Sarah Williams – POV 

I made sure to wear a tank top on top of a sports bra because I know that the sizzling desire between us will surely distract us during our training session, and I don’t want to blindly fall for Zachary again because even though I know what his thoughts about me are, there is still a small part in my heart that keeps whispering that he would change his mind any 

moment. 

After checking my attire in the mirror one last time, I quickly made my way downstairs. The moment I reached the landing, my nostrils were filled with the smell of bacon and toast, and simultaneously my tummy growled in hunger. 

Well, I think there is no harm in just taking a bite before going for training. 

I made my way to the kitchen, and to my surprise, I saw Zachary near the stove cooking the bacon, I was about to turn around and leave the place when I heard his voice. “Come and join me for breakfast, Sarah.” he turned around and placed two plates on the table, which already had two mugs of coffee. 

“Um…” 

“Breakfast is a must. This is another rule in my house,” he said, and I know that I will not be able to object to that, so I slowly made my way to the table and took a seat in front of my plate. I took the coffee mug in my hand, and my nose immediately wrinkled in disgust. I hate drinking black coffee and especially in the morning, but I know that I can not complain right now,

so holding my breath, I took a few sips before I dug into my food. Once we were done with our food, I took the plates and washed them while Zachary went to his office to get 

something. 

“Ready to go?” he asked me when I came to the main door, and I nodded my head, and we soon left his house and made our way into the forest till we came to the training grounds where no one else was training. “I will teach you how to defend today,” he said, I nodded my head, and we soon got into position. 

Two hours of strenuous workouts left me out of breath, but I 

was also able to learn a lot of new maneuvers from Zachary, so I was thankful for that. “We are done for today,” he said and gave me his hand, and I used that to pull myself up from the ground. “We will continue our training tomorrow.” 

“Sure, thank you, beta Alan,” I said, and when I was about to leave him, he held my hand and pulled me back, which made 

me collide with his chest. 

“You’re most welcome, Ara,” he whispered, and I felt my entire body tinkle with the new nickname that he gave me, leaving me mesmerized. His eyes were still guarded, making sure no emotions were visible, which greatly confused me. Is he meddling with my feelings again? Has he found a new to make me feel worse? A chaste kiss was placed on my forehead before he stepped away from me and walked away.

“Oh yes, my name is Valerie, and this little bundle of joy is Primrose,” she said and tickled her baby, who giggled, which made my heart fill with joy.

“Sarah,” she finished my sentence, and I gave her a puzzled look. 

“Everyone knows who you are since you are under the Beta’s protection,” she explained, and my cheeks immediately colored a light shade of pink.

smile on her face vanished. Prim was sound asleep on her mother’s lap, but I can feel the thick tension that was in the atmosphere. 

“Maybe, it was a random attack.” she shuddered her shoulder, but I saw the fear in her eyes, and her hands were slightly trembling. 

“I don’t think it is a random attack, Valerie. Because the rogue came by my house first, before he came to yours, and if it was a random attack, he could have easily attacked me.” I said, my eyebrows narrowed when I saw her eyes widen when I told her this information. I know that Valerie was hiding something. 

“I heard that your fiance was with you that night, so I think maybe he thought it was not a wise choice.” she tried to reason, but I shook my head and got up from the sofa and took a seat on the floor opposite her. 

“He killed a man who was ten times more stronger than him. So, I don’t think he would have had any problem trying to kill both Noah and me. He was the same rogue who killed Mrs.Earnshaw’s niece too, and even then, I was there, I saw him ask her about something. From the looks of it, he is searching for something, and I have a feeling that you know what it is.” I said, and she let out a tired sigh.
