The word of beating the black dragon in India has spread like wildfire among the resistance worldwide. It represented a new hope to them, this creature was equal to the world trade center in height and two huge wings can easily block the horizon. This monster alone destroyed the quarter of the resistance forces with his flames.

Despite all this good news but it’s not going well for everybody like base4 which was suffered from lack of men, base4 was waiting for its dark destiny.

“I told you my friend…its only matter of time before we done” said Blake while he was looking at that poor volunteer soldier who just committed suicide because he couldn’t take the pain anymore.

“This…what I wanted to protect the volunteers from” said Ronald in gravy voice.

“You did your best man” said John.

Major Ronald looked at John with empty look: I screwed up my friend…I screwed up…I caused all of this.

John was regretting what he said before to him, all what happened would’ve been happen anyway, they are unimaginably strong.

“They took down that son of a bitch that they called the black dragon in India” said John trying to make Ronald feel better.

“You think this will make us win? Think again” said Blake gravely.

There was silent for a moments before John said: yes…why not, these aliens become less and less with time.

“looks like you didn’t noticed John…they are just playing with us to this very moment or at least there is a hold up that prevent them from going 100%” said Blake.

John and Ronald were amazed at what Blake just said. “Alright…how did you know that they are holding back?” said John.

Blake smiled: you forgot that fast? They wiped out Los Angeles with one hit.

No one had courage to say anything back to doctor Blake. There was just silence in the gravy base after that soldier committed suicide.

“Major, we need you here, and you too John” said one of the doctors.

The both men headed to the corpse of the recently died soldier to put him in the casket which is was a weapons box. And they carried him outside and burned the corpse in the weapons box.

It’s a strange feeling being with someone few days ago, then…nothing just a body…a body with no life.

“Is it could be truth that these aliens despite being able to destroy a whole city with one hit they want us to surrender?” Blake was thinking about this as a good possibility of being alive until this moment.

When John came back he wasn’t alright. “What’s wrong?” Blake asked.

“What do you mean?”

“You look…I don’t know…sad I can say”

John took a deep breath then said: you know that we are nearer to death more than ever.

There was silence for a moment…

“Do you think it will be over? Can we win this? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?” said John.

“You know…I saw a dream when I was passed out…you know that I’m a scientist but you don’t anything about me”

“Alright…since I was a little kid I was obsessed by how human body works and I was always wondering that if there anyway to increase its limits and create...will, to create a superhuman. Luckily I earned a scholarship to the California institute of technology and I couldn’t fulfill my dream or a part of it so to speak but while ago when I managed to create a method that increases the thickness of the skin.

“Yes…I dreamed that I found a way to increase the capacity of energy that human can store in his body many many times over the natural rate.

John thought that Blake was just maundering because of the hit he took on his head, he couldn’t do nothing but just keep going with him: okay, what is this dream has to do with our misery?

“I totally remember the components that I saw in that dream and I also remember the quantities and everything, simple put…I want to try it”

“You must be kidding me man we don’t have the equipment and we don’t have the components.”

“I don’t know about this”

“The material I used in the dream wasn’t hard to get…it’s actually in the lap of this base”

“Alright…things were easy in the dream… because it was a dream”

Blake felt sarcasm in the way John was talking but he didn’t care and continued: believe me this wasn’t a dream…it was like I live it, it was like something that happened to me before.

John putted his hands on the back of his head and began to move his head right and left trying to accept what he was hearing or to find something reasonable rather than a “no” but he couldn’t.

“Alright…how you prove this right? Who will accept to be a test subject?” said John.

“I don’t know but I think it’s the best time in human history to find a human test subjects” said Blake.

John tried to make Blake forget the whole matter without embracing him or make him feel weird but it was useless.

“It was a syrup made of the elements that making the sun, you mix them up together then expose it to electrical shock during the mixing” said Blake.

John couldn’t just see a man that won noble prize talking nonsense about some recipe that can make a superhuman that he just dreamed about.

“It seems things are getting better” said John.

“I hope so” said Blake trying to cheer himself to avoid the fate of that soldier who just buried.
