“He won’t be living here. He has a huge ass castle he needs to live in.” I paused when I heard Zane growl. I held up my hand. “Did you forget what I said about his strength? I know you’re worried he will get hurt, but he will be okay and one of the other children will be going with him.”

“What?!” Summer yelled as she stood up and came around the desk.

Windy’s POV

I heard a commotion but I couldn’t go see what was going on, hell, I couldn’t move at all. A vision took hold of me, making my body shake and my eyes roll back. The vision didn’t make sense to me. It would take me some time to put the pieces together. But, I needed to see what was going on. I slowly sat up, making sure my head didn’t swim and I didn’t pass out, hitting my head on the floor. I’ve done it too many times. Thank the Goddess I was spelled to keep me from opening my head on the floor.

I got to my feet and quickly ran out the door. I didn’t see any trouble or reason for the sound I heard. I looked around and walked forward. All of a sudden I felt weird. My skin felt too tight. My scalp felt as if it was going to explode. My teeth felt weird and were sharper than normal. My eyes were going in and out of focus.

Well, shit!

Another vision?

I hit the ground and screamed when I felt as if my arm broke. Pain was all felt now. Pain in my head and body that was debilitating, causing me to scream even more. A pain I had never felt before. I could barely hear my grandma or my mom. I knew my dads were there too. I could smell their unique scent, something I had never been able to smell before.

Wait, what? I’m shifting? I don’t have a wolf, so how can I shift? I couldn’t figure out why I would feel this way if I wasn’t shifting. Maybe I finally had a wolf. I wasn’t sure but I was hoping I was getting a wolf, like all my brothers and sisters.

I screamed out again and finally collapsed to the ground - only the ground was closer to me than before. I looked down and saw I had paws - actual paws.

“What up, Windy?”

“Who are you?” I asked as I laid on my stomach to get my breath back.

“I’m your wolf Star. Nice to meet you. Now, get the hell up and let me stretch my legs,” Star scolded, helping me get up and walk around.

After a little bit of time, my grandmother pulled me to her. “Shift, Star,” she gently told me. I shook my head, no, not wanting anyone to see me naked. “You will shift with your clothes on. You’re a royal Betal. Just think of yourself-”

“my wolf told me,” I told her as she shifted back into my skin side.

I looked at my grandma and my parents, confused as to why I look different. “Uh, why am I so tall and look as if I had a growth spurt in thirty-minutes?” I looked down my shirt and lifted my face quickly. “I have breasts!” I yelled as my cheeks flushed pink from embarrassment. I couldn’t believe I yelled out what I did.

My grandma and parents laughed at me, but I didn’t care because I was a wolf now. Yay!!! I heard my mom and grandma talk about going to the office. I followed behind them as I talked to my wolf, Star.

As soon as we walked into the office I turned towards my grandma, my arms crossed, my head cocked to the side. “Someone needs to let me know what is going on.”

“Have a seat, Windy, you’re going to need it,” My grandma told me as I sat on the couch, my parents sitting next to me. “You are the royal Beta. You will go with Sonny to his castle with his mate. You’ve studied to become an Alpha or a Beta, correct?” She paused as I nodded my head. “Your wolf picked you as her human. My royal wolves pick their human, not me. You will be stronger than any other wolf except the royal Alpha. Plus, you will need to help him with the supernatural species. Star, your wolf, has been a Beta all her life. She’s learned how to be sneaky, how to get information no one else could. She will help you. And, your age is around twenty-four or twenty-five. How old do you think you are? Your wolf will let you know.”

I was quiet for a while as I listened to my crazy ass wolf. “Uh, Star, my wolf, told me I’m twenty-four-years old. I felt myself get light headed. “Oh, crap!” I yelled as I passed out.

I heard my mom yelling at grandma, but it feels as if I had cotton in my ears. I heard my wolf talk to my parents as she separated from me.

Wait, what?

I came out of my faint and looked around at everyone. “Well, okay then. I’m a royal, well, my wolf is. She explained why I was needed but I can’t tell you why. Grandma, Star said I could use my visions to help us, is this correct?”

My grandma nodded her head. “Your wolf is correct. No longer do you need to keep your precognition to yourself. They will be bad at first, but they will get better if you meditate daily, okay?”

I smiled. I was happy I wouldn’t have to suppress my visions now. “Yay! We can finally use our gift to help out!” I shouted out as I danced around the office. I watched as my mom’s head tilted back as she laughed at me, my two dads right behind her.

“Are you okay with this?” My dad asked me as I stopped dancing.

“I’m perfectly fine, Dad. I’m very happy to be an adult. I already felt as if I should have been older. But, I didn’t think I would grow up to the age my body thought it should be,” I answered with a big grin on my face. “Plus, I’m a wolf. I’ve always wanted one.”

“This is going to take a little bit of time for us to get used to your size and your age. We will support you with whatever endeavors you go through, okay?” My dad, Blaine, explained as he walked over to hug her.

I smiled at my family. “Woo-hoo, I’m an adult now!”

I straightened my shoulders, standing taller than before. I looked around at my family’s faces and knew they had heard what my wolf had told me.

My grandmother took me by the hand and whispered to me. “You will find your mate at the castle. But, make sure he’s your true mate. There are good and bad at the courts who wouldn’t mind being your mate. Your wolf will let you know who he is. Listen to her carefully. She will never steer you wrong. She may be sarcastic and uppity, but she’s a great wolf and Beta. You and Sonny need to leave in two days, so take the time to comfort your parents, brother’s and sisters, okay?”
