With everything I have learnt, the last thing that I expected was for us to get on a plane. I mean these people are gods why can’ we just teleport to Zambia?

Obrien has his eyes closed even though I know that he is not actually sleeping, I can feel it in my soul that he is awake and weirdly with this new power I am able to tell what exactly is on his mind.

‘You shamelessly want to have sex with me right now?’ I ask shaking my head

He laughs

‘This new earned power is going against me, honestly I would have loved for you to continue being the innocent girl that you have always been but look at you.’

I roll my eyes, I want to convince myself that I believe everything these people have told me but who wakes up one day and accept that they are carrying a god in them and they are part of some great war?

‘Tell me something.’ I say before sighing really hard

‘So what happens when this war is over and done with? Will you be going back to your kingdom?’

‘Considering the amount of power you have now I want to believe that you know the answer to that.’ He says

I look away, I will keep Yakari for a month and after that he has to go back and be with the gods. I am a human and I can’t keep their child, it’s like I am just being used for reproduction and nothing else. I know I was never ready to have a child but now that we are here how am I supposed to give him up?

‘We are here.’ He says

I didn’t even realize that we were landing, I have played it in my head over and over again what I am going to say to Caleb and Nancy but nothing makes any sense.

Obrien’s car is waiting for us at the airport when we get there, I had hoped to just use a taxi and get home but it looks like he has other plans in mind.

‘I want you to rest before facing your brother, I know the past few days have been like to you. I have only been gone two days.’ I correct.

‘Not in the real world.’

‘What?’

‘In the world of the humans you have been gone three months.’

‘What?’ I ask and he doesn’t flinch and I know it’s the truth.

‘So how come my pregnancy is still the same?’

‘You are not carrying a human babe.’

I choose not to respond to that. The rest of the drive is quiet, we get to new kasama just before 8PM. All of a sudden I feel tired and I want to rest.

‘Your bath is ready.’ He says when we have settled

I go to the bathroom and he has put the same herbs in my water like they had done back in Malawi, this time I don’t even bother protesting.

I get out of my clothes and I stand next to the tub, I can see from the corner of my eye that Obrien is staring at me.

‘I am not sure if it’s you carrying Yakari but you are more beautiful now than I have ever known you to be.’

‘You are just horny.’ I say and that makes him laugh

‘Who even says such things?’

‘I do.’

He moves close to where I am and wraps his hands around me.

‘I hope you still know within you that I love you, that there is nothing that can happen today that will make me change my feelings towards you.’

‘How am I sure that you genuinely love me anymore? Just what if you lured me into falling for you with your powers?’

‘I know you don’t believe that, I know your words are bitter on the tongue because they are not true.’

I roll my eyes, I hate that he knows me so well and honestly I no longer want to love him. Not after everything I have learnt, it’s just not possible to still have feelings for him.

‘Your water will get cold.’

‘Bath with me.’ I say

I watch as he gets out of his clothes, Obrien has always been a well-built man and now that I am seeing him with a pair of different eyes looking at him is more beautiful than it ever has been.

I don’t know why but I stand on my toes and place my lips on his, he responds with hunger. We kiss for a few seconds before I feel him grow hard, his member is pricking my thigh and I can’t help but laugh.

‘You are really going to laugh right now?’

His questions makes me laugh even further.

I hold my head when I feel a slight pain.

‘Are you okay?’

‘Besa.’

‘What?’

‘He is on his way here.’ I say holding my head

I clear my head of everything, the only way he can go back is if Claudia calls him for an emergency and I bring her face to mind then make her call him. He turns around and starts driving back, when I get my head right my hair has grown an inch longer and more gold strands are showing.

‘I guess this hair will eventually be gold.’ I say looking at Obrien who seems amazed.
