Melody did not understand why, but she unlocked her phone anyway under that domineering gaze of his.
Maverick took the phone after she unlocked it.
His long, slender fingers were pressing on something on her phone. After that, he locked the phone and threw it back to her with a grin on lus face.
Melody wanted to look at what he did to her phone, but he voiced it out before she could do so. “I saved my personal contact number on your phone, so call me if you need anything.”
After that, Maverick stood up and tidied the creases on his clothes.
“I’m leaving, so behave yourself, okay?” he said in a gentle tone as if they were a couple that had been married for a long.

Melody was just stunned as she nodded, and Maverick could not help but plant a kiss on her forehead before saying, “Wait

He then left, feeling relieved.
Melody only returned to her senses when he left the room. “Why was I so obedient just now?” she thought.
However, she did not have a choice but to be obedient since she was currently living under his roof.
Melody went to the second floor and observed the surroundings. Indeed, as Maverick had said, there were many men in black suits standing guard outside the mansion.
As for the electric fence, she was sure that he did not say that to scare her. There really were electric fences present.
Excluding the fact that Melody was pregnant, even if she were not, she still would not be able to get out of there.
She had no choice then but to stay there obediently for half a month.
Melody grabbed her phone when she thought of that and dialed the most recent number she had called, which was Steven’s.
The latter must have been busy since the phone rang for quite a while with no one picking it up. She did not get any replies in the end.
Melody could only play with her phone, thinking that Steven would surely call her back if he saw a missed call from her.
However, her phone did not ring after a long time. So, she decided to play some games on her phone, but she discarded that thought when she saw the battery percentage that remained.
A while later, Steven finally called, and she picked it up.
“Hello, Dr. Yates.”
“Mel, is something wrong? I was busy just now.” Steven’s voice could be heard over the phone. He sounded tired.
Melody immediately felt bad when she heard that and started apologizing.
“I’m so sorry to disturb you when you’re so busy.”
Steven did not mind at all as he replied kindly, “It’s all right. It’s just some hospital matters. Is there anything I can help you
with?”
Melody only asked what she wanted to ask when he said that.
“Oh, I’ll be in Ayenport in the next half a month, so please keep an eye on my mother. Please call me if there’s anything wrong as well/

After she hung up, she then thought of how she planned on blocking Joshua.
Melody opened her Facebook, clicked on their most recent chats, and without hesitation, she blocked him.
After doing that, she opened her contacts and searched for his initials before deleting his number.
With the deletion, Melody also noticed someone named “Darling” in her contact, which rendered her speechless.

Confused, she thought as she furrowed her brows, “Since when did I save a number like this?”
She was prepared to delete it until something flashed through her mind.
“This is my private contact number.”
A man’s voice suddenly echoed in her mind.
“Don’t tell me that this number belongs to that domineering man?” she thought again.
With that, Melody checked her address book. She noticed that she had saved the other numbers herself, but not that one, which meant that Maverick was the one who had saved it.
“Is this man delusional that he thinks we’re married?” she pondered gloomily.
Melody clicked edit and deleted the word “Darling”
“Hmm… What name should I put, though…? Oh! I got it!”
