When Edith heard Carlos‘ threatening words, her heart skipped a beat. She suddenly remembered who she was shouting at. 

He was the head of the Lawson family, hundreds of times more powerful than her. How dare she refute him fearlessly just now? Did she want to die or not?

She looked expectantly at the hot toddy she had not finished yet on the coffee table. Susan was so good at cooking that she wanted to drink more. It would not taste good if it turned cold. 

Although temper mattered, it was not worth it to be angry. 

“How useless you are! Why are you still thinking about eating at a time like this?” 

“Eating is the most important thing for the people. How can you say that? Besides, You’re not the one who has been hungry for a whole day. I was poor, and you didn’t pay. Those waiters talked about me all day, and I had to pay the bill, which wiped out the only several hundred dollars left in my card. How dare you say that!” 

“Then what did you eat for dinner?” 

“I just drank the hot toddy before I had time.” 

“I’m hungry too,” said Carlos indifferently. 

Edith’s eyes lit up instantly. “So, Uncle, are you going to order the kitchen to prepare supper?” 

“You prepare the supper. Make it for two people.” 

“What?” Edith was shocked.
