Chapter 2: Deja Vu

We raced up the stairs to find Camilla and Ernie, sliding down the banisters again but this time she had tried to jump off the banister, onto a rope that was hanging from the coat rack and had missed and slid into the couch, thankfully. I told them, " how many times have I told you not to slide down the banisters and Isabella said," relax honey, ill have them altered on Monday" and I said okay" and went off to my office to finish the accounting work I had gotten behind on. I  worked on the numbers for me and Isabella's company until the led lights in my office began to turn red and the t.v. screen read: emergency Alert, incoming message please state name and command code. I  Said, "Frankie Enrique bowman...access message; authorization sierra-178 alpha".the computer said access granted, showed the message and to my surprise, it was from the resistance leader; Harvey telling me to be on high alert as the other children reported strange men in the same black suits as ten years ago; following them and asking strange questions so they were relocating.

Isabella came rushing in my office and asked did I receive a message from Harvey and I said"yes "and she immediately locked the door and drew the shades and said to me "should we tell them?, do you think we should move to the safe house ?" and I said "no, not yet, but if they see those guys or I see the guys, then we will, but for right now our best bet is to meet up with Harvey and take care of these chumps" and Isabella said," we have no choice...I don't want the kids to be mixed up in this mess" and I said, "agreed, but we'll leave a day after Ernie's party". After talking with Harvey over a secure channel, me and Isabella went back upstairs to talk to the kids.the kids were up in their playroom drawing when we walked in and told them that we would be leaving on a business trip in 2 days and that their grandma Susie would be watching them and that they are allowed to leave the house to see friends only and surprisingly, they welcomed the thought of us being gone for a few days.

Two days later, Ernie woke me and Isabella up bright and early so we could take him to his birthday breakfast at IHop and after his breakfast, we drove him to see a movie while grandma Susie and the rest of the family got everything set up for his surprise party. When arrived home, friends and family surprised Ernie and sang happy birthday as he blew out his 6 candles and then ran off to hang with his best friends friend; Jeremy and Ben. Ernie didn't open his presents until later and after that, he was knocked out as me and Isabella cleaned up after the party and got grandma situated. Later that night I smiled as Isabella and said"were such amazing parents and Isabella said "I know, I can hardly believe we used to be best friends before all this" and I said "I know, but all it did was prepare us for this and I could never have imagined life with you would be just like the old days, only better" and Isabella said"after we take care of this threat, I'm thinking about moving back to our old neighborhood" and I said," I'm all in for that". Isabella smiled and kissed me as we made love before drifting off to sleep.

We got up early in the morning and went down to my office and accessed the secret weapons vault and then headed to the garage and quietly got into the old jeep that we altered to look normal. We drove down the street out of sight before activating the car's rockets and setting a course for the resistance base in Michigan. We were back in our armored car just like 10 years ago; on our way to clean up the mess Dr. Gearing left.

[Camilla's pov] I woke up early and headed downstairs to see if mom and dad had already left and to my surprise I was right; they were gone and grandma was still sleeping so I decided to use moms phone to call my best friend Amanda. We talked for about 30 minutes about the latest rumors and cute boys and then I hung up and snuck out of mom's office just as Ernie and grandma were waking up and went back to my room before grandma arrived and asked what did I want for breakfast. I told her that I would love her famous chocolate chip pancakes and for once Ernie agreed with me and grandma smiled at us and said "coming right up", I loved grandma, she always knew how to bend our parent's rules even more than usual, without getting caught; such as letting us eat more junk food and allowing us to have friends over and stay up late. After serving us breakfast, grandma told us to go have fun for the day as long as it wasn't dangerous; she let us play music loud and I even invited Amanda, Tammy, and Megan over so we could talk about things our parents didn't need to know which was mainly school. When we got up to my room, they began giggling and I asked them what was so funny and Megan finally looked at me and said"um you know Jamie?" and I said yes" and Amanda said" well there's a rumor that he likes you" and I said you're lying, he acts like such a nerd" and Tammy said," good news is "Jason supposedly likes you too and he's one of the cutest boys ever" and I said "perfect, I'll see if he does, well be so cute together" and Megan, Tammy, and Amanda, all agreed.Amanda said who wouldn't like a pretty, brown, haired Hispanic girl like you, plus your 1 of the ten prettiest girls in the 4th grade and I said, "you're right".

After me and the girls had a tea party and played dress up, they went home and I spent the rest of the day picking out an outfit to impress Jason tomorrow. I went to sleep that night, confident I would have Jason head over heels in love with me after he saw me tomorrow and unbeknownst to anyone... not even my best friends is that I secretly liked Jason.
