North’s P.O.V

I soon woke up to being yanked harshly, I opened my eyes and saw Miah staring at me intensely, then once she saw my eyes, I guess she relaxed and said, “Jeez little wolf, I’ve been trying to wake you up for like ten minutes” I shrugged not really caring at the moment, she rolled her eyes then asked, “Want a snack or something?“.

I shrugged again, “Yeah, I could eat” she nodded then pulled into a gas station, “Wait here” I nodded and closed my eyes, I didn’t understand why I was so tired, I mean, I hardly did anything today. While she was gone I got out of the back seat and climbed to the front, rubbing my eyes and yawning.

Then the door opened again and Miah threw a bag of chips, candy, and soda at me, which I surprising caught without dropping any of it, she smiled gently then started the car again and said, “We’ll be there in a about an hour, eat up before you sleep again”.

I turned to her and asked, “About that, why am I so tired?” Then she said not breaking eye contact with the rode, “You had your first shift today, normally when werewolves shift for the first time, they sleep for a whole day, but in your case, you’ll sleep for a few days”.

I assumed she meant I would sleep so much because I was a Lycan. I was so tired I found it hard to even keep my eyes open. Then way too soon, she yanked on my jacket and hit my arm, I opened my eyes and saw a huge mansion sitting in front of us.

My mouth was open wide as I stared, Miah laughed and said, “Come on let’s go” I nodded slowly and got out of the car, stumbling a little due to tiredness, but I managed to stand straight, more or less. We walked up to the door and Miah pulled out a shiny key that looked to be made of pure gold.

Once the door was unlocked she yelled into the house, “I’M HOME!!” I rolled my eyes and braced myself against a wall, trying to stay awake. Soon, tons of people started coming down the stairs and out of the room. A man who looked to be in his late thirties said, “Miah, welcome back-Um-you brought a visitor?” he looked at me with an angry stare.

Miah smiled widely as she had just gotten away with murder, then she said, “North get over here” I walked over to her slowly, then she placed her hands on my shoulder and said moving my hood, “Alpha, meet you’re new Lycan” everyone in the room gasped.

Then I turned around and looked at Miah, “Can I sleep now??” she rolled her eyes and said, “In a minute, hush” then she let go of my shoulders, “Miah, how did you--” the man began to growl at her, she smiled and said, “You told me you needed one to face the Vamp Freaks so I got you one” she pointed at me.

Then I mumbled, “I was drugged and forced here against my will” some of the people including Miah laughed, then she turned around and said, “Will you be quiet?” her tone was harsh which only made me laugh a little. Then she said, “Pack, this is North, sorry if he’s not too social” I glared.

The Alpha stepped forward and looked at me intensely and had a hard glare, he nodded sternly then turned to Miah, “He’s strong, stronger than most Lycan’s I’ve seen, where’d you find him?” she folded her arms. “I was sneaking around the hospital and I heard from a nurse, there was a kid, who was hit by a car and had a bite mark on his chest, I knew what it was”.

He nodded then turned to me and spoke to me with that same glare, “Hello North, I’m Connor, the Alpha of this pack, you’re under my rule now, welcome to the pack” then that signaled the whole room to Echo with, ‘Welcome’, right as I was about to shake his hand, I felt my feet give out under me and sleep take over. I collapsed on the ground.

I woke up in darkness, I felt something soft under me, I opened my eyes to see I was in a huge room. I was laying in a king-size bed, that was softer than anything. I looked around and saw the huge window hanging on the wall was covered in grey drapes only letting a small amount of light in.

No one was in the room other than me, I guess they wanted to let me sleep, I felt something on my arm, I leaned down and yanked the covers off my arm and I saw an ivy poking in my arm. I felt tempted to yank it out and see what was going on.

Before I could I watched the door open and Miah stepped in, she was holding from the looks of it a blood kit. Her eyes widened when she saw me, she rushed over to me and started shooting questions at me.

“Are you ok? does anything hurt?” I shook my head and said, “Not that I’m aware of” she glared then said with a sigh, “you’re not supposed to be up this early”, I raised my eyebrows in confusion. She then stood and walked over to the window, “Wait, how long have I been asleep?” I asked, looking at her.

She swallowed then said, “Six hours maybe” I shrugged and said, “I’m supposed to sleep for a while aren’t I?” I questioned she nodded and said, “But the longest time for a Lycan is twenty-four hours and the longest time for a normal wolf is twelve”.

Judging by the look on her face this was bad, maybe something went wrong during my shift making me different or damaged in some way. I couldn’t wrap my brain around it and it seemed that Miah couldn’t either.
