Chapter 3: Blast from the Past

Frankie's pov] We arrived at the resistance base early yesterday morning and had spent half of the day waiting for Harvey and the other members to get back from their scouting mission. When they got back, the news they brought wasn't good; Harvey told us that Dr. Gearing's son who worked in the facility as an unlabeled intern and had escaped and spent the last decade continuing his father's experiments in hiding. Rumor has it that he's plotting revenge on us all for the death of his father and the loss of his job and that he's was working from an abandoned but highly fortified taco factory out in death valley, California. Harvey told us we would be attacking and destroying the facility and everything left of the research and that it was a simple mission and we'd be back in a week at the most. We spent this morning going over the plan.

[ Camilla's pov]  I woke up an hour early to curl and flat iron my hair and perfect my outfit. After grandma dropped me and Ernie off at school, I went to look for Jason while sorting through all these boys and even girls staring at me as if I were a supermodel. When I found Jason he was talking to this girl bailey and when I tapped him and he turned to look at me, his eyes got wide and I said "I need to ask you something "and Jason said "yes" in a mushy voice and I said "I heard you liked me and I wanna know is that true?" and Jason froze for a minute and then said "yes "and before I could say anything, he said "meet me at recess" and then walked off. Later on, at lunch, I sat with Amanda and I told her what Jason said and she grinned and said "ooh sounds like someone's gonna get kissed" and I blushed and said "n-no that's not going to happen" but deep down I hoped it would.

when recess came, I went to meet up with Jason but instead of meeting out in the open, we met behind a tree and he gave me a note and blew me a kiss and told me not to tell anyone about it and when I opened the note it said: meet me at the park after school for a special surprise. After Jason left, Jamie came up to me all nervous and said "h-hi Camilla, I know you like Jason b-but I wanted to say I care about you and maybe we can be friends" and I said "sounds good, but um I have to go" and before I left, he slipped me a note with his number on it. After school, I walked to the park unaware that these men in black suits were following me. When I arrived, Jason was standing with a group of mysterious men, which made me uncomfortable and I asked who they were and he said they were his dad's security detail and I said oh and I told him I had to go home before my parents suspected anything. The next few days me and Jason hung out while these men "guarded us" but I was too in love to be suspicious.

[Frankie's pov] After a few days of planning and mission training the day came to raid the facility today's date read: September 11th,2036, the 35th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the world trade center; and whilst everyone was busy commemorating the loss of life, me and Isabella were headed to stop a terrorist plot to kill thousands. We headed off to the facility in our cars, ready to bombard the facilities defenses and several hours later we did just that and began fire at the facility with tank sabots and machine guns. After bombarding the facility we made our way inside and it seemed to be deserted and I was puzzled until all these guards surrounded us and threw gas canisters which incapacitated us and took us to see Gearing's son in heavy restraints.

when we saw him he was very scrawny and wore glasses and had a lisp and we all couldn't help but laugh and he said "well see who's laughing after I find your precious kids and bring them here and kill them like you killed my father, of course after I extract their DNA to finish my augment army" and I said "he killed both our parents and tried to kill us you sick fuck" and Mr. gearing said "so that's life" and I said "if you so much as touch my kids I'll rip your fucking head off, stay away from my kids" and Mr. gearing said "who's gonna stop me and when they come to find you, it'll be all your fault" and I said "even if you find them they'll kick your ass" and Mr. Gearing said, "ooh I'm so scared, even as we speak my men are closing in on your beloved children and they have no clue". I looked at Isabella and we both used our telepathy to interface with our car and send a signal to grandma at the house to move the kids out. As soon as grandma received our distress signal she acknowledged us with an answer and moved fast to get the kids from school and back to the house.

[Camilla's pov] It was recess and as usual I was hanging out with Jason but only this time we met behind a tree and he told me to close my eyes and I was so excited as I thought we were finally gonna have our first kiss. Instead of a kiss Jason yelled "now" as these men in black put me in restraints and I said Jason what's going on" and he said "revenge for all the pain your family has caused mines" and then the men carried me off, but before they got far Jamie attacked them just as grandma pulled up and fought the guys and knocked them out cold before ripping off my restraints and putting me in the car with Ernie. I blew a kiss to Jamie as Grandma sped down the roads and drove erratic as these cars with these men chased us and I asked grandma what was happening and she said "No time to explain, we gotta get back to the safety of the house and get out of here". We sped down the streets trying to dodge the men but it seemed hopeless until I finally saw our block and before we knew it, grandma pulled into the garage as the door slammed shut.
