Hero Dyes - Blue
Saved By A Knight

Yohan: “Did you have sex with my son?” I asked which brought out the most vile yell I’ve heard Bridget produce.

“For the last damn time, NO!” She glared as she seemed to be holding herself back from attacking me. Just like the last four times I asked her, I still didn’t believe her. I only sighed and shook my head as I stared at my son. His current condition was worrisome. To back track a bit, I approached Bridget’s chamber unannounced. It was the morning and there wasn’t a guard in sight as I made my way to her room. I heard her grunting, which made me think that my son was having a good time with her. As I listened they were grunts of struggle so I rushed in. She was fighting off another puppet, like the ones that appeared last night. Her hand to hand combat was very impressive. However, there wasn’t much strength behind her attacks. I ended up using a bit of magic to help her out. Her clothes were a bit torn, meaning she struggled more than she needed to with this puppet. I soon realized why. My son had a mask on him. I asked her what happened and she explained that she got up to dress herself in the other room when she heard the puppet climb through the window and leap onto the bed. It placed a mask on Yosin instead of her, was what I gathered. This brings me to my current dilemma as we just stood there, staring at my son, trying to figure out how to remove it.

“I still don’t understand. If he can’t die, then can’t we just take it off?” She asked, to which I growled with irritation.

“As I said before, the mask itself is coated with magic. If we pull it off, he will still be enthralled to whoever is controlling the mask.”

“Which would be Count Masque.” She finished for me, which made me smirk a bit. Finally, she paid attention to something. We both sighed as she tapped her foot. I assumed this helped her thinking process because it wasn’t helping mine.

“Damn it boy! Why did you have to take another arrow for her!” I shouted with frustration. She grunted at me and glared as she knew what I was talking about.

“This was your fault, old man. I heard you tell him to stay with me.”

“Ha! As if you weren’t going to wear him out with your gratitude of sex!” This must have really pinched a nerve for her. She swung her fist straight at me with all her might. However, she ended up stumbling back as my barrier deflected the attack. She stomped her foot in anger as she realized what happened. She was stupid enough to try it again. This time, to my surprise, she got within inches away from face. The only thing stopping her attack was an armored hand that caught her punch. I looked to my right to see who interrupted our little ‘sparring’ session.

“Now, now, little sis. I’ve taught you better than that. Respect your elders, even if I never do.” The knight released her hand as I tried to remember who this man was. I’ve seen him several times during our excurses before we raided Magnus’s castle. His blonde med-length hair that almost covers his right eye. He barely did a thing. What was this lazy knight’s name again?

“Calad! Oh Calad, how are you!” She shouted with glee as she hugged him tightly. He didn’t return the hug yet he smiled lightly. That always seems to be his expression. Not a full smile, just enough to present himself as friendly.

“Hey! I told you not to address me like that!” She added, to which he simply shrugged as patted her on the head.

“You might not be my blood sister, but I raised you since you enlisted in the army. Therefore, that makes you my little sis. Got it?” He told her, to which she just huffed and crossed her arms, agreeing to his words I believe. I cleared my throat to prepare for an introduction, but was cut off as he spoke instead.

“Golden Sage Yohan. I know who you are, I just didn’t care enough to hear you tell me yourself. Had my little sis not shouted my name, I never would have introduced it to you.” This smug and arrogant piece of work. How dare he blow me off like that. The nerve this man had. What was he doing here anyways?

“Right… What brings you to her chambers at this hour? We are currently dealing with a serious matter at the moment.” I informed him, to which he noticed my son with the mask on his face. Seeing this didn’t bother him, nor did he display any type of discomfort or bewilderment.

“Little sis… Did you have sex with this man?”

“Ahhhh!!” Bridget screamed and attempted to fight the knight. He simply reached his hand out and held her in place, holding her head so she couldn’t move. She still flailed frantically in an attempt to hit him, which was slightly comical.

“Are you done?” He asked her, still keeping his eyes fixed on my son. She huffed out of breath and managed to move his arm away from her.

“So, was that a yes?” He asked her. She sighed with great annoyance and crossed her arms.

“I tried, but he didn’t want to. So no, cuddling is as far as we went.” My left eye twitched for a moment. She tried it? She attempted to seduce my son and he didn’t buy into it? I had such mixed emotions upon hearing this. I’m proud of my son for not giving in, but at the same time, how could you not! They were both bare naked in the bed, as far as her explanation went on why my son didn’t have any of his clothes on. As much as she annoys me, her figure isn’t something to sneeze at. She is very fit and slim, yet curvy in all the right places. Yes, I will admit it, I’m an old perverted hermit after all. I have no shame in this.

“I see… So what is his deal? Why hasn’t he attacked you yet? Clearly that is one of Count Masque’s soul masks.” My eyebrows raised as his words impressed me.

“How would you know such a thing?” He turned to me for a moment as I asked this, then smiled a bit more as he explained.

“All this morning Lord Ulrik has been dealing with complaints and cases such as this. Apparently some of them started last night. It seems like the cases are growing in numbers due to this crisis.”

“Count Masque is trying to take over this land.” I added, to which Calad just shrugged as if he didn’t care one bit.

“Either way, I was sent here to fetch you, old man. When I found several puppets in your room I killed them. Then, I followed the scent of old people here.” Bridget lightly giggled but quickly halted herself as she saw the fires of anger rising within me. His joke was not funny, not in the slightest. I take it he gains pleasure from insulting others. Either that, or he has something against me for some reason.

“Lord Ulrik requests your aid with these cases before you go gallivanting across the land to take down the other tyrants.”

“Not going to happen.” I quickly spat out, which didn’t seem to bother him in the slightest.

“Very well, I’ll make my report to Lord Ulrik. He’ll be most displeased. Oh well.” S~ᴇaʀᴄh the FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Wait!” Bridget nearly shouted. She gave me a weird look, as if trying to ask what the hell was I doing refusing Ulriks request for help.

“What he means is, he’ll help you after we save his son from this mask ordeal. Then we’ll aid Lord Ulrik, but only for a little while. Our quest is also of great importance.” I glared at her as she finished speaking. After a moment of both of them staring me down, I huffed and nodded my head to confirm this.

“Great… Now that we have established that, why don’t you just take off the mask.” Calad commented as he walked towards my son.

“NO!!” Me and Bridget yelled together. This only slowed the knight down as he gave us a smile and proceeded to the bed.

“Hey! You have no idea what you’re doing! I said-”

“Stop, Golden Sage!” Two voices echoed in my mind. It was the same voices that threatened Bridget after she defeated Magnus. Why would the Fire Geminis tell me to stop? My eyes widened as I realized Calad had stopped too. It was like he heard them speaking as well.

“Are you going to disobey the Fire Geminis and stop me?” He asked, which baffled me greatly. I stood there with such confliction. I took a step back as Calad proceeded towards my son. He reached the bed and slowly grabbed the mask. It glowed red for a moment before he pulled it off. I could sense and see all of the magic within the mask had depleted. It was like the magic casted upon it was erased.

“See, nothing to worry about.”

“Magic breaker!!!” My son shouted as he woke up suddenly. He was breathing heavily as he looked around. I rushed to his side as Calad moved out of the way. Bridget joined me as Yosin slowly moved his legs to the edge of the bed.

“What happened? Did you get my message? I was trying to reach you once I figured out I was stuck in a nightmare loop. I managed to get you to say that you loved my mother which meant I was getting close to breaking the spell on the mask but-”

“Son!” I finally yelled to shut him up. He looked at me confused as I stared into his eyes.

“Are you alright?” I asked, to which he slowly nodded as I gave him a hug. He embraced me back with confusion, as I felt the timidness within his hug.

“Are you okay?” He asked as he pulled away from me. I smiled and nodded my head yes.

“Yosin, can you please tell these gentleman that we didn’t have sex last night, or this morning.” Bridget ruined our tender moment as he raised his eyebrow in confusion.

“Um… We didn’t?” He replied with a questioning look. She grunted with annoyance as she rolled her eyes.

“Hmm… Must not have been memorable.” Calad commented, which set her off as she roared and tried to attack him again. He managed to catch her mid lunge and draped her over his shoulder as she swore and thrashed about.

“If we’re done here, Lord Ulrik is waiting for you.” He tells us while Bridget still kicked and screamed. Luckily he was close enough for me to hear him.

“Right, lead the way then.” I replied. With that said he took point as we followed him out of the room. I couldn’t help but stare at this knight in awe. He can hear the Fire Geminis, and he repels magic. Even dark magic! Who was this man that is gifted with such amazing abilities?

“Father, who is that knight?” My son asked, which made me smile since I was just thinking the same thing. I shrugged with a curious smirk.

“I don’t know my son. Honestly, I do not know. Whoever he is, he saved your life. The one thing I can tell you is his name… It is Calad.”
