Chapter 27 ~ War Had Begun

Third Person’s POV ~

The President’s phone rang in the middle of the night. He was informed the two remaining oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico had mysteriously exploded, within minutes of each other.

He jumped up and ordered a meeting of his joint chiefs.. In that meeting, he discussed war with the supernaturals. The secretary of defense spoke “Mr. President, what is our motivation? The supernaturals have worked alongside us peacefully for over twenty years. We have many of them in our military.. stationed around the world. They have proven to be invaluable. They have never caused an issue.. have always been respectful and resourceful.”

Pogue raised his voice “I have evidence they attacked two oil rigs in the Gulf and destroyed them.” Homeland Security said “Those were slated for demolition six months ago, why would they destroy them? More importantly, why would they ‘attack’ them? They were abandoned. What are we unaware of?”

Pogue now realized he would have to tell them what he had authorized, and what had actually been happening. The Secretary of Defense uttered “So, everything King Draco has been releasing to the press wasn’t to incite violence like we have been told.. our government has betrayed them. Mr. President.. I am resigning my commission. Effective immediately. I can not, in good conscience, order our military into battle.. It would be a suicide mission.” With that, he walked out. Roy jumped up.. saying he will locate them.. since he was still hacked into the Adjutant General’s personal files.

At that moment, the roar of F-16s filled the air.. and the whistle of bombs being deployed could be heard. The witches who had arrived last night stood outside, chanting. The bombs detonated over the land.. and glitter floated to the ground.
