As Magnus finished speaking, Kristin’s delicate body trembled. 

“You, what did you say…” 

Unknowingly, her speech had become somewhat unclear.

“…” Magnus was a bit embarrassed.

“Kristin, I just wanted to take responsibility for you.” 

Magnus solemnly declared, “You’re mine, and I’m the only man for you in this lifetime!” 

“You…” Kristin gritted her teeth in anger. However, her heart was racing as if it had been set free, pounding wildly.

“Hah, there isn’t a woman in the world I couldn’t pursue.” 

For sure, Magnus would not say this out. 

He suddenly changed the topic and said, “I’ve been quite free lately. Is there any suitable position in your company?” 

“What are you up to this time?” Kristin asked, raising an eyebrow.

“I just wanted to be closer to you,” Magnus said with a honey–sweet smile. 

Upon hearing this, Kristin could not help but blush slightly and joked, “The position of chief in the security department had been vacant for a while. Are you interested?” 

Magnus smiled contentedly and said, “This job is not bad. There’s much freedom and easygoing.” 

Kristin was somewhat taken aback. 

She just made a casual remark, but this guy actually took it seriously! 

However, when she thought about this guy becoming a security guard, she suddenly wanted to laugh. 

Hence, under Kristin’s arrangement, Alexa completed the onboarding process for Magnus and personally escorted him to the security department to start his new position. 

After all, Hovalt Group was a big company, and the security guard also represented one aspect of the company’s image. 

The dozen or so security guards looked energetic and awe–inspiring. 

“This is your new chief.” Alexa introduced Magnus. 

“Nice to see you, chief!”

The most robust man among them nodded in agreement.

After Alexa left. Several security guards gathered around Magnus, some offering him cigarettes, others lighting them for him. 

“Mr. Kramer, are you free this evening? We would like to invite you for a casual dinner. 

“After dinner, we can go for karaoke and sauna.” 

“You guys are being too kind,” Magnus chuckled. 

“Humph!” At that moment, Terry who was standing nearby, let out a heavy cold snort. 

The expressions of the several security guards changed instantly. 

The older one, Dustin Mosley, quickly spoke up. “Will Mr. Winfree join us as well?” 

“Exactly. Mr. Winfree, please do us the honor by joining us!” 

The others spoke up one after another. 

Terry took a cigarette and put it in his mouth. He glanced sideways at Magnus, and said, “Hey there, come over here. I have something to tell you.” 

The tone had an indescribable boldness. 

Terry thought after the former chief had retired, his promotion was definitely a confirmed matter. 

After all, his brother–in–law was the sales director! 

He could not accept the fact that Magnus took the position away. Thus, he instantly made a decision to show his ruthlessness to the newly appointed 

chief. 

Magnus furrowed his brow. 

He was the chief, but Terry, being just a deputy chief, dared to ask him to go over there, 

He sneered immediately, “Terry, right? I order you to go on a patrol right now.” 

“What did you say?” Terry’s face turned cold. 

“I told you to go on a patrol, are you deaf?” Magnus sneered. 

“Mr. Kramer, calm down! 

“Mr. Winfree, please calm down as well…” 

Seeing the confrontation between the chief and the deputy chief, the rest quickly came out to mediate the situation. 

Dustin whispered in Magnus‘ ear, “Mr. Kramer, our company’s sales director is Mr. Winfree’s brother–in–law.”

After he hung up the phone, Terry laughed loudly and said, “My work ethics are not good? What’s wrong with you? Are you trying to impeach me?” 

Magnus stared at Terry as if he was watching a clown. 

“I hope you could still laugh later.”
