Chapter 25

Jaxon’s POV

I sensed them. I felt two demons running freely in the castle... I felt them grow more weary with every step I took. They are definitely more obedient to Seth than me, due to him being the Prince of Demons...

But I’ve been around in the mythical world longer than him. The demons know who I am. They know that I’m royalty myself... and they know what I could do if they disobey me. The demon that had possessed Jules is going to be facing such awful punishments...

I wandered down the halls of the castle. The maids greeted me with a soft smile... they must be aware Seth is back. His people are kind people, really... I don’t blame them for being judgemental at first. His ancestors have trained it into their minds that the mythical world is dangerous. Though back then humans were considered weak and useless... but now we don’t want to fight. We want to join together as one.

I stopped in front of Seth’s room. I knew Jules’s parents were in the room... I felt it. I remember when I brought Seth into his room after returning to the castle... that’s when I realized we were soul mates. It still amazes me to this day... oh how time passes.

I opened the doors to his room... the sight disgusting me.

The room was in shambles. They were going through everything that was his. His closet of clothes were thrown recklessly around the room. His jewels and other crowns were smashed on the floor. They were laughing demonically, how there was no way Seth was their Prince. A pampered Prince could never tell them what to do.

″How about the son of Leviathan?″

They whipped their heads around, their black eyes wide in fear. They were definitely Jules parents... his father looked just like him. It made my heart clench... why was the demon world in shambles? What has Lucifer been up to?

″Prince Jax-″

″Jaxon. Are you aware of what bodies you are in control of?″ I asked as I walked further into the room, the doors closing behind me. With every step I took... they took a step back.

″That kid Jules parents... we were just told what to do, sir.″ One of them said. The other one had a twisted smile on its face. It had the body of Jules father... but I knew what it was.

″Oh... it doesn’t matter. They are just humans, Jaxon... It’s not like you’re one.″ They said viciously, approaching me. I reached my hand back towards my bow and arrow, making him stop in his place.

″You can’t hurt me... you’d be killing the boy’s father. Tragic, isn’t it?″ It said with a smile. Jules’s mother slowly approached me, the same smirk lingering on her face.

″It’s not like you’re pure yourself... you’re half demon yourself. You’ll never be perfect... you’re impure. Just like us...″ It said. It’s not like I wanted to be like this... They were telling me everything my uncle told me.

″Enough of this nonsense. Leave the bodies or you will be severely punished like your other demon friend.″ I snapped.

″This world... it’s filled with the grotesque and divine. Human and the mythical world... two sides of the coin. But you’ve seemed to get both sides... head and tail.″ Jules’s mother said to me. She walked beside me, trailing her nail down my jaw.

″I wonder how it is... knowing you’re half of the lowest class on this earth. A filthy little demon... Just like us. I wonder why our Prince was paired up with you... Nature seemed to pity you after your last fling.″ His father mumbled to me.

″Elena was her name... am I correct? The princess of Rome... the vampire girl.″ The mother said to him. He let out a demonic laugh as he rested his arm on my shoulder, gazing at me with a pitiful smirk.

I ripped myself away from their grip, listening to the demonic laughter leak out of their throats.

″I am a Prince of the underworld... I am your LEADER. LEAVE THE BODIES NOW.″ I demanded them. The smirks left their faces for a moment before they returned.

″You told your father long ago you didn’t even want to have that name... You didn’t want to be half demon. Why should we listen to you when you’re worse than we are? Human and Demon... no wonder your mother killed herself.″

″LEAVE THE BODIES THIS INSTANT!″

They fell back into the wall with a great big smack, my words laced with my power and magic. I felt the gust of wind twist in the room with my anger...

It knocked them right out of their bodies. The demons looked at me in shock, guilt lingering in their eyes.

″Sir-″

I reached back and grabbed an arrow along with my bow. They flew around the room in fear, screaming demonically about nonsense. I finally shot an arrow through the female demon. She died with a scream, ashes falling onto the floor.

″We will return over and over again until we get what we want!″ The male demon hissed. I aimed the arrow at his chest, releasing it from the bow.

It exploded into ashes with an ear piercing scream. They were banished to hell... where they should be.

I couldn’t help but wonder what they were going on about. What did they want from Seth? I knew that they wanted him to rule... but why would they start a rebellion against authority?

″...Did you save us?″ A voice whimpered out. I brought my direction towards Jules’s parents. They were staring at me in amazement, tears rolling down their cheeks. I made my way over to them, falling to my knees.

″Yes, my lady. I’m Jaxon Di Angelo. You’re safe.″ I said to her. She nodded her head, her blonde curls bouncing with every movement.

″But... but you’re a warlock...″ Jules’s father whispered. I flashed him a soft smile, gazing into his grey eyes. He looked awfully a lot like Jules.

″You missed a lot while you were gone, sir. But... we are finally uniting the kingdoms. There’s no reason to fear me.″ I reassured him. I stood up slowly, extending hands for both of them. They hesitated at first, gazing at each other with fear. They finally took my hands.

″You did save us after all... thank you.″

″Your son is in the Queen’s room with Seth and Estelle. Would you like to go see him?″ I asked them, ignoring the thanks. They flashed me a soft smile, nodding their head eagerly.

I brought them to the Queen’s room in silence. I knew they were still wary of me, regardless if I saved them or not. It wasn’t just because I was a warlock... they must have heard the conversation I was having with the demons. About my heritage... and my demeanor. I was much bigger than them in size and height.

When we entered the Queen’s room I couldn’t help but smile. The three of them were sitting on the floor in a triangle formation. I’m pretty sure the conversation was about Seth and I... Seth’s face was flushing bright red, Estelle was winking at him suggestively.

Jules’s eyes landed on his parents, his eyes welling up with tears. He pulled himself off the floor and into the arms of his parents with a delighted laugh. Estelle and Seth pulled themselves off the floor, making their way over to me.

″So... the demons are banished as well?″ Seth asked me. I nodded my head, trying my best to flash him a smile. The words that the demons said to me kept running in my head over and over again... I hated it. I shouldn’t let lower class demon’s get to me like that...

My eyes found their way to Seth’s arm. He was wearing a black long sleeved shirt... but I could see the glowing of his mark. I knew it meant that I needed him. I think he knew that too.

″Are you okay?″ He asked me. His green eyes had a neon tint to them... If I’m being honest... I felt awful. But I’m always the one comforting him... he has too much on his plate.

″I’m okay, Angel.″ I said with a smile. He squinted his eyes at me... I could never get anything past him. He went to say something to me... before Estelle placed a hand on his shoulder.

″You must do a speech to the people... announce that you’re back and your plans for the kingdom. They will listen to you...″ She said to him. Jules and his parents pilled out of the room... I assumed for the speech. Seth took one more look at me, a serious expression on his lips.

″After this speech and dinner, we will speak. I know something is wrong... we are linked, remember?″ He said with a smirk.

I leaned forward, placing a kiss on his cheek. His snow white skin flashed a bright red once I pulled away, his eyes glowing bright green.

″Good luck, Angel.″

All of Seth’s kingdom was gathered below him. Seth stood above all of us. I expected him to grow bright red in embarrassment... but he had a confident smirk as people approached. That’s when I remembered... he has grown up with these people. The day would come for him to take the throne.

″You must be proud,″ Jayce said as he approached me. He placed a hand on his back, his lips were twisted with a smirk. The rest of them approached me as they chattered amongst themselves.

″He does look rather magnificent,″ I admitted. His hands were wrapped around the ledge, a smile on his face as he looked down at the women below him. There were girls throwing him roses, their faces flushed at his glance. I suppose Estelle really stressed the true nature of Seth... he didn’t want to hurt anyone. He still loves them no matter who his father is.

″Just think... you’ll be running this kingdom too. That’s a big job!″ Elena said to me. I furrowed my eyebrows, turning around and gazing at my friends. Jin and Magdalene were gazing at me with smiles, their fingers intertwined.

″What do you mean?″

He’s the son of Lucifer...

″What did those demons say to you?″ Jayce asked me, concern in his voice. I should tell him... he’s my best friend. We have known each other for years.

I went to speak, but I heard Seth begin to speak. I turned away from my friends with a sigh, gazing up at him.

″I apologize to the mothers and children for such a late speech... but I had matters to take care of.″ He started. Everyone chattered amongst themselves... but it was all words of encouragement.

″I also apologize for my absence. Though... things have happened. And I’m here to discuss them with you all.″ He continued.

″Jules Angelle and his parents were possessed. Please have mercy on them when you see them in the markets. It was not their doing to... execute my mother. May her soul rest in peace.″

Everyone let out a loud gasp. They didn’t know what to say... it really was just silence. Seth no longer had his confident smirk... he looked distressed. I knew he was sad... He missed his kingdom. I knew sometimes he missed his mother... regardless of everything she’s done to him.

″Also... let me address the elephant in the room. I... I am in fact the son of Lucifer.″

Everyone remained silent.

″But that does not determine who I am as a person. I love each and every one of you... You have all seen me grow up. I’ve served each and every one of you with only love in my heart.″

Everyone let out a delightful cheer, shouting back words of love. I felt a smile lingering on my lips...

″Due to my heritage... I am the highest ranking figure in the mythical world. And with that... I’d like to throw away the old customs. I would like to bring together the mythical world and France once more.″

″Are you insane?″

″We must trust him... he’s our King!″

″They will listen to him!″

″My friends... I didn’t propose this. The mythical world did. I know some of you... some of you have lovers behind closed doors that are warlocks. Some are vampires. You have friends...″ He went on. His smile was slowly returning to his face.

I...I could finally be with my love in peace.

″My fami- My friends... they are here. They are beautiful people. You may have seen them wandering around the kingdom... they are warlocks and vampires. You greeted them with love and compassion because they are with me... the mythical world is also on my side too.″ He said confidently.

Everyone began cheering for him. Everyone was on board with the idea... we would no longer have to hide in the woods.

″Prince Seth... how are you sure they won’t hurt us?″ A man exclaimed. He was not defying him... he was simply scared.

Seth flashed him a smirk, his eyes glowing neon green.

″I am royalty. They obey me.″
