When I woke up everyone was asleep on either this couch or the one across from it, I sat up but couldn’t get up because Jax had his back on my legs while his legs where over the back of the couch and his head falling to the floor. I was right on top of Kye, my head was on his stomach and his head was on the arm rest. I whispered to myself “geez what exactly happened last night?” with that I looked over to the velvet red couch where Sam and Spek were laying on the couch like they had been kicking each other all night. I attempt to wiggle out of my position but Jax turns over and holds onto my legs while rubbing his face on my jeans. I couldn’t help but shriek at his actions and he lifts his head while blinking his eyes groggily. When our eyes meet my face gets really hot so I slip my legs out from under him and get up with an unsteady step. I gain my balance and get a instant headache and I mutter to myself “jesus what happened last night?” and at that moment I realize Spek and Sam were not wearing shirts and I avert my eyes to Kye but he doesn’t have a shirt on either and I start to look around my apartment and none of the guys have a shirt on! I accidentally shout “What the fuck happened last night?!” and everyone wakes up to my voice and the first one to respond is Kye, he attempted to cover his chest with his hands but falls off the couch in the process and kicking Jax in the face. Jax rights himself and smacks Kye in the leg while getting on his legs, I couldn’t help but laugh at those two. When I return my gaze to the red couch in front of the window Spek sits up and Sam just sets his leg on Spek’s lap and goes back to sleep. I was in a bad mood because of the pain in my head so I march over to the shirtless Sam and smack his stomach and he woke with a shriek and I just scream into his ear “wake up you lazy bone!” after the he sits up and says staring me in the face “if you wanted to touch my abs so bad you could have just asked me” I can’t fathom what he just said so I walk into the dinning toom to avoid everyone’s gaze. When I sit down I remember what happened last night, we started off by drinking some wine and apparently nobody does well with alcohol because when I fell onto the couch everyone started making jokes about me and Kye and somehow we wound up talking about contests we should do and in the end it was a “how ripped are you” contest and we all passed out after our third cup of wine. When I recalled all the stuff that went down I looked at myself and sighed out of great relief “oh thank god I have a shirt on”, after talking to myself I heard a knock at the door. I grabbed my head and went to the door, while standing in the entrance in between the living room and dining room I cracked the door to see Sebastian in his human form standing on the other side. I came to my senses as he started talking in a very polite gentleman’s voice “may I please come in Max?” I agree to it because I thought everyone had a shirt on by now but the only person with a shirt on was Kye. When Sebastian came in the room everyone had a gruesome look on their face so I tried to explain the situation but couldn’t think of the words. The room was silent until loud mouth Sam poked his head out from behind the couch saying “oh god not him, hey Max why’s he gotta be here?” and that’s when I saw him drinking some of the leftover wine. Sebastian looked at me then back at them a few times but didn’t say a word. I got awkward and started to walk away but am snatched by the waist and brought up to Sebastian’s face, without saying a word planted his lips on mine. My consciousness went hazy when he slipped his tongue into my mouth and I tried to pull away but he held me tight. I shut my eyes then pushed his chest with all my force and he let go with a huff and I fell to the ground, I just sat there not able to process what just happened. After I fell everyone was standing from where they use to be sitting, they looked like they were going to kill Sebastian, finally Jax spoke up “What the hell do you think your doing, coming in here, giving us dirty looks then kissing Max without her permission?” I could tell he was enraged and I shuddered at his cold voice. I just watched as they stared each other down, all of a sudden Jax grabbed Sebastian by the collar of his shirt and raised his fist. I got to my feet in a instant and blocked Sebastian with my own body so that he wouldn’t get hurt. Jax lowered his fist and Sebastian spoke up from behind me “I was just letting you know she is taken, is that so wrong?” while I heard him speaking he was lightly stroking my hair. Without thinking I moved away and grabbed Jax’s wrist pulling them away from each other but while I was stopping Jax the next thing I know Sam is jumping over the couch landing a punch on the side of Sebastian’s face. Next came Kye placing a kick right in Sebastian’s stomach but Sebastian didn’t flinch he just bent over a little then came Spek choking him from behind. It all happened in a flash but when I calmed my mind I rushed over and tried to pry Spek off of him, it did no good. When I backed up Sebastian raised his hand placing it on top of Spek’s and easily removed it, just then everyone backed away and I saw why. Sebastian was slowly removing his wings in the middle of the entry way but now there was something coming from behind me. Without thinking I jumped in the hallway and that’s when I saw a bunch of new wings in my apartment, all of a sudden everyone except Spek had wings. I saw a red, blue, grey and white pair of wings and I couldn’t stand it anymore so I ran out of the apartment leaving everyone behind in my apartment. I jumped from the small steps and some of my hair got caught on the door nob and my head got yanked back and some of my long black hair came out in the process, I quickly got up and started running again. I shot down the street running towards the main road in town, before I knew it I was at a very familiar office. I came to the first place I thought of and regretted it as soon as I walked in, I continued to the front desk anyway. I asked the lady if I could speak with Mark, the most logical person I know… or knew for that matter. She nodded and called the editorial department and told him that I was here and a couple different screams came from the phone like it was on speaker. I knew every single voice and it warmed my heart to hear all of them, it was Mark, Jack and drew. The lady quickly hung up the phone and told me to wait in the lounge so I did. Not long after I hear a stampede coming from the elevators then I saw them all running to the desk in a panic and they were all shouting random things. When I saw them falling over each other I couldn’t help but laugh at their faces, I walked out of the waiting room and shyly spoke up “Hey guys long time no see” they all turned their heads in sync like a bunch of dogs hearing a treat bag. Once they noticed it was me they ran up to me but the only one who hugged me was Mark, I started crying and hugged him back. Finally they all came in for a hug but quickly drew themselves away waiting for a explanation. I never told them why I left all of a sudden and without a word, they needed a answer and I had to give it to them. I finally had the courage to speak up and raised my head “I was assaulted by Pau-” I wasn’t able to finish my sentence because I was yanked by the arm and held in someone’s strong arms. I turned around to see Paul standing beside me and I screamed out of pure shock and pulled away from him with haste. Paul looked at me with a hurt expression but I didn’t care I just hid behind the three of them and they held their ground in front of me. I started to whisper the first thing that came to mind “him… please help me… I need help” all they did was stand there and block my vision with their shoulders. Paul spoke up first “i’m surprised you came back, is everything okay Max?” at that point I was grabbing onto the back of Marks army green shirt shaking. Mark replied with a stern voice “I need to leave for the day, I have finished all my work. please excuse me, I will call you two later so you better answer” then he looked at me with a gentle expression and offered me his hand. When we walked out of the office neither of us looked back, we went around the corner into the parking garage. Once we got to a red truck we stopped and Mark opened the passenger side door and led me in. I sat on the plush leather seat and waited for Mark to start driving, once he did I started speaking “I know I shouldn’t have come, it’s been about two years since I last spoke to you guys but I didn’t know what to say. I’m so sorry!” I started bawling and his long skinny fingers rubbed my back in comfort. Soon we pulled up to a park and we sat down at one of the benches, I explained how I had been couch jumping with some friends and that they all saved up for me to get my own apartment. I left out the part with the wings and robbery. We had been talking for about a hour and when i finished he started laughing and I couldn’t help but giggle with him. When he was finished laughing he looked at me with concerned eyes and said “this must have been hard, i’m sorry to hear you’ve had a hard time for so long. I am really glad you came to me though, I really missed you. Ya’know I considered you a sister even when you left. I still read your blog to be honest” he laughed a little and hugged me from the side. I looked up to the sky and closed my eyes, I was so relieved to hear his words. Mark joined me and looked up to the sky but he said something very unexpected “what a beautiful bird” when I opened my eyes there was a giant blue bird circling above the park. I was admiring the bird and it made the most pretty song, it sounded like a long melody each time it opened it’s dark beak. I looked over at Mark and it seemed like he was enjoying the sight, I decided to ask if he liked birds and he nodded. I was hesitant but I pulled out the whistle my bird sebastian had given me when he came back from a flight one day. I tapped on Marks shoulder and we both sat forward, I blew into the whistle and a light soft sound came out of it. I looked to Mark and spoke up “sometimes my pet bird responds to this whistle if I want him to come” he nodded and looked at the whistle. The whistle was black with some red metal laced into the cracks, I give him a smile and then a thud hits the bench. We both look at the large blue bird that perched itself on the bench and Mark gets a huge smile and reaches for the bird. I shout out by accident “No! That’s not my bird!” he quickly takes his hand back and that’s when a giant red bird appears looking similar to the blue one and I just cock my head at the bird. Mark asks me if that one is mine and I shake my head. I stand up and am pushed with a force on my shoulder and I puff a breath and look on my shoulder “that’s my bird!” Sebastian was perched on my shoulder and I give him a quick pat. Mark comes up to Sebastian and rubs his back gliding his fingers lightly across his feathers, next he looks at me and whispers “this is amazing” but I was worried about why there were so many giant birds around. Next thing I know a pure white bird accompanied by a dark purple bird fly down to the ground. At that point I am just puzzled, I look over to mark and he burst into laughter spitting out the words “your a freaking bird whisperer! Look at them! Their huge!” the birds start to come up to me and Sebastian starts to freak out. Sebastian starts gripping my shoulder a little too hard “ouch, Sebastian calm down!” Mark grabs my hand with a gentle hold and we start walking down the path towards the lake with all the birds behind us. After we sit by the lake a while I am finally calm down and tell him I will be okay to go home, he nods and offers me a ride. I give him the address and he knows exactly where it is and he laughs a little so I ask him what’s so funny. He keeps his eyes on the road and all he says is “you were pretty loud last night… neighbor” I hang my mouth at his words and the whole ride was silent from that point on. Mark pulled up in the neighboring driveway, we get out of the car and Sebastian climbs onto my arm and up to my shoulder. Me and Mark go our separate ways and I enter the apartment to find everything still in place, I let out a sigh and realize I haven’t even seen my bedroom. I shut the door behind me and head to the back of the hallway to find a tan colored room with a bed in the corner covered in a black comforter with grey sheets. I shriek with joy and see a large cage in the corner near my door, I run over to the cage and shake Sebastian into it saying “if you really are a bird you’ll stay there and not turn human! I will know I am not crazy! And and my friends! They aren’t demons! It’s just not possible” I lock the cage and put a zip tie around the door bars just to be sure. I flop down on my bed and lay there relaxing in peace and quiet for a couple of hours, then I am rudely interrupted by Sebastian attempting to get out of his cage. I rush over to the cage and scream at the top of my lungs “please just be quiet! I need time to be normal!” then he backs up to the far end of his cage like he was scared of me. I apologize and go to my living room, I make my way to the red couch and plop down. Before I know what’s hit me I fall asleep and have a dream about everyone from the office and the guys I know as family. We were all having a meal around my new table and chatting away happily, until a blinding light flashes in front of me and now I’m alone at the table now and I am eating with only Spek, Drew and Mark now. Just as I was about to say something I woke up to a pounding at my door, I look through the window towards the door and see Sam standing there with something in his hands. I sit on the couch debating if i should talk to him or not but my thoughts are interrupted by more pounding. I get up and go to the door but when I open it it isn’t just sam standing there, I slam the door and lock all my locks and process that I just saw. It wasn’t just Sam it was him, Jax, Kye, Drew, jack from the office and Paul, I start hyperventilating and sink to the floor in front of the door. When I attempt to look up there is a man with purple hair sitting on my couch and I scream so loud I lose my voice in the middle. The man has long lavender colored hair and piercing green eyes, he gets up and starts walking toward me. Just before he reaches me I heard a crashing sound come from my room. I decide to dart for my room and run right past the purple haired man, once i reach my room I fall to the floor and jump at the door shutting it while leaning against it. When I look over to Sebastian’s cage the human Sebastian is being crushed inside the cage and looking at me with pleading eyes, I scream at him “no! I don’t know what you are or why my parents had you but no!” after i was done he disappeared from the cage and reappeared sitting next to me “No! Fuck no! You can’t just do that!” I jump away and fall onto what I thought was my bed but now had red feathers covering it, at that point I gave up and just curled up into a ball with tears pouring out of my eyes. While I’m crying I hear a couple familiar voices talking in my room “you can’t just all show up out of nowhere and expect things to go well!” next a booming voice hit my ears “Well because of some people we couldn’t hide it! Maybe you want to explain that?!” I know that was Paul’s voice and I shuddered gripping onto the pile of feathers under me. When I tightened my grip I heard a small noise come from next to me like someone was in pain, I fearfully looked up and Sam wrapped his arms around me like a protective father. All I could do was lean into his chest and pray for them to stop arguing, while I was laying there another red wing wrapped itself around me. I could feel it’s warmth and I loosened my grip on the other wing and grabbed onto Sam’s shirt. After the room went quiet I shot up and went to my living room, the only thing I had brought with me was hidden under the white couch. When I left the room everyone followed me from a few feet away, they were fumbling over each other but once they reached the end of the hallway they saw me holding my longsword with both hands. I was pointing it directly at all of them and nobody moved a inch, I heard a poof come from behind me and I swung my sword with the most power I had ever used. Sam ducked in the nick of time and fell onto the couch, I backed up from the couch so that all of them were in my view and the door was on my back. I had blood shot eyes and was stressed beyond anything I had ever felt before, the first one to step up was Paul and he had white wings coming from his back. I took one step forward and swung at him none stop screaming “Go away you demon! I don’t want to ever see you again!” I just screamed over and over again swinging my sword with skill but he managed to doge every single time. Then it hit me, I need to change my movements! I pivited and swung my sword at his side but he blocked it with his arm “damn you just die!” and I dug my sword into his arm even further. Blood was gushing onto my floor from his arm and he jumped back and fell to the floor, the first thing I wanted to aim for were his wings and that’s exactly what I did. I lunged my sword into his wing but he moved it in time for it to only hit his lower feathers, tears were falling from my eyes onto his blood covered white wings. I quickly turned my eyes to Jack who was approaching me with sun bleached wings, I took my sword away from Paul and directed it to him now. Everyone else was starting to come closer and I started to feel trapped, I was being backed into the corner of my living room so I screamed Mark’s name with the rest of my energy and fell to the floor sword still in hand. They were all looking at each other puzzled but not backing down, the next thing I know my sword is a large stick from my yard. I just stare at the men and whisper “i can still do damage with a stick” and that’s when my stick poofed away into thin air and I was really freaked out at that point and I was desperate to get them out of my house so I put up an act.
