I can’t believe it’s her, my mate. As soon as I spotted her on the dance floor my wolf was begging me to go talk to her. Luckily I’m on the third floor and she can’t see me. I told myself I would stay away from her but now she's here and looking amazing in her short blue dress.

I stand by the window watching down below as Dallas and Marcus sit on a couch behind me drinking and talking to some drunk humans they're trying to seduce. Ever since I saw my mate the thought of another girl turns me off. I can’t even stand their cheap perfume or the lustful looks they give me.

As I watch my mate I can’t help but smile. She's a great dancer and she looks so happy and carefree. I wonder what her name is. I bet it’s as beautiful as her. Thinking about her feels so right but also so wrong.

I’m not sure how vampires can tell who their mate is but with werewolves, it's being attracted to their distinct scent and when we make eye contact. When I reach my mate controlling myself and Dallas seems to be harder than expected. Luckily my mate storms off dragging her friends with her before I make eye contact. My wolf begs me to chase after her but I know her leaving is what’s best. Especially after what I just witnessed.

“What do you mean you know who she is? Who is she Dallas?” Marcus my gamma asks and I’m curious also. With her being my mate and Luna Marcus will have the urge to protect her. It's the gamma's job to be the Luna's personal bodyguard. I wonder if he felt the connection between them.

Dallas doesn’t answer us but heads back upstairs to the VIP section instead. He starts chugging a bottle of vodka while Marcus and I just watch him waiting for an answer.

“Tell me beta who is she?” I demand. This waiting is ridiculous she's my mate and he's hiding information about her from me. I growl and Dallas looks up at me. He looks.... almost scared.

“That girl, she's no ordinary vampire. I heard stories about her. I didn’t believe it but witnessing it. I know it’s all true. My grandfather told me stories about her.” He rambles more and I grab Dallas by the collar choking him.

“Tell me who she is now!” I growl and Dallas shakes his head.

“She’s the vampire princess. Her dad is Zane Wilder and her mom is the infamous vampire hunter Swift. She's rumored to be half vampire and fae. I didn’t believe it but I saw her eyes glow gold.” He answers and I drop him.

I can’t believe it. My mate is the heir to the vampire throne. This is a huge issue when I'm supposed to help take down the werewolf king Alpha Dexter. Everyone knows he's friends with Zane Wilder, the vampire king. When the war happens I'll have to help take out the vampire kingdom also which is my mate's home and family.
