“Perfect!” Lisa muttered with a smile on her face as she checked herself out in the mirror, impressed by her reflection. It was a beautiful day for as she was going to hang out with Nick after she seek permission from her brother

“Is this too revealing?” Even though her stomach wasn’t showing as the shirt was almost tucked inside her trouser, it still felt a little uncomfortable.

“Maybe I should change,” Without giving it a second thought, she hurriedly changed into a short black shiny gown and a pair of black sneakers to match it. She combed her hair down her shoulders.

“This looks more mature and beautiful,” Her face beamed with smiles as she checked herself out in the mirror. Once she was done admiring herself, she picked up the black bag she had left on the bed, and with one more glance at herself in the mirror, she finally walked out of the room,

Her attention was drawn to Phoebe who was walking in the opposite direction as she strolled down the walkway minutes later, so she called her

attention.

“How do I look, Phoebe? Don’t say this to make me feel good. Be honest and brutal with your review,” It was the second time she was going to meet up with Nick after the other day, so she could not afford to look bad.

“You look gorgeous, Ms,” That was all she needed to assure herself that she really looked good, and after she muttered a “thank you” to Phoebe, she finally walked away.

“Um sorry for keeping you waiting. I was taking care of something inside,” The sight of her prince charming who was already waiting beside the car in the parking lot brought a smile to her face, and her heart raced.

“It’s fine. Let’s go,” Though Nick always acted tough to her, she could only care less about his attitude.

“You are not going to say something about how I look?” She pouted her lips as she tucked her hair behind her ear flirtatiously. This was crazy of her, but sadly, she could not stop herself from being like this around him.

“Ugh! You are so annoying. Just call me Lisa. I’m not your boss,” She rolled her eyes and finally hopped inside the car since he had been holding the car door open for her.

“Where do you want us to go, Ms?” Nick fastened his seatbelt without sparing her a glance.

“I told you to call me Lisa,” She rolled her eyes and sighed.

“I will forgive you. Anyway, I don’t know. Just take me to anywhere fun,” She shrugged, and he sighed.

“I’m sorry, but you would have to pick a place. I don’t know anywhere,” Nick felt uncomfortable with the way she was all over him. She was his boss’s sister for crying out loud, so what was she up to?

“Don’t you go out at all? Ugh! You are so boring.” She groaned, rubbing her forehead gently.

“Fine! Just take me to a restaurant, beach, cingma, park. Just anywhere,” She shrugged.

Chapter 71

“I’m sorry, but I don’t have that much time, Ms,”

Lisa was forced to look at him unbelievably, but she was even amazed by how confident he looked. If he was doing this to make her lose interest, then it was definitely not working

“Fine! Let’s just go where we can talk. I think a restaurant is fine,” She breathed out, resting frustratingly on the car seat.

“Do you have anywhere in mind?”

“I don’t have anywhere in mind. Just drive!” Lisa whisper-yelled between gritted teeth, and looked out of the window.

“Your seatbelt, please,

The ride began after she fastened her seatbelt.

They soon arrived at the restaurant, and Lisa alighted from the car before he could go to open the door for her.

“You don’t have to open the door for me always. You can always do that later when we start our relationship,” She winked at him then took the lead while he trailed behind her awkwardly,

“I heard they have nice meals here. Their pasta here is the best. Want to try it?” She rambled on once they stepped into the restaurant which had just a

few customers.

“Let’s sit over there,” She held his hand and dragged him to the comer of the restaurant where they had their seats.

“You have not answered my question. Do you want to try their pasta?” She looked at him with a smile on her face.

“I’m not hungry, Ms,” Nick’s reply came out brief and simple yet again. This was frustrating for Lisa, but that didn’t matter anyway.

“Oh… Not that I’m hungry either. We can just order ice cream then,” She didn’t wait for his approval before she called the waiter’s attention, and in a couple of seconds, a young lady in her twenties walked up to them with the menu book.

“Thank you. We’ll just go for ice cream and cupcake…” She paused, then looked at Nick and smiled.

“Their cupcake here is good also. Do you want to try some?” She blinked her eyes cutely.

“I’m not-

“Two servings, please,” She turned to the waitress without waiting to hear Nick’s reply.

“I was going to say I’m not–”

“I’m sorry, but I don’t usually take no for an answer. You won’t blame me for that, right? Her face beamed with smiles as her eyes gazed at Nick with admiration.

“Oh,” Nick muttered as he slowly nodded. It was awkward being around this weird young lady, but what was more awkward was her gaze being all over

him

“So, why don’t we talk while waiting for our order, hmm?” She cupped her cheeks in her palms as she leaned forward.

“I don’t have anything to talk about,” Nick turned his face away awkwardly, and she chuckled.

“But I do have something to talk about,” Her reply drew his attention back to her.

“Your reply wasn’t clear enough last time, so I wanted to ask you again… Do you have a girlfriend?” Her eyes pierced into his as though the answer to her question was written in them.

“Huh?” He blinked his eyes, taken aback by the question. It was so awkward the last time she asked him that as the question was so sudden and personal. No one has asked him that in a while, so it felt weird being asked that out of the blue moon.

“No, I don’1” He blurted out before he could hold himself back

“Really?” Her face brightened with smiles even more, and her heart lit up in excitement.

“Why do you ask though?”

“Isn’t it obvious enough? Because I’m interested in you,” Nick almost choked on his spit when she spoke up.

“I wanted to be sure you don’t have someone in your life. Not that it was going to stop me if you had a girlfriend, anyway,” She shrugged nonchalantly like what she said wasn’t a big deal

Nick could not tear his gaze from her as her words kept replaying in his head. He could not remember the last time he was in a relationship after he broke up with his ex-girlfriend and had since focused on work. Of course, it wasn’t the first time a woman was going to have a crush on him, but her confession gave him this chills for some reason he could not decipher.

“Why are you staring at me like that?” She chuckled briefly, and he quickly turned his face away.

“Uhm… Do you always like joking around like this?” Nick’s heart raced in his chest as he spoke nervously, and she pulled a puzzled look.

“Do I look like I’m joking? Oops! I thought I looked serious enough. Anyway, will you be my boyfriend?”

Nick’s jaw dropped to the ground, stunned by her confidence.

“Uhm….” Words failed him when he opened his mouth to talk, so he just reclined on the chair wordlessly.

“What? Aren’t you going to say anything? It’s fine if you are not ready to reply me now.

This was the most epic confession he had even seen in his whole years of existence.

Although he was not ready for this, but he was starting to reconsider this. The love was not there yet, but he didn’t see himself saying no to her.

“What if I say yet?”

Lisa’s mouth dropped open in shock as his eyes gazed into hers. Wow! That was easier than she thought…..
