Chapter 5

Sarah Williams – POV 

I stared at the oak door for a couple of minutes before I slowly pushed open the door and entered the dark room. After turning in the lights, I hauled in all my suitcases and arranged them in the side before closing my room door. The room was bigger than what I had back in my house, and the wood finish was very appealing to the eyes. Other than that, the room was bare, there was a cupboard, a queen–sized bed with a desk and chair next to the bed, and a French door to the right side of the bed that opened to a balcony and an attached bathroom. 

I took a seat on the bed and closed my eyes, letting my mind relax and process everything that happened in these. twenty–four hours. “It’s not that bad, Sarah. At least we found our second chance mate.” my wolf said in an eccentric voice, and I sighed and shook my head at her foolish behavior. 

“Did he even acknowledge our presence, Jane?” I asked her, and she became quiet. “I have a feeling that he might reject us sooner or later. So, I don’t want to get my hopes high.” I said, and she whined, but I know that she understood. I looked out at the night sky for a couple more moments before I went to the washroom to take a shower. 

Knock, knock.

“I spoke to Adrian. Your training starts tomorrow morning at five,” he said in an emotionless tone and soon left my room, leaving me in a daze. After locking my room again, I turned off the lights and climbed into bed, and closed my eyes, instantly falling asleep. 

I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring next to my ear, and I got up from the bed to see that it was pitch dark outside and the alarm clock read four thrifty in the morning. 

Urgh, sometimes you will have to do things that you completely despise. Like getting up in the middle of the night. 

After taking a quick shower, I wore a pink sports bra and booty shorts paired with my running shoes, and my hoodie before I left my room and went downstairs to the huge dining room that I saw last night. 

“Good morning!” Dimitri’s overly enthusiastic voice greeted me from across the hallway while I looked around my surrounding. The entire dinner table was filled with warriors. having their breakfast, which made me instantly 

apprehensive and self–conscious of my body. I should have at least worn a pair of pants. “Come and have a seat here,” Dimitri yelled, and I nodded my head before I went and took a seat next to him and another warrior, who had an arrogant smirk on his face. 

After I took a piece of toast and some bacon, I began eating

my meal while amicable chatter surrounded me. “I am Noah. What is your name?” 

“Huh?” I was astonished that he even spoke to me. 

“I am Sarah.” 

“So, how did you manage to qualify to become a warrior?” 

“Oh, I am not here to train as a warrior. The main pack doesn’t have a house for me to stay in, so I am put into this pack for the next three months. And also, I am supposed to learn the basic fighting skills before I officially join the White Blood pack.” I told him, and he nodded his head, that was all we spoke till it was time for me to head outside for my practice sessions. 

The sky was still dark, but the pack was well–lit, and I followed the other warriors toward the training ground. When we reached the training ground, I stood on the sidelines waiting for the Beta to come, and I saw Noah making his way toward me. “So, will you be training with us?” 

“I don’t know. The beta didn’t tell me anything, other than to be here at five.” I said, and he nodded his head, just then, I got the smell of sea salt and pineapple, and simultaneously, the entire pack became silent. 

“Good morning, warriors. Today we will be fighting in our wolf forms, so quickly get into pairs and start your training.” his voice rang loud and clear, and soon everyone started moving, and Noah too left me. I was fascinated looking at all the wolves fighting that I didn’t notice Beta Alan’s tense body to me. “Have you fought with another wolf before,

“N…no, Beta Alan,” I answered meekly, and he nodded his head before it was silent again. Ten minutes passed before I saw Noah approaching us. 

“Beta,” he slightly bowed his head. 

“Noah is one of our best warriors here. And from now on, he will be training you in your basic defense.” Beta Alan 

announced, I nodded my head, and he left us alone without a word. 

“So, shall we begin?” he asked me from the mysterious smile on his face, I know that I am not going to be liking what he has in store for me. 

“I…I h…hate you!” I screamed when I passed by Noah. 

“You will hate me more in the upcoming days, Princess. But now you got to keep running. Two more laps.” he yelled back at me, and I shook my head and willed my poor legs to run faster. This was pure torture, making a girl run twenty laps around the forest on her very first day of training. 

I was breathless, and my entire body was drenched in sweat, so I removed my hoodie and threw it on a patchy spot of grass, and continued running. 

“You are almost done!” Noah yelled, and with my last ounce of energy, I pushed myself till I came to a stop in front of Noah and immediately dropped to the ground taking large breaths. “Not bad for a first–timer. You finished running in sixty–eight minutes, but this is not enough for a werewolf.” this sentence aggravated me, and I glared at him.
