“Watch out!”
The little boy fell to the ground just before Timothy could issue his warning.
Colton’s brows furrowed as he stepped forward and helped the little boy. For some reason, he felt a sense of familiarity when he saw the boy, but he was sure he had never seen this boy before.
“Where are your parents?” Colton asked solemnly.
The little boy shook his head, looking bewildered.
Colton seethed with anger at his parents‘ irresponsibility even though the child was unrelated to him.
Without hesitation, he carried the child to his car.
“Mr. Zeller?” Timothy looked at Colton in surprise, wondering when Colton had ever concerned himself with unrelated matters. “We don’t know where the child came from. Wouldn’t it be better to take him to the police station?”
Colton gave him a look and kept quiet.
Lukas, the “lost little boy,” was quietly observing Colton. He couldn’t help. but frown at Colton’s actions.
Lukas had been forced to plan everything out today because Luna had been clamoring to see Colton ever since she found out they had a father. However, worried that she would give herself away, he reluctantly promised to come and see their father on her behalf.

Lukas secretly pouted as he observed the strikingly handsome and aloof Colton.
Timothy had no choice but to instruct the driver to drive off while
reporting Colton’s schedule to him. “We were supposed to head to the city hall with Ms. Shelley to discuss the land issue with Hubert. If there are no concerns, we can sign the contract today.”
Colton hummed in agreement as his gaze remained fixed on the little boy beside him.
Ms. Shelley?
Lukas was taken aback by his mother’s name and tried his best to keep a straight face.
He knew his mom was collaborating with him on work matters lately but had no idea they had a meeting that day. His secret would be exposed if his mom saw him.
In a panic, he pretended to be sick, something Luna would always do after getting into trouble.
He covered his stomach with his hands and yelped in pain.
Colton, who had been keeping a close eye on him, immediately lifted Lukas onto his lap. With furrowed brows, he asked, “What’s wrong with you?”
Lukas, who had never told a lie before this, turned red in the face. After a long while, he finally blurted out, “I have a stomachache.”
“Turn the car around and head to the hospital,” Colton instructed the driver without hesitation. He then asked coldly, “Can you still bear it?”

Colton thought that Lukas was in so much pain that he couldn’t talk when he saw Lukas’s red face.
He hesitated for a moment before placing his hand on Lukas’s stomach. “Where does it hurt?”
Lukas’s face turned beet red when he noticed the large hand on his stomach. He lowered his head and mumbled but didn’t say anything else.
Under normal circumstances, Colton would have been very impatient with him. However, he still put his hand on Lukas’s belly with a thunderous face without a word.
They soon arrived at the hospital. Nevertheless, Lukas was reluctant to get out of the car. “My stomach doesn’t hurt anymore. There’s no need to go to the hospital.”
Colton’s coldly snorted, “Your face turned red with pain just a moment.

“I didn’t!” Lukas shook his head. “I don’t need to go to the hospital.”
Colton gave him a look and suddenly reached out to tuck Lukas under his arm. “Let’s go.”
Lukas was dumbfounded. Having been pampered since he was a child, this was the first time someone had carried him away like this!
“Let go of me!” Lukas cried out in alarm. However, he realized that he wouldn’t be able to get away and decided to stop struggling when he saw that Colton remained unmoved.
The two of them attracted quite a bit of attention, but Colton didn’t care as he carried Lukas straight to the registration desk.

“Name.” Colton ignored the nurse’s curious gaze and asked Lukas in a deep voice.
Lukas turned his head away and ignored him.
Colton didn’t hesitate to slap his butt at that. “Tell me!”
Lukas covered his buttocks as his eyes brimmed with tears. He had no choice but to create a fake name for himself when he saw Colton’s determined gaze. “Julian.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than a nurse approached them.
The nurse exclaimed in surprise when she saw Lukas. “Lukas? Why are you here? Do you have an allergic reaction?”
Colton’s stared at Lukas in surprise.
Lukas never expected to meet the nurse who cared for him the last time. The latter even recognized her, much to his surprise. Unable to hold back any longer, Lukas burst into tears.
The nurse, who was growing suspicious, suddenly snatched Lukas into her arms. “Who are you? Where are his parents?”
Colton was caught off guard to have Lukas suddenly taken away from him. His eyes darkened. “Put the child down.”
Timothy quickly explained their encounter with the child and showed the Zeller Group’s work ID to the nurse at the turn of events. Though reluctant, the nurse finally believed them.
However, she kept a hold on Lukas. “Our hospital has information about this child’s parents. I will contact them.”
Colton gave her a cold look. “Why should I believe you?”

The nurse felt somewhat intimidated as she met his gaze but remained insistent. “Since we don’t trust each other, why don’t we contact the child’s parents right here and now?”
Colton shrugged, and the reception nurse quickly dialed Cynthia’s phone number.
“Hello?”
Colton squinted his eyes the moment Cynthia’s voice came through the speakerphone.
He interrupted before the nurse could speak. “Cynthia?”
Cynthia was taken aback on the other end and instinctively checked the caller’s number again. “Colton?”
Knowing that things were not looking good, Lukas quickly slipped out of the nurse’s grasp while both the nurse and Colton were distracted and managed to weave through the crowd to make his escape,
Shocked, the nurse hurriedly went after him.
Just as Colton was about to give chase, a young lady suddenly blocked his way. “Colt, are you here to pick me up?”
Colton stared at Elsa. The miscarriage had taken a tollon her, leaving her noticeably frail,
At that moment, she was staring at Colton with anticipation, and the birthmark on her arm was even more noticeable.
After a moment of silence, Colton turned to Timothy. “Please send Ms. Larson back. I’ll go look for that child.”
He walked away at that.

Elsa stared at Timothy in astonishment. “Child? What child?”
Timothy cried out inwardly but maintained his smile. He explained the situation to Elsa, “The president has a strong sense of responsibility. He probably feels that he should look after the child since he brought him to the hospital.”
Elsa tightened her grip on her handbag and forced a smile. “It’s all right. Please send me home then.”
Timothy quickly agreed to it and left the hospital with Elsa.
