Chapter 14 

After three or four minutes, Kristin’s female secretary returned, holding a document in her hand. 

“Terry, go to the finance department and collect this month’s salary.” 

As soon as the words were spoken, Terry froze. The cigarette in his mouth fell to the ground. 

He doubted his own hearing, so he asked incredulously, “Ms. Jones, are you sure you’re not mistaken?” 

Alexa said firmly, “There’s no mistake, Terry. Your conduct is improper, and you will be dismissed immediately as per Ms. Thompson’s personal order.” 

“Ms. Thompson personally gave the order!“. Terry repeated silently. 

Everyone looked at Magnus. It turned out that the phone call just now was for Kristin. 

For a moment, Magnus‘ background seemed unfathomable to them. 

Terry glared at Magnus with a fierce expression. “You just wait and see.” 

After speaking, he left the security department dejectedly. 

Alexa continued, “Dustin has been diligent in his work for the company, so Ms. Thompson appointed him as the deputy chief of the security department to assist Mr. Kramer in the future.” 

“Yes, yes, yes. Please thank Ms. Thompson for me, Ms. Jones!” 

Dustin laughed so hard that his mouth became crooked. 

However, he also knew that he had become the deputy chief because of Magnus. 

“Mr. Kramer, there’s no need to say more. Just give an order if you need anything in the future!” Dustin said, patting his chest and looking as if he was ready to brave any challenge.

Time flew by when people slacked. In the blink of an eye, it was time to get off work. 

Magnus changed into formal clothes, clocked out from work very officially, and then went straight to Kristin’s office. 

“Still not done?” he asked. 

“I’ll be ready soon.” 

Kristin’s face remained calm, but in reality, she was incredibly nervous inside. 

This was her first time going on a date with a man. 

In a short while, the two of them arrived at the parking lot. 

Kristin stood in front of a white Maserati and asked, “Can you drive?” 

“There’s nothing I can’t do, whether flying in the sky, running on the ground, or swimming in the sea,” Magnus confidently replied.

Kristin scoffed/She tossed the keys to Magnus before sitting in the back seat. 

She did not believe him, and Magnus did not explain further. 

He sat in the driver’s seat, skillfully started the car, and drove very smoothly. 

The car had just left Hovalt Group when he noticed two cars following him. 

“What should we eat?” Kristin casually asked, 

“Let’s decide what to eat later,” Magnus answered. Then, he drove the car to a secluded place and stopped. 

Kristin asked with confusion, “Why did you stop?” 

Kristin had just finished speaking when a loud noise sounded,

Two vans sandwiched the Maserati between them. 

Then, more than ten strong men with knives and sticks got out of the vehicles and surrounded them. 

These people clearly had bad intentions, and Kristin instantly became worried. 

Magnus grinned and said, “Wait for me in the car.” 

After he finished speaking, he opened the car door and got out. 

The bald man, who was the leader, playfully looked at Magnus and said, “Brat, do you know who we are?” 

“Enough talking. Come on. I’m in a hurry,” Magnus said nonchalantly. 

“Brat, you’re really brave!” 

The bald man gave him a thumbs up and said, “That’s why I’m going to make sure you die knowing who we are today. We’re from the Four Oceans Gang. Remember that, and in your next life, don’t mess with people you shouldn’t mess with.” 

“So noisy.” 

As the words fell, Magnus moved. 

The bald man’s expression suddenly changed, and he shouted anxiously, “Get rid of him for me!” 

But in the next moment, the expression on the bald man’s face was as if he had seen a ghost.

Magnus‘ speed was so fast that it was difficult to discern with the naked eye.

A figure stood in front of him, like a ghostly apparition.

The bald man, like a dying dog, lay on the ground wailing. 

In just two minutes, Kristin, who was sitting in the car, witnessed everything. 

If she had not seen it with her own eyes, she would have definitely thought they were filming a movie. 

It was truly astonishing. 

Magnus returned and sat in the driver’s seat, acting as if nothing had happened. He started the car. 

After the shock wore off, Kristin remained worried. 

“Go. Hurry up and go!” 

She took out her phone and said, “Go to the airport and escape from Yiefmery first. No, escape to another country!” 

Magnus glanced at her through the rearview mirror and said with a relaxed smile, “Why would I run?” 

Kristin said worriedly, “You just hit someone from the Four Oceans Gang. They won’t let you off easily!” 

Magnus, his hands on the steering wheel, smiled faintly and said, “Are you worried about me?”

Kristin glanced at him. “Let me remind you. Four Oceans Gang is the largest gang in Yiefmery. They-” 

“Don’t worry. They can’t do anything to me,” Magnus interrupted. 

Although he spoke calmly, to Kristin’s ears, it sounded incredibly confident. 

At Yiefmery Hospital, Shawn lay in bed with a pale, lifeless expression on his face. 

It was because the doctor said he would spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. 

This meant that from then on, Shawn would bid farewell to his lavish lifestyle and become a crippled man. 

Bang! The door to the ward was pushed open. Nestor walked in with a sullen expression on his face, 

“Dad, you must avenge me. I want that jerk to die a cruel death!” 

Upon seeing Nestor, Shawn was so excited that he could not speak coherently. 

Nestor patted Shawn’s shoulder, comforting him. “Don’t worry. I will avenge you.”

“Dad, don’t kill him. Spare his life, but I want him to wish he were dead. Also, Kristin must marry me!” 

Shawn was somewhat hysterical. 

Nestor nodded and said, “All right. I will help you. You take good care of yourself, and in a few days, I will send you abroad for treatment.” 

Shawn gradually calmed down. Nestor comforted him with a few more words before leaving the ward. 

Glen immediately walked over and said, “Mr. Zinn, it failed.” 

“What?” 

Nestor’s face darkened, and he said discontentedly, “What on earth were those people from Four Oceans Gang doing?” 

“Just now, Xavier Faraday called and said that the man was a trained fighter. They underestimated him this time, but they promised to catch him next time,” Glen added, 

Nestor nodded. “Keep a close eye on them. Also, did you find out anything about that man?”

Nestor gave up and stopped.
