Sarah Williams – POV 

I was about to open the driver-side door when a hand prevented me from doing so. And I looked to my right to see Dimitri with a smirk on his face. “I bet you have no idea

where the beta’s pack is. So, allow me to drive,” he said, and I contemplated giving him my car, but in the end, I sighed and stepped away from him, and made my way to sit in the passenger seat.

The minute my seat belt clicked, Dimitri whirled the car and raced away from the pack house like a maniac. “Woah! Are you trying to kill us?” I yelled at him while I had a strong grip on the handle above my head.

“Don’t be afraid, sweetheart, I will make sure you go to that pack in one piece,” he reassured me, but I was still not convinced.

“Please slow down.” I pledged, and he looked me in the eye and sighed before he reduced the speed, and simultaneously, I relaxed a bit too. “So, are you a warrior?”

“Yes,” he said.

“You know this pack is very secretive to the outside world, so I was not able to gather enough information. All I know is that it is the largest pack in the world and the number one in everything. But something is off in this place.” I didn’t know why I was telling him all this, but my curious mind just didn’t want to stop. “Have you seen the Gam ma of this pack? I mean, I have only seen the faces of the Alpha and

Beta of the White Blood pack in magazines and newspapers, but I have never seen the Gam ma.”

“Our Gam ma likes to stick to himself, and he is not a media person like the other two,” Dimitri responded.

“I don’t think so. I mean, no one has ever seen his face, but there are rumors that he is ruthless and cun n ing. And I hope I don’t meet that guy at the pack, I am going to stay in.”

“Everyone is ruthless in this pack, Miss.Williams.”

“I know, but I am not telling in regards to fights. He breaks woman’s hearts. He lures them into a fake love and then deserts them forever.”

“Who told you this?” Dimitri asked me, and I looked at him to see that he was having a calm expression.

“I didn’t have friends in my old pack. But I overheard one of my colleagues talking about it.” I said, and he gave me a small smile.

“Our Gam ma is sent out to do a lot of secretive missions. Maybe it is just one of them,” he said, and I nodded my head. Soon we turned into a small lane that had a few houses, and then Dimitri soon parked my car in front of another pack house. I got down from the car and followed Dimitri inside the house.

When we were passing by the hallway, two more warriors were coming towards us, and they bowed their heads in Dimitri’s directions, which greatly confused me.

Maybe he is the head warrior.

“Is Beta Alan in his office?” Dimitri asked them.

“That’s alright,” he said and then continued moving, and I followed him like a lost puppy. When we reached an oak door, he stood there for a few seconds before he knocked, and I heard a gruff voice say ‘come in.’ we went in, and Dimitri stood in front of me, blocking the view of the Beta.

“What do you want, Dimitri?” the person asked, and I felt butterflies erupt in my stomach again.

“Adrian send in the new trainee, but there is an issue.” Gam ma Dimitri said and moved forward and gave him a paper. The smell of sea salt and pineapple invaded my senses, which stirred my wolf awake again.

“Mate!” my heartbeat stopped, and my eyes widened.

This can’t be happening!

And at that exact moment, Gam ma Dimitri moved aside, so now I was in my mate’s view. He was the most handsome man that I have ever seen in my life. The forest green eyes were mesmerizing with his sharp features and a prominent jawline that could cut your finger if you touched it. His upper body was very well built, with a broad shoulder and bulging arms just the right size. And I bet he must be over six feet in height.

When our eyes locked with each other, there were thousands of emotions swirling in his eyes non of which I could decipher because he soon masked his emotions and stared straight at me. And my mood was immediately dampened, knowing that when we are alone, he will reject me, like how Alpha Vanguard did. So, I men tally prepared myself for that because I know that it is going to come sooner or later.

“She will be going through the basic training before we

accept any member into our pack for the next year.” Gam ma Dimitri said, and this broke us both from the trance that we were in.

“She was not here to train as a warrior?” Beta Alan asked, and Gam ma Dimitri shook his head, I was ashamed when I realized that my mate was embarrassed that his mate doesn’t even know the basic skills of fighting.

“Well, that’s alright. So, why don’t you take her to level five and show her the guest bedroom?” Beta Alan asked.

“Oh, I thought we were giving her the cottage outside the pack house, where all the other warriors are staying in.” Gam ma Dimitri asked.

“She is a she-wolf, Dimitri. And do you expect her to stay in a house filled with testosterone-filled male wolves? Even if you are staying there, I don’t think it is safe. Take her to the place I said.” Beta Alan said in finality, and then he went back to typing something, which signaled that the

discussion was over.

“Shall we go?” Dimitri asked me, and I meekly nodded my head before we left his room, we went further up, where

Dimitri showed me which one is my new room, and then he left me soon after that, saying that he has some work that he wants to complete.
