Sarah Williams – POV

I had a restless sleep after speaking to Carmen, and after tossing and turning in the bed for another hour, I got up and made my way to the bathroom to take a shower. “I will make you come to me and beg to mark you.” this phrase kept repeating inside my head like a broken tape recorder.

I yelled, and I felt my wolf stirring awake inside me. “Why don’t we tell Zachary about this? After all, he is our mate, and he will be able to sort this problem out.” Jane suggested but a scowl formed at that idea.

was no reply. I looked back again to see that the restaurant was empty. I took a few large gulps of my saliva, and I slowly moved the leaves aside with my trembling hands. I let out a sigh of relief, there was no one there.

I looked up to come face to face with a rugged man. He was wearing a green worn-out sweatshirt and a black mask over his face hiding his identity. I tried to scream, but no sound was coming out of my mouth.

The man gestured towards me and then pointed two fingers toward his eyes before he turned around and disappeared into the thick forest. I was paralyzed in my spot, how can this rogue come inside the pack unnoticed?

“Sarah?” a cold hand touched my shoulder, making me jump in fright, and I turned around to see that it was Mrs.Earnshaw. “Are you all right?”

“I…um….yes, let’s go inside.” I stammered and pulled her back inside. That rogue is giving me a peculiar yet familiar feeling. And I have a feeling that he was not satisfied seeing me alive. My eyes started to water at the thought of someone trying to kill me now.

“Darling, are you all right? You look pale.”

“I am fine, Mrs. Earnshaw. I haven’t had a proper meal yet.” I said, and she nodded her head in understanding.

“I know, I heard what happened. And I was very sad when I heard that Rina was brutally murdered.” Mrs.Earnshaw said, and she broke down in so bs. And I immediately got up from my place and pulled her into a hug.

“I heard everything, sweetheart, and I can never blame you for what happened. But I am thankful for you trying to save her,” she said with a smile on her face.

“Our Alpha and beta will not rest until they find the killer, Mrs.Earnshaw. You don’t worry.” I consoled her, and she nodded her head, and then we were both engulfed in a comfortable silence. I don’t know how long we were like that, but after a while, Mrs.Earnshaw pulled back from me and wiped her face.

“Thank you, please have your coffee, and then we can talk about what you came here for.”
