melinda first.” Anna-Lynn says.

Then she sits on a chair and starts to whispering something illegible. What the hell she is doing. Aiden and I look at her like she is crazy.

“Melinda and she did a ritual to become blood's sisters. Right now they are speaking together though their link.” Gamma Alec explains to us.

“Oh...” Says Aiden.

After a few minutes, she says: “She is ready. Let’s do it.”

She takes out her phone and calls someone.

“Hello welcome to Bloody Hell. How can I help you?” Says a women

“I want to speak with Dmitri.”

“There is no Dmitri here.”

“I’m Anna-Lynn Grandloup.”

Why is she using this family name? Aiden is thinking the same thing I can read it on his face.

“I use my old family name because Dmitri tried to track me down for a long time and normally he failed so I don’t want to give him any clue.” Anna-Lynn whispers to us after she cuts the microphone.

I’m cut by a pop noise and in front of us appears a small flask with a red liquid inside.

“Don’t tell me it’s what it thinks it is.” Says Aiden disgusted.

“It is.” Says Gamma Alec disgusted too.

“Dmitri likes to drive people crazy and the best way to destroy them is to be in their mind. So he uses every excuse to make you drink his blood.” Anna-Lynn says taking the flask.

“And you want to drink it?” I ask her. This is so disgusting!

“I want answers and I’m stronger than him.” She says sitting back. Then she drinks the blood.

She gives me her right hand while she gives the left to Gamma Alec. How only Alpha can have this gift?

He laughs. How a laugh can sound so angelic and be so evil at the same time? This men give me chills and not the good one.

“Then what else?” He asks looking for something.



“How did you do it? How were you able to separate the toxin in my blood?”



“Oh, that! It’s not really separate. I diluted your blood enough to lessen the smell but it’s staying deadly, which is incredible. One day I will find a way but for now, I needed to find a use to your blood.”

“Do you know it’s forbidden by the deal I made with your father?” She tells him.

He laughs:” You would have to prove it and it’s only for my personal use.”

“So you mean it’s you that poisoned Alpha Liam Sangpur from the Primus park.”

“No. I just helped an old friend. But I only did it by curiosity. You see I wanted to know if Alpha Liam as your mate was immune. You know as he was supposed to mark you. “What are you looking for?” Anna-Lynn asks with satisfaction.

“So you mean this place doesn’t make you feel anything?”

Suddenly the decor changes, we are now in a dining room. A luxurious one. The wood table is huge and looks antic as the chairs. There is a throne at the end of the table. The decoration on the table is magnificent as the room’s decoration actually.

“And now?”Dmitri asks her.

“Nothing.” She shrugs.

He smiles. A cold evil smile.

“I can still hear the noise of your bones when I broke them one by one, your screams of agony. You didn’t pray for someone to save you because you knew there was no one for you. I even broke your neck and smashed your head so much that you were bleeding by every hole. I let you here die suffering like hell.”

“Well, you failed as I’m still alive.”

“And this is a great new! I can torture you until your death and start again the next day.”

“You know I can’t enslave a werewolf?” She asks him.

She laughs:” I remember all of your closest friends dying slowly and painfully in the room. That was a show! Their screams, that was something.”

“I can’t wait the day we will be mine. I will break you, destroy every piece of you. You will become my pet but for killing all my friends that night I will be sure to remind you every day who you were and what you will never be any more. You will just be a fuck toy for whoever I want!”

She laughs: “ You’re so delusional! Next time we meet will be the day of your death.”

“Dying while draining your blood will be a great death.”

“Your head will be detached from your body before you can even bite me. We are over now, until next time!”

“Do you really think you can decide when I leaving your mind?” He mocks her.

“No! You will pay for that An-“ He is fading away before he can finish that sentence.

So this is why I didn’t die because of the mate thing. Wow, I ’m lucky! For the first time in my life, I’m grateful that Anna-Lynn is my true mate. I would have never imagined I would think that one day.

“So... That was interesting and totally creepy. He is a sadistic monster.” I say.

“You have no idea.” Anna-Lynn says.

“Did he really did that to you?” Aiden asks her.

“Breaking my bones one by one? Yes, he did and he took his time. Dmitri used to let his friends drink his “best crus” before him to have the honor to test what would be soon only his. That’s why he didn’t die with them that night, unfortunately.”

“I adopted him after his parents' death. He is not my biological son. Does it change something?” She tells him.

He frowns: “No I still want to meet him.”

“Good.” She says.

“I should go. There is a lot I need to think about.” I say.

“I’m coming. I promised Elena I will help her with the kids. Thank you Anna-Lynn for saving my life and everything else.”

What a weird day. After I left Anna-Lynn’s home I spoke with my father and then my mother. She didn’t want to speak with my father as he denied her so I had to speak to them separately. She is not used to it as normally he is the peacemaker. My father knows about Anna-Lynn’s blood but I didn’t tell my mother. She was too upset with my father and I didn’t think it was a good idea.

I can’t get over the fact Markus poisoned my coffee. I bought this coffee more than two months ago... Even before he challenged me. Maybe he became impatient because I was not sick or dying fast enough for him. How will I ever drink this coffee ever? And thinking I drunk Anna-Lynn’s blood makes the whole thing even worst. I don’t know what to think. I wish I could talk with Nora she is a good listener and always knows what to say. And as I can’t contact my wolf yet I’m feeling really alone.

I should have killed Markus a long time ago. I shouldn’t have listened to Nora or maybe it was him pushing her to stop me. I don’t know anymore and this is driving me crazy.

It’s midnight and I can’t sleep as I’m overthinking everything. I go to the kitchen to drink water.

“Trouble to sleep?” Asks my mother in my back.

I nod:” You too?”

“I don’t like to sleep without your father.”

“I know I don’t like to sleep in an empty bed.”

“If it’s only that I’m sure in less than a minute I can find you a she-wolf willing to share your bed.” She jokes.
