Atropos paced the thread room, her heart thrumming wildly in her chest, her mouth dry, her palms sweaty.

She was a Goddess. She needed to snap out of this. She needed to get a grip. But the bombshell that Zeus had just dropped on her was Atomic.

“That’s what he said?” Lachesis asked again, “You’re sure?”

“Positive”

“But after everything Quinn has been through…doing this— doing this to her daughter just doesn’t make sense” Clotho breathed.

Atropos threw her hands up in the air. No shit! Of course it didn’t make any sense and she’d said just that to Zeus. But his decision was firm and that decision had been made a long time ago. The God of Gods had a plan and Claudia was the key.

“And you’re to facilitate this? How?”

Atropos shrugged at Lachesis’s question.

“I don’t know. I haven’t even told Quinn yet that her daughter is going to be a Goddess. I mean, how am I supposed to explain to her that instead of completing her first shift at the age of twenty, she’ll actually be ascending?”

“Somehow I think that is the least of your problems now. How are you going to explain to her Claudia’s new role in life…her new realm?”

“Her new mate?”

Atropos turned to Clotho and let out an exasperated sigh. Zeus had told Atropos that she’d pay for her mistake and now it seemed that time had come.

“There’s no way around it, no way to beat around the bush. Just tell Quinn. Be honest and open. Tell her the truth”

“No worries” Atropos snapped.

She cleared her throat, straightening her shoulders and stared down at her sisters as they also struggled to come to terms with this new information.

“Hey Quinn. So, just letting you know that Claudia, your daughter, is not a tribrid…she is actually a Goddess…or will be come her twentieth birthday. Oh! And she won’t just be any Goddess, no, Claudia is special. Claudia will be trained and groomed to control one of the most dark and soul sucking realms there is. But don’t worry! She won’t be doing it alone, she’ll be doing it alongside her fated mate” Atropos swallowed, her face paling as she opened her mouth to finish her speech, “Your daughter is to be the next ruler of Hell, side by side with her mate - Hades”
