Chapter 41 

“Why did I do that?” 

However, Ragnar actually enjoyed kissing Josephine. He didn’t even mind the germs anymore. “But man, her lips feel great!” 

Ragnar’s eyes fell on Josephine’s cheeks, and he discovered that she didn’t wake up. In fact, she was still sleeping as soundly and deeply as ever. 

He didn’t push her away anymore. “What’s the use? She’ll roll over again. Might as well let her be.” 

It was just that…. 

Ragnar found it hard to fall asleep as he was unaccustomed to having another soft, warm body half on top of him. Not to mention, the heavenly scent of Josephine was all he could smell.

He looked at Josephine angrily and said. “There’s no way a husband will let his wife sleep on the sofa! What if you fall off the couch in the middle of the night? Or what if you catch a cold? Even if those things didn’t happen, how should we explain to Grandma if she was to catch you sleeping on the couch?” 

The more he went on, the angrier he got. He looked at Josephine with his dark eyes and continued, “I was kind enough to carry you to bed, yet you had the nerve to take up the whole bed! Do you know how many times I’ve pushed you aside only

As for Grandma Diana, I’ll make sure to get up early every morning to avoid her catching us sleeping in different places, so you see, Mr. Levine, you needn’t worry so much.” 

Ragnar’s face darkened even more. 

It was as if his anger previously was that of a bubbling volcano, and now it had reached the point of an eruption. 

He was just about to say something when someone opened their bedroom door. 

Diana appeared. She smiled kindly and pretended to cover her eyes with her hands, but everyone could tell she was peeking. out from behind the gaps in her fingers as she looked around the room without a care in the world. “I hope I’m not disturbing you two lovebirds, Ragnar and Josie. 

Ragnar already knew who it was the moment the door was pushed open. After all, who else would have the guts to come into his bedroom so early in the morning without knocking for a surprise visit except for Diana? 

Therefore, without hesitation, he quickly pulled Josephine to him. 

Josephine had moved away from him just moments before. But because of his action, she banged her head against his strong chest; the force was so strong that one could see a lip print as clear as day on Ragnar’s chest. 

“What…?” Before Josephine could ask Ragnar what he was doing, Ragnar whispered an order to her ears, “Stop talking!” 

He then pulled the blanket toward them and covered Josephine and himself so no parts of their body could be seen. 

Ragnar did all that just as Diana was entering the room! At that moment, through the gaps between her fingers, Diana saw the back of Josephine’s head with the rest of her body on top of Ragnar under the blanket. 

Ragnar looked at Diana with his dark eyes. “Grandma!“ 

“Don’t worry. I didn’t see anything. I just thought the two of you might be up already and wanted to call you down for breakfast. Josie, there’s no need to be shy. You can sleep in a little bit more if you want.” Diana smiled, turned around, and left with a satisfied smile on her face. 

Back in the room, Josephine was still on top of Ragnar with the blanket tightly wrapped around them. She turned toward Ragnar and asked, “Has Grandma Diana left?” 

“Yup.” 

Ragnar let go of her. 

He gave Josephine, who was blushing like crazy from nervousness, a teasing look. “I’ve never dated anyone before. That and my mysophobia must have made it hard for my Grandma to believe that I would ever marry someone. I’m sure there will be more surprise visits from her in the future, so there’ll be no more sleeping on the couch for you!” 

Josephine snapped her head up to look at him. “Where should I sleep then? Is he asking me to sleep on the same bed with him just like last night?” she thought. 

“Don’t take up so much space, and sleep properly from now on,” warned Ragnar in a low voice. Then he got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash up before going to the walk–in wardrobe to change into the day’s outfit. 

“Why aren’t you washing up yet?” asked Ragnar when he realized Josephine was still sitting dazedly on the bed. 

“I’ll go now,” said Joséphine. 

“Okay and hurry up. Grandma is waiting for us downstairs,” said Ragnar to Josephine simply. 

“Okay!” 

Ragnar left the bedroom. 

Josephine went to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth. 

Then she went to the walk–in wardrobe and cast her eyes on all the clothes Diana had bought for her. She decided not to wear any of them and put on her old clothes instead. 

It was only when Josephine was putting on her skincare that she saw the jewelry lying around her dresser. Yesterday, Diana. bought all the popular jewelry designs from Balenciaga–a single pair of earrings from the brand alone was enough to feed a person for a lifetime. 

Josephine had never been the materialistic type, but it was hard not to be moved when presented with a whole set of jewelry from Balenciaga. Not to mention all the couture clothes, the bangle, and the black card. 

“Grandma Diana is so thoughtful. It seems like she really likes me and has accepted me into the family as a granddaughter- in–law, thought Josephine. 

When Josephine came downstairs, Diana and Ragnar were sitting on the living room couch. 

Diana immediately smiled kindly when she saw Josephine. “Here you are, Josie. Good timing. Breakfast should be ready.” 

Actually, the breakfast was long prepared. It was obvious Diana and Ragnar were waiting for Josephine to come down so they could have breakfast together. 

“Grandma Diana, you don’t have to wait for me.” 

“Nonsense. You are my granddaughter–in–law, and that makes you the most important person in this family! It’s no fun eating with Ragnar only,” said Diana with a smile.
