“Okay,” she agreed finally. 

His head fell. He rested his forehead against her shoulder, breathing heavily “What are we doing. Ana?” Damien asked hesitantly. 

“I don’t know,” she whispered, running her hand through his hair. “What do you want us to do?” 

Damien finally lifted his head. “I want you. I thought I made that clear” He pushed her shirt away from her shoulder and kissed the newly revealed spot “I want us together.” 

Ana tapped her chin and crooked her finger so that she could speak into his ear. He turned his head to the side and she smiled as she spoke the words. 

“I want us, too.” 

Damien turned his head immediately and crashed his lips down on hers passionately. Her body started to react again, but as Ana tried to bring him closer, he started to back away. 

Damien’s lips lingered, silently promising Ana the world. Eventually, their touches were nothing more than the flapping of a butterflies wings. Soon, they were apart.. 

Damien settled himself between her and the back of the couch, wrapping his arms around her waist before burying his face in Ana’s neck. She could feel that he was still hard, but neither of them did anything about it. 

“I answered your question,” she spurred on after a few minutes of silence. 

His chest vibrated as he laughed. “I should know better than to try to distract you. It never works.” 

“You should have known,” she challenged. “But that doesn’t mean I disliked it. Actually, I welcome your attempts to distract me at any time. Just don’t expect me to actually forget what we were talking about.” 

Ana felt Damien’s breath on her ear. “Is that a challenge, Miss Reid?” he paused. “I bet I could make you forget,” he finished huskily 

“Maybe you can, but you won’t,” she said confidently. “At least not tonight. So, what did you say to Marcus?” 

Damien hummed. “I said- 

Ana lifted her brow, waiting for Damien’s response. “Damien?” 

Damien swallowed. 

“Is it bad?” 

Damien looked up and shook his head. “No.” 

He didn’t know why he was so nervous to tell her. He had already told her everything. He had exposed himself to the core. Anastasia wanted them, 

wanted him. 

“Then?” 

“I told him that you always had and always will be mine,” he said slowly. So, he paraphrased a little. He would leave out the gory details because he didn’t want Ana to see him as a crude caveman. 

“You’re not telling me everything, are you?” 

“That is essentially what I said,” Damien admitted and cleared his throat. 

Ana furrowed her brow thoughtfully before giving up. “I am going to accept that for now. But I intend on getting the whole thing out of you soon.” 

“And I will be happy to reveal the details… someday.” 

Ana cleared her throat “You do know that our biggest problem is the lack of communication, right?” 

Damien shrugged. “We are communicating. I just think you may not appreciate what I said word for word. Not right now. So I am going to wait.” 

“Wait for what?”

“Wait until I am sure you won’t run for the hills.” 

Anastasia whispered, “I am not going anywhere, Damien.” 

“Good,” he whispered back. “I kind of like you here right now! 

Damien kissed the back of her head and she snuggled into his arms. At some point, they fell asleep. And when Damien awake, the room was lit with sunlight. It had to be at least seven in the morning 

They had not moved throughout the night because one of Damien’s arms was numb from holding Ana’s neck. Her petite body was curled up against him, but she had shifted just a little so that Damien could see her face without much effort. 

She grumbled in her sleep but refused to wake up. Damien ignored his aching muscles and just stared at her. One muscle, in particular, was definitely asking for some attention. Damien was trying hard not to allow it to rub against her leg, but he wasn’t very successful in his endeavor. When Anastasia 

began to stir, Damien decided to try and distract her. 

Damien pushed her hair away from her face and neck before gently pressing his lips against her skin. She made little noises but kept her eyes closed. Damien removed his lips, finding another spot before repeating his action. He watched as her mouth twists and knew instantly that Ana was not as sleepy as she was pretending to be. 

Damien placed a gentle kiss on her neck and onto her shoulder and then started up toward her ear. 

“What are you plotting?” she asked huskily. 

“Nothing.” he said innocently. 

Ana laughed. “This doesn’t feel like nothing. Oh- she gasped as he gently tugged her earlobe with his teeth. 

Damien smiled against her skin. The arm which was under her waist wandered under her shirt, tracing over her ribcage. He kept moving upwards, waiting for her to stop him. About when he reached the underside of her breast, Damien realized that she had no plan on stopping him. She was wearing a satin bra which made Damien want to run his fingers all over it. 

They were silent except for the sound of their breathing. Damien was sure he could feel the thumping of her heart against his chest. And he was sure Ana could feel his, too. Damien started tracing around her breast in small circles, enjoying the texture of the silk on the pad of his finger. When he switched the direct, the fabric gave a little resistance before it met the skin. Slowly, his finger traced around her nipple. The smallest of touches overwhelmed him. He was about to burst. He wanted to lift her shirt and suck on her roll his tongue around the little bud and- 

He stopped himself from thinking more. 

He felt her shift closer to his hand and knew what Ana was trying to do. She wanted Damien to touch him more. He wanted to tease her, but he didn’t dare do it for fear that Ana would ask him to stop.
