(No POV)

"She's dead." The men all look at each other.

"Well who killed her?" One man asks.

Another groans and nearly hits him over the head. "Who do you think? Alpha Tate obviously, because that dumb girl couldn't take control of her mate!"

Another man cuts it, "we have to go back to the original plan."

Evangeline's father walks forward, grabbing everyone's attention. "You say that Alpha Tate killed her, but I'm worried that it was not him." Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

They scoff, "well who was it then?"

"My Daughter, the Luna."

There is a short pause before the men realize he is being serious. "You've got to be kidding me, the Luna? Please don't tell me you're that much of an idiot."

"I'm telling you, she's dark and she changes, I have seen it will my own eyes!"

**Evangeline**

"Are you hungry?" I pick up my little Caroline and take her into the kitchen with me. Henry and Sebastian stand facing each other and it seems the moment I step in their conversation stops. "Don't mind us, we're just getting breakfast."

They say nothing in return until Henry sits down beside me at the table. "You killed her?"

I take a deep breath and turn to him, "I did." He clenches his jaw and before he can speak I take over. "She was trying to take over the pack-"

"Don't make such assumptions, we don't know what she wanted because before we could try and ask her, you killed her." Sebastian joins in.

"You said I could!"

"Forgive me for thinking you would make the right decision on your own!"

I look away and hold Caroline close to my chest. "I couldn't control myself, I had to."

Henry stands up from his chair and looks down on me. "You didn't have to, you didn't have to kill my mate and your friends sister. How can you be so selfish?"

"She wanted you to kill your brother!"

"That doesn't mean I wasn't attached to her, she was my mate, and now she's gone. Do you not understand that you've ruined my one chance at a relationship!"

I cover Carolines ears, not wanting the shouting to hurt her. "How could you love a monster?"

"Well the two of you seem to love each other perfectly fine." He flees the kitchen, leaving Sebastian and I to stare at each other. Did Henry just call us monsters? Quickly I hand Caroline to Sebastian before attempting to catch up with Henry, and when I do I grab his arm. He turns with a glare on his face, "what do you want Evangeline!"

"I did it for us, I did it so we could be safe." I gaze into his eyes, searching for any type of understanding.

"No," he mutters, "you killed her because you're blood hungry." With that he yanks his arm out of my grasp and leaves the pack house, leaving me to stand alone in the living room.

"I told you, I told you that you would regret it."

I glance behind me to see Sebastian with Caroline laying in his arms. "I'll ask the moon goddess to give him another mate, she did it for Kandy."

"Give him time to grieve."

I slowly nod. "Do you think I'm a monster?"

"No, I just think you're lost."

Lost? I feel as if I'm trapped in a pit of darkness with no possible sign of light. The only good in my life is my Caroline, and I will let nothing harmful near her, she is my everything. There are no words to describe my love for her, and the attachment connecting our hearts is unbreakable. I watch her as she lays peacefully with her eyes closed in the comfort of her fathers arms.

I will kill Kandy over and over as long as she stays away from my child and her father. I could not imagine Caroline growing up with out Sebastian, or even myself moving on in life if we ever lost him. He may be disappointed in me now, but I will still protect our family with my life. "I may be lost, but nothing will change the amount of care I feel for our family. Anyone that tries to hurt my baby will end up with their head on a stake."

He glances down at Caroline, watching her adoringly. "Do you not think that I feel the same? But you cannot keep running off on a killing rampage. You have to calm yourself and take control of those thoughts. Caroline can't grow up believing that her parents are killers, we have to do this for her."

I nod my head and say, "you're right, Caroline can't think that acting this way is okay. She can't end up like us."

"So won't, as long as you keep it under control."

Later in the day I find myself wondering over to Fiona's house. I know she's most likely heard about her sister, but she hasn't come and yelled at me like Henry. I knock on the door and wait, and after about a minute I knock again, but there is no sounds of footsteps or any noises at all. After deciding to leave I make my way back to the pack house, walking in unwanted silence. She must not be home, or she's ignoring me and hating my guts, watching from a window as I waited like an idiot.

Instead of going straight back to the pack house, I walk into the trees, far enough so no one can see me. "We need to talk," I say out loud into the empty air.

I place my hands on my hips. "We need to talk now."

"You've changed."

I turn around to see her standing behind me, nervous. "Never mind that, I need you to give Henry another mate."

She waits a moment before speaking again. "No, I will not, not until you change your habit."

"My habit? It's not a habit."

"You have to stop Evangeline, you've hurt too many people as a result of your anger."

I groan, "I know, if you actually spoke to me more often like you used to, you would know that. Now I need Henry to find his new mate, he's depressed and upset at me."

"Love cannot cure all problems." She tells me wisely.

"I know, I know, just please help me, I messed up with him. He called me a monster."

"Maybe because you have become one."

I glare at her. "I'm sorry, maybe everything that has happened in my life has finally ruined me. God forbid I act up every now and then."

"Killing people like a starving bear is not acting up, it is called being merciless, ruthless, and cold hearted." She backs away, as if she's making the move to leave.

"Are you giving him another chance!" I shout and she stops in her footsteps.

"I think it is time that you fix your own problem, maybe one day I'll gift him another mate since you brutally ripped his first apart. For now go home, it is not safe out here."

Her last words catch my attention. "Why isn't it safe, I'm on pack lands?"

"I'll tell you this," she says without looking at my face, "Kandy was not your only enemy. I am a goddess, I cannot tell you the answers to life or death situations, but I'm warning you."

"Life or death- What are you talking about? Who's in danger? Sebastian?" I frantically ask but she quickly fades away with all hope of answers. "Wait! You can't leave me! If someone dies I swear to god!"

I breath heavily while searching the trees with my eyes. Every sudden snap of a twig and chirp of a bird causes my heart to stop. How can she leave me with such little information? She might as well kiss me goodbye because if she left me out here to die then that's it, I'm going to die.

I jump at the rustle of a near bush before swiftly heading out of the trees. I have to warn Sebastian so maybe he can send a group of guards to search and run the borders.

It is not safe, anywhere, but because of who?
