Heroes Without A Plan
Chapter Five: Every Hero Needs A Name

The days that followed were nothing short of cinematic for the new triad. They practiced for hours and soon surrendered to their new reality. Alyssa’s disbelief slowly dissipated and she learned how to use the bow. Mike had no problems with the sword. But it was Eliot who ran into trouble. Magic was harder to tame than a sword, and despite Agatha’s books, he still couldn’t master the spells.

Mike had volunteered to cook, since Agatha obviously wasn’t great.

“Wow! This is great, Mike!” Eliot complimented after taking a bite of the fried fish in front of him.

“Don’t need to rub it in...” Agatha whined.

As the room sat quietly eating, Agatha raised a thought that made even Mike cringe.

“You should make heroic names!” She half-yelled into the room. They all looked at Agatha, who grinned from ear to ear like a child. “Heroes are always cooler with a name!”

“There’s no need for it.” Alyssa bluntly dismissed her idea through a mouthful of food.

“How rude!”

Looking particularly proud of himself, Eliot boldly continued the conversation by suggesting a name for the rogue: Steelbow. Mike and Agatha burst out giggling.

“WHA...? That’s stupid!” Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Alyssa was somewhat flustered by the name, but eventually laughed it off.

“And you, Mike? Got a good name?” Agatha asked. Mike laughed before he could finish thinking, clearly too awkward to finish, but with Eliot urging him on, he finally came up with a name: Truesword. And with a little more back and forth among the trio, Eliot soon had a name as well: Proudflame.

Agatha could not be more ecstatic that her years of waiting for the heroes, by whatever name they called themselves, had finally come to pass. Now they would save Solia.
