Chapter 98 

When Johann saw the wound, he just couldn’t help trembling. 

He hurried forward and grabbed Edith’s arm. This time, no matter how hard she tried to refuse, Johann would never let her.

“Johann. I hate you!”

Johann was shocked and looked back at Vanessa. 

Vanessa was so flustered that she kept shaking her head. “No… It wasn’t my fault. It was her! She wanted to stay with uncle. Who knows if she hooked up with him?” 

“Edith’s been with me for so long. I know her better than anyone else. Vanessa, how could you do this to her?” 

“Johann… I… I was so wrong. But I didn’t mean to do that. I love you. I don’t know what to do but I…” 

Vanessa wanted Johann to pity her, but she failed and got pushed away by him. 

“Vanessa, you really disappoint me. How dare you?” 

Johann stared at her coldly. Then, he left, holding Edith’s hand. 

Edith, however, struggled to get rid of him. 

“Johann, let me go!”

“No way. You have to go to the hospital now. I was so wrong to let you go, but I’ll never since now.” 

Johann dragged Edith into his car without hesitation, and drove straight to the hospital. 

On the way, Johann hesitated for a long time before he asked, “Have you been…” 

Edith couldn’t help sneering. “What? Have I been raped?” 

“Edith, I didn’t expect Vanessa to do those things to you. I’m sorry. But no matter what happened, I’ll still love you.” 

Johann tried to explain. 

Edith found these words ridiculous. 

She said in a freezing tone, “Johann, what do you mean by saying that? You’ve been hesitating between Vanessa and me. You always said you loved me. But you want me to be mild and depend on you like Vanessa. You want me back to stay with you. You don’t like Vanessa when she was wayward to show her large ego. She’s not obedient and would do whatever she wants.” 

Johann, do you really love me? Or you love both of us? You just like the part beneficial to you, no matter it’s from me, or from Vanessa.” 

Edith found that now she had no choices but to face the truth. 

This was so Johann. Actually, he only loved himself. 

Johann was shocked by what Edith said and looked at her with miserable eyes. 

Edith was right. He thought that he was deeply in love with her, but he didn’t really know himself. 

Johann didn’t expect that Edith could know him even better than himself. 

He could gain an incredible sense of accomplishment from Vanessa. 

As for Edith, she was considerate, obedient, and gentle to him. If he was busy, she would never disturb him. Instead, she would cook delicious food, waiting for him to come back home. Edith never put pressure on him and always tolerated him. 

Johann thought, “So… I love Edith…and Vanessa?”
