Chapter 13: Wonderland

Meanwhile, Victoria had run as fast as her legs could carry her before she got tired.  Right now all she could think of was home and nothing else before she became engulfed in a mini vortex. When it dissipated, she found herself standing in her parent's bedroom and she couldn't help but stare at the empty bed. Something about that empty bed haunted her and sent her running out of the room, down the hall to her room, and hiding under the bedsheets.

Meanwhile, Paula, Julie, Raul, Elizabeth, and a bunch of workers from the company drove frantically through the streets of Houston trying to find a super-powered 6-year-old girl but to no avail. Just as She was ready to give up, Elizabeth Called and put everyone on conference and said "let's try their house" and Paula said "there's no way she could've got in, I locked all the doors before I left" and Elizabeth said, "um she's super-powered". Julie said "fair enough, let's go and remember be calm with her, she's not in any trouble". Paula was the first person to arrive at the house and when she walked in the front door she immediately called Victoria's name but heard nothing. She continued her search through each room until she came to Victoria's. She opened up the door and got down onto the floor and there under the bed, she found Victoria fast asleep.

Paula grabbed her phone and called Julie and said "found her" and Julie said "great we'll meet you there . Paula pulled Victoria from under the bed and gently woke her up and carried her downstairs". Victoria said, "I'm sorry Aunt Paula...I just miss mommy and daddy and I wanted to go find them". Paula hugged her and said, "It's okay Victoria, you're not in trouble honey, we're just glad we found you and that you're safe". After nearly an hour, everyone had finally arrived and made sure Victoria was unhurt, before taking off, leaving Julie, Elizabeth, and Paula there at the house with Victoria.

Julie walked over to Victoria and said "honey you're not in trouble it's quite the opposite...I wanna reward you for being a big girl and waiting here without getting into trouble". Victoria smiled a bit and said "what are we gonna do? and Julie smiled and said "anything you want, for the next few days...we can eat breakfast for dinner, go to the park, stay up late, ride ponies... anything you want sweetie". Victoria clapped and said "yay, first I want to be a princess and ride a pony". Julie smiled and said "you got it" before turning to Paula who said "I got you" and then Elizabeth who said "my kids are at their cousins for a bit so I can stay too". Julie hugged them both and said "thank you" before heading out the door with Victoria and driving over to the costume store". Victoria tried on multiple costumes until she agreed on this beautiful royal blue dress with a golden scepter and silver and blue, jeweled tiara.

After paying for it, Julie took her back to the house, which by now, resembled a beautiful castle with a throne in the living room. There were red carpets and battery-powered torches that lined the hallways and Victoria's room was redecorated with a beautiful canopy over her bed and the balcony to her room. Victoria's eyes lit up as she ran and sat on the throne while Julie went into the kitchen with the girls and Julie smiled and said "thank you for decorating the house dad and please tell mom that I won't be home for a few days and please give the workers who came out extra pay please". He nodded, gave her a hug, and left out after waving goodbye to Victoria. Paula tapped Julie's shoulder and said "go get yourself some rest, we'll take it from here". Julie nodded before heading upstairs to Andrea and Jay's room to get some rest as it was now 7 pm in the evening.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth and Paula came into the living room where Victoria sat on her throne and kneeled before. Paula said "what would you like to do this evening your majesty" and Victoria smiled and said, " I want some blueberry pancakes with ice cream and after that I want us all to have makeovers". Paula stood up with Elizabeth and said "yes m'lady" before bowing again and exiting the room. After about 30 minutes, they called Victoria into the dining room where there was a giant stack of blueberry pancakes with 3 different bowls of ice cream beside it. Victoria sat in her chair, put a napkin in her lap, and went to town on her food which didn't surprise Elizabeth or Paula because she hadn't eaten since breakfast. After finishing her food, she headed upstairs to her room and patiently waited for her servants to tidy up the kitchen.

After her servants joined her, she said three words; "make me prettier" and that's when Paula looked at Elizabeth and said, "this ones all you". Elizabeth smiled and said "alright m'lady" before proceeding to braid Victoria's hair while Paula did her hands and nails. After about 30 minutes they were done and told Victoria to go look in her mirror and when she did, her face glowed with happiness before she ran back over and pulled Paula and Elizabeth into a hug".

Victoria said "now I want to watch my favorite show; star vs the forces of evil and Paula nodded and said "we can do that...I like that show too". They turned out the lights and put the show on her TV but fortunately for them, Victoria had fallen asleep before the episode ended, so Paula tucked her in and grabbed another blanket, and crawled up next to her. Elizabeth said, "that's a good idea, I don't think she'll have the nightmares anymore if she doesn't feel alone". Paula said, "exactly...well goodnight Elizabeth and thank you for everything". She smiled and said "no problem, we're family" before walking out of the room and heading downstairs into a guest room and going to bed early.
