Wow! Just wow! I just spent the best night of my life! And the best thing is it only one of the first. I know with him, Collin, I will have thousands of nights like that. I can’t believe I found my mate and he’s a werewolf-like Alec. It’s funny how with Alix, we always wanted true love and we are both mated to werewolves instead of a shifter like us.

For shifters, mates are not as precious as for werewolves for two reasons. First, there are only three shifters clans in the world most of the shifters don’t live in a pack like werewolves so it’s rare to meet your mate. Secondly, we do have a beast side but not a real beast spirit as werewolves have, so the mate pull is weaker. We were both so disappointed to learn that. It was crushing our dream of true love...

And look at us now! We are both mated to werewolves! This is just amazing. When Alix met Alec, I was so happy for her but more time passed more I felt envy to have that too. They are so perfect for each other and he will do everything for her. I wanted the same love for me. And now I have or I will. Collin is so sweet that I’m already falling for him. And if what Alix told me about him and his daughter is true I will fall even harder and I will see them together.

“You’re coming back late! Or early.” Alix comments while I enter our place.

“It’s never late when you were with your mate.” I say.

“I’ve already heard that or rather said that. Did you just stole my words?”

“Maybe. But it’s awesome to be able to say that.”

“I know and I’m so happy for you. You deserve your own true love and I know how you wanted to meet your true mate.”

“Thank you!! I was losing hope to meet him but it was worth waiting. He is so sweet!” I say dreamily.

“Did you wait for me all night?”

“No, of course not!” She tries to deny but I know her too well.

“I spoke with Alec earlier and he wants to stay until Lilly’s fight is over but after he will join me, like that you can go see him.” She adds.

“I will join him in his pack then and I will meet our daughter!” I say.

“So you’re accepting her as your own?” She asks me.

“Well if she accepts me as her mom, yes. I mean what’s Collin told me about her made me fall in love with her. She already has her place in my heart.”

“That’s really nice of you. I didn’t know if I would have accepted if Alec had a child with another woman.”

“You met him when you were both 19. It’s not the same. We are both 23, it’s late for a werewolf to meet his mate and as I was not sure I would found mine one day.”

“True, but still he has his daughter with his brother’s mate and he thought she was his. Doesn’t that bother you?”

“I know! No, it doesn’t bother me. What does is the fact the never check in books or with another pack. It would have saved them from so much pain.”

“Yeah, this is crazy. Lilly told us they were narrow-minded but I didn’t expect that much.”

“You know she is pregnant again, Harper will have the same age gap that you have with me and as Collin is not speaking with his brother not only they will not grow up together but also they might never be close. It’s saddening me because I can’t imagine my life and my childhood without you.”

“I know me neither. I know what you mean, they will not be brother/sister as they should have been, at least they can be close cousins.”

“Yeah but for that, they need to fix their relationship. Hopefully, I will help him with that. Collin even broke their twins' link, so imagine how bad is it.”

“Wow, you can’t fix a broken link, that’s bad. Did he break it because she chose his brother over him?”

“No, he broke it when they rejected Harper and tried to force him to abandon her. He already had accepted their mating even if he was heartbroken.”

“Assholes! She is a baby she didn’t do anything!” Alix says with anger.

“I know I felt like kicking their stupid asses but I tried to pass over it. I need to if I want Collin to fix his relationship with Connor and his mate.”

“You didn’t say her name, what is it already? For sure Alec told me. Pheobe no, Penny, P... something.”

“Piper, I can’t accept the fact she beards Harper for nine months and just rejected her. How can you do that? Mom always told us that you have to assume everything even your mistakes. This is the most beautiful mistake she ever did and yet she just threw her away because she didn’t assume what she did to her mate and his twin! And everybody forgot about what happened and they just wish for Harper to disappear. This is so unfair. I could go all T-rex to all of them!”

“I can join you too. Poor little princess. Auntie Alix will spoil you as you deserve.”

“I know but I can’t for their sake, I can’t. It’s their family so my main objective is to fix it. It’s more important from them than for me to fuel the fire even more. As tempting as it is.”

“Yeah... When did you come so wise?” She teases me.

“I have a mate and a daughter now! “ I reply with pride.

She takes my hand and looks at my nails.

“What is worrying you?” She asks as she sees my bitten nails.

“What if she rejects me? What will we do if she doesn’t want me as her mother?”

“You’re the sweetest T-rex that I know!” She teases me again.

“More seriously, you’re so carrying and loving that I don’t see how she couldn’t love you. With all the things Alec told me, I’m sure she will be eager to have you as her mom.” She adds.

“Thanks!”

“You didn’t give me a lot of details. Did you kiss? Did you make love? He didn’t mark you even if he did let his mark on you.” She says looking at my neck.

“What?” I say putting my hand on my neck where he kissed me and walking the mirror to see by myself. I have a huge hickey where I will soon bear his mark. I can help but smile.

“We did make out but he didn’t want to mark me until I meet Harper and that I’m sure I want to be involved in his...situation. I agreed just in case Harper rejects me. I don’t want him to be between us and suffer more than he already did.”

“And I wanted to change the subject!” She says shaking her head.

“Anyway, so no sex. You just made out.” She had disappointed.

“Exactly.” I say not looking at her.

“Liar! You fucked him!” She says, excited.

“First, we made love and secondly I didn’t lie to you I just omitted some details.” I shrug.

“Some big details. So how it was?” She asks, curious.

“Amazing! I can’t wait to do it again and he’s so hot and sexy!” I sigh. It’s crazy how I miss him when I know him for only 13 hours!

I’m at Collin’s pack border. I’ve 10 minutes to kill before our appointment. He told me that his Alpha already gave his accord for me to cross the border but I prefer to wait for him outside, better to be safe. This pack is the most close off in the world and I may not be a rogue but I’m not a werewolf either.

I see Collin walking towards me but something is off. I don’t know it’s something I’m feeling in my bones. He is the carbon copy of Collin, perfect but just a copy. As he comes closer my doubts are confirmed as his smell is slightly different.

“You’re Connor. I didn’t expect you here.” I tell him.

“Who are you? What are you doing here?” He asks me.

“Your Alpha allowed me to come.” I just tell him warily. I don’t trust him and I don’t know if he knows who I’m. As they don’t speak to each other my theory is Collin didn’t tell him anything.

“Who are you? How did you call my wolf? You’re not a she-wolf. Are you a witch? Are you trying to trick me?” He asks me aggressively.

“I didn’t call you wolf!”

“Lie! My wolf is calling you mate but I already have one and I’m happy with her. Your spell is not working!”

He starts to walk ready to cross the border.

“Well, I’m not calling you “mate” as you’re not mine! I would also advise you to not cross the border with the idea of attacking me. The payback will be too big for you!”

“You should listen to her because I will not hesitate to kill you if you put your hands on her.” Collin says in Connor’s back.

“Collin!” I whisper with anticipation.

“What? You would attack me for that witch. She tricks you too!” Connor says.

“She is not a witch but a shifter and she is my mate!” Collin says.

“What!? Liam told me that you have your own mate but the pull is as strong as with Piper! Almost as strong. This is impossible!”

“Now you know how I mistook Piper for my mate. But I’m happy it was just a mistake.” He says looking at me, head to toe.

Damn, I’m feeling all hot and ..excited.

“Let’s go, love, you have someone to meet!” He says extending his hands for me.

Gosh, thanks for calming me down Collin! I don’t need a cold shower anymore as I’m too worried about meeting our daughter to think about anything else.

I’m taking his hand and he pushes me towards him to kiss me passionately. We start to walk together entering the territory. He is ignoring his brother totally.

“Everything will be fine. She will love you, I’m sure!” He says kissing my hand.

“I hope you’re right.” I sigh.

We walked for 15minutes before we arrive at a small house. Connor is following us, I don’t know if it’s because he is worried for his brother or if he’s just curious.

“This is my parents' house. Harper is with them. Are you ready?” He explains to me.

“I’m freaking out but at the same time, I can’t wait to meet her. Let’s do it!” I reply.

I already missed 87 precious days of her life, I can’t miss one more.

When we enter the house the only thing I can hear is a baby crying. My baby is crying. I follow the cries without waiting for Collin. She is in the arms of a woman who has my age and without thinking I take Harper out of her arms.

“Calm down my little angel, I’m here now. Sorry, it took me so long to come to you.” I say stroking her back.

She instantly stops to cry. I decide to look at her and she’s so beautiful! So perfect with big green eyes, her small nose. She looks at me and smiles. Something passes between us and I know at that moment, that everything will be fine. I can feel a bond forming between us, a powerful one. She is my little princess and nobody will come between us. She is mine, only mine... Well and Collin too. When I look up for Collin, I see him stunned in the entry of the room.

“Who are you?” The woman asks me. She looks taken aback and I don’t see why.

“I’m her mother. Who are you?” I ask.

My response totally disarmed her and she is too shocked to speak.

“This is Piper, Connor’s mate?” Collin answer for her.

“What were you doing with her alone? Where are my parents?” Collin asks her aggressively.

We hear a growl in our back.

“Don’t speak like that to my mate!” Connor says coming between us and Piper.

“She was making my daughter cried. And she has no right to be with her!” Collin says and I can see his wolf surfacing. This going to turn bad!

“I just wanted to say goodbye to her but as soon as I took her she started to cry.” Piper whispers looking defeat.

He sighs: “Fine, I will forgive them for you.”

“Thank you!” Connor says relieved but I don’t know if he is thanking me or his brother.

“I still need time.” Collin says.

“I know.” Connor says.

“And you need to accept Harper too.” Collin adds.

Connor nods.

“Perfect, let’s start over again then.” I say

“Hi, I’m Ainhoa and I’m Collin’s mate. It’s nice to meet you.” I add extending my left hand towards them as I’m still carrying Harper in my right arm.

Connor takes my hand and shakes it:” I’m Connor, Collin’s twin and this is my mate, Piper. Nice to meet you too. My brother is a great guy and I need you to take care of him.”

“I will, I swear. Harper, this is your uncle Connor and your Aunt Piper.” I say.

“Nice to meet you too, Harper.” Connor says shaking gently Harper’s small hand.

“I’m happy to meet you all but I need you to know, Piper, that will never ever be more for my daughter than her aunt.”

“I know. It’s nice to meet you Ainhoa, Collin’s mate.” She replies.

Someone clears his throat. I look on my back to see an older couple, Collin’s parents.

“I’m Lilian, Collin and Connor’s mother and this is my mate Terrence. It’s nice too meet you.”

“Yes it’s nice to meet you. Thank you for bringing peace with you. May I ask what are you?” His fathers says.

“Nice to meet you both. I’m a shifter sir.” I say impressed.

“Impressive!” His father replies.

“You don’t mind?” Collin asks relieved.

“Look, I saw my two closest friends struggle with their children and losing them because of what they were or who they were mated too. I will not do the same mistake, moreover, we already messed up with Harper. That’s enough.” His mother says.

“Yeah, we just want your happiness.” His father adds.

“Good because it’s just so cool! She can shift into a T-Rex!” Collin says, excited like a 5 years old kid.

“No way!” His Father and Connor says at the same time as excited as Collin.

“Yes, way!” He says.

“Can you show us, Please?” Connor asks.

“Harper is sleepy, I will take her to bed. Once she sleeps, I can show you but we need to be outside as I will not fit here and somewhere private. I don’t want other pack members to see me.” I say.

“Awesome!” Connor says.

“I know the perfect spot. It’s not even five minutes away from here.” His father says.

Just before I leave the room, his mother asks: “Do you still have to leave now that you met your mate?”

“Lila, his wolf chose Anna-Lynn as his Luna. He will follow her.” His father says.

“Oh!” She whispers looking sad.

“Sorry.” Collin says when he sees his mother's sadness.

“ Can you at least stay tonight for the dinner?” She pleases.

“With pleasure!” I answer for the three of us.
